    An impressive port marred only by noticeable pop-in and frame drops at times. Subnautica and it’s sequel are survival games with an emphasis and exploration, crafting, and mystery. The worlds are vast and wondeous and teeming with well animated creatures both docile and terrifying. Having both titles on the Switch in one convenient package is a great value that offers loads of content toAn impressive port marred only by noticeable pop-in and frame drops at times. Subnautica and it’s sequel are survival games with an emphasis and exploration, crafting, and mystery. The worlds are vast and wondeous and teeming with well animated creatures both docile and terrifying. Having both titles on the Switch in one convenient package is a great value that offers loads of content to the player. The ports look very good for the most part, but do experience some technical hiccups from time to time, nothing game breaking though. The audio sounds crisp and uncompressed and I would advise playing with headphones as the audio output is rather quiet otherwise. Everything from the other console ports is accounted for, including even the option for console commands. One nice inclusion is a number of accessibility options. These include color filters, FOV slider, character movement slider, and even a fairly intuitive button mapping menu. Overall, this is a solid port of two excellent titles that you should not miss if you like exploration and mystery in your games.… Expand

    The first game is amazing and crazy amount of gaming in this bundle. Starts slow but stick with it. Recommend using beacons to track places you need to come back to as late game doesn’t give you guidance on the map.

    i was always intrested in subnautica. but i never botherd to pick it up (also never saw a physical copy and i collect so maybe thats one of the reasons)

    the only thing that kinda sucks that if u build a new part for your base the screen always freezes for like 4 seconds. but other than that this is a great game    … Expand

    For someone who only plays games on the switch, this is a must have. I rarely get to play such popular and critically acclaimed games like these, so the double port is a very convenient option for me personally. I haven't experienced any major problems in the game itself that could hinder gameplay, the only issues I've found so far are wall clipping and minor loading problems. The creatures look great, absolutely terrified of others, water looks amazing and the story is obviously outstanding too.     But.
    The second one is flat-out unplayable. Constant crashes make it impossible to even finish it. It starts out alright but, about 5 hours in, it just got into a crash loop and stays there. It'll last for all of 5-15 minutes before crashing again... and again... and again.... Since the last update-- or even    This one kills me to write. The first game is a definite 10 out of 10!     Since the last update-- or even mention of the port was in August of last year... It's probably pretty safe to say that the company has since moved on and have left it as it is so, I just canNOT recommend the second game on the Switch. I just can't.
    Since both games have to be reviewed at the same time for the ports in question, that means that the 10 rating of the original is trashed by the 0 of the sequel.
    By all means get the first one here-- we've discovered that the Switch version is surprisingly MORE stable than the Xbox One even (so full credit there at least- maybe not as pretty but definitely more stable and, oddly, less pop in if you can believe it).
    But, do NOT get Below Zero on this console! Save your money or buy it for another system because that port is just yet another broken mess. They've done a dump'n'drive with it and it's sadly just the way that it is.
    Shame too because, as I am the first to admit: the first one is an absolute banger all-time favorite too and having it portable let me sink FAR more hours into it than I ever expected but the sequel is just a mess.
    So, yeah, don't bother with the collection. Just pick up the first one on sale on the eShop and save yourself some money, a whole bunch of headaches, and a completely broken heart. smh.    … Expand

    There are moments of incredible beauty in both Subnautica games, and I’m happy that they can now be experienced on a handheld screen. If you have to choose between the two games, I’d recommend the first game over the second. That said, I’m sure playing that original will eventually lead you to the follow-up anyway.

    Subnautica and its excellent sequel have arrived on Switch in unexpectedly fine form. This is an absolutely essential survival smorgasbord, a fantastic port and something of a must-buy double feature for fans of the genre. If you're purchasing one or the other separately on Switch we'd still plump for the original game, as Below Zero's fleshed out narrative and on-foot sections dilute the overall experience ever so slightly, but, regardless of which you choose, you're in for a mighty good time here with two of the very best survival games currently available on any platform.
