Nintendo and Nickelodeon's friendship is bigger every year. Also Universal was cleared of charges. The end.

This game has a glitch on level 63 of the Salty Spitoon. The customers never come out so there's no way to beat it. This game has been out for months and no update as of July 2021. Do not buy it until they fix it, it's currently a ripoff

Ah, licensed games… Though in more recent history they haven’t been quite as much of a scourge as in generations past they have a tendency to either be a surprise, making terrific use of the property, or what feels like a thin coat of familiarity to slap on an otherwise lacking experience. Unfortunately, as quirky and silly as SpongeBob may be, Krusty Cook-Off doesn’t put a very good foot forward on multiple levels, making for a pretty overpriced but underwhelming experience. Very clearly showing its mobile roots with different in-game currencies to earn, a shop for cosmetics, and general mechanics from the free-to-play space, that this isn’t even a budget game is already tough to swallow. Throw in that there’s no voice to make more than cosmetic use of the license and that the cooking management gameplay skews on the simplistic side, with many competitors already on the system that are more engaging and fun, and this title is half-baked at best.

Spongebob Squarepants: Krusty Cook-Off – Extra Krusty Edition is a fun game that is built on a casual gaming backbone and runs well on the Nintendo Switch. While it will never reach the impressive gameplay heights of the Overcooked series, Spongebob Squarepants: Krusty Cook-Off – Extra Krusty Edition delivers fun levels, good controls, and enough reason to return to it over and over again.

Though its gameplay can be entertaining enough in short bursts and its art looks nice, SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off proves to be a disappointing take on the beloved IP. Shallow gameplay, performance issues, and weird controls make for an experience that’s simply ‘ok’ at best. Considering that you can also access a version of this game on your phone for free, we can’t fully recommend that you spring for this one. There are much worse things you could buy off the eShop, but SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off simply doesn’t offer enough value for its asking price.

SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off is a fun game held back by weird oversights like zero touch screen controls and the absence of the friendly, pure voices of SpongeBob and Patrick Star. If it weren't for the abundance of ads and microtransactions in the mobile version, it would probably be the better version due to its controls. That said, there's a surprisingly large amount of content packed into this arcade dining game and anyone who does grab it, regardless of platform, will have plenty to do for quite a while.
