I bought this game because in reviews it's combat is described as turn based/scroll adventure. Yet an update that WASN'T added to the review removes that with a real time combat. I bought Sunless Sea specifically for the turn based gameplay. Last time I buy/support any Kickstarter live service BS

This game is so unique that it's hard to rate. On the iPad it is excellent (but the Zubmarriner DLC is missing there). On Switch the game would be even better if it wasn't for the huge interface and small font. Nevertheless, the game is great and I highly recommend it

This ‘rogue-like’ gaming experience is rewarding for those who are fans of this methodical genre. It is slow, patient game, built on the acquisition of knowledge and resources to uncover the mysteries of the deep. It appeals to a certain type of gamer, one who embraces the challenge and has the patience to explore the lore which is waiting for you. The persistent darkness sets the scene of mystery and the ever-looming threat of perma-death has your every decisions loaded with implications.

Mechanically as well as narratively gripping adventure, that was ported to console with only a few weaknesses.

Sunless Sea has a really great atmosphere that should be ripe for exploring, but unfortunately it falls flat when it comes to core gameplay elements. Story bits are slow to develop and failed to hook me, while the act of sailing itself is mundane. That’s not to say it’s devoid of good ideas, but it’ll take someone who doesn’t mind a slow burn to fully enjoy.
