No.1 choice for party game. No others games can warm up the party like this dude do. The brilliant game design along with clever adoption of joy-cons really makes it a damn good party game.

It might not be rich in contents and might not be suitable for single players. But it is perfect for parties.

This is gonna be controversial, but Super Mario Party is in my opinion the best Mario Party. I've reviewed all the other parties, but this one stands out to me. Also, they replaced the great 1-2-3, 4-5-6, 1-10 and Slow dice blocks with the even better character specific dice.
Instead of blindlessly picking Yoshi every game, you think about the board layout and whether your character's dice will help you on the way. Each dice block is perfectly balanced (except for Daisy's and Donkey Kong's) and provides for a strategic take that refines the gameplay. Plus, though many shrugged them off as 'meh they're fine', the minigames are FANTASTIC, and even better than Mario Parties 4, 5, 9, 10 and Superstar's excellent ones (My favourite being Fuzzy Flight School). However if you're not looking to play the boards over and over and want to face some other new challenges, Mario opens his gloved palm and offers you a buncha more fun side modes, but I won't spoil it for you. If you like Mario Party, or you want to be the attractive guy who pulls out a Switch OLED, Joy-Cons and a copy of this game from your pocket, this is a must play.

    FULL REVIEW:
I’ve never played a party game. Due to my long-time connection to Nintendo, however, I wanted to give the Mario Party franchise a shot. Luckily, Super Mario Party offers a solid refresh to the series. The title’s primary game mode includes five boards in total, and while they are all linear, its only goal is to use coins and obtain stars, the winning currency. Each playable character comes with a unique dice block, and despite some blocks being less useful than others, it doesn’t affect gameplay too much. After each round of turns rolling the dice, players must compete in a minigame, earning them coins to use towards stars depending on where they finish. After ten to twenty rounds, a player is chosen as the victor after the game supplies star freebies to whoever struggles to get them throughout the game. In its defense, it makes the family-friendly gameplay much more forgiving if you are inexperienced or have bad luck. However, it does remain an annoyance to more experienced players.

Super Mario Party also includes a few other game modes. River Survival is a co-op mode where four players get as far as possible in a riverboat before the timer runs out. Players increase their timer by completing minigames. Partner Party has two sets of two players on nonlinear versions of the Mario Party’s boards. It makes sense, as it's essentially the same game mode but instead focusing on teamwork. Sound Stage is a rhythm game, Challenge Road is a single-player mode similar to one found in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, and Toad’s Rec Room includes some minigames that look similar to a few from Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics. Lastly, Free Play, Mariothon, and Square Off all focus on minigames in their own ways. One of the issues with Mario Party seems to be redundancy, and I’m not sure if it’s good or bad.

Unfortunately, Super Mario Party does come with some issues. The lowest number of rounds in the primary game mode takes about an hour to finish, making it difficult to play if someone’s under a time crunch. The prerequisites for each locked character are rather ominous because of what players must do to unlock them, which the game never explicitly hints at. I find it surprising because of its family-friendly nature, causing the title’s long-term gameplay to become more time-consuming than enjoyable. Many locked characters in Nintendo’s games unlock simply by playing them, and Super Mario Party decided to go in a different direction. While the title is a great party and minigame experience, it includes some avoidable flaws that need ironing out.

Super Mario Party goes back to its roots and delivers just like it should. The vast number of different modes, really prevents any to shine the brightest, but the entire game is a small step back that greatly leaps forward. It makes us only more excited for the next entry. Something we haven't felt with the Mario Party series in ages...

Both players and critics agreed that in the last couple of years Mario Party’s quality has been dropping. Nintendo decided to go for broke this time and I hope slapping “Super” in front of the title heralds the restart of the franchise, because SMP finally delivers what we expected. [12/2018, p.51]

Complex and unpredictable board game, numerous mini-games and being able to play as your favorite character – those are the three pillars of Mario Party’s success. Neither of these elements was polished to perfection over the years, but together they offer a very enjoyable experience. [Issue#234, p.72]
