    Suffice it to say that in order to get into the player search grid, you need to wait 5 minutes for unskippable news, and the search for the players themselves is now taking another 3 minutes. To play once, you simply wait a minimum of 8 minutes. And the single player mode in this game is rubbish.

    Meh. There's not much to it. Gets repetitive; just spraying ink and trying to avoid getting sniped by japanese players with thousands of hours experience.

    This game is basically dead. Waiting time is longer that the match and there is no matchmaking. Its not worth any money, I'm not even sure if anyone would play it for free.

    Un juego que solo sirve para jugar un rato y en amistoso. No se requiere habilidad, solo hacer spam de rodillo, Clash, brocha, tina, etc. Creo que un juego es para divertirse y aquí hay veces que no puedes hacer mucho por qué tienen el Boost de arma que de depende no sabes ni como te reventaron. Aparte al momento de mover el joystick hacia los lados, dejas de jalar y pareciera que tieneUn juego que solo sirve para jugar un rato y en amistoso.     I can't even begin to list all of the bad things. I'm used to pretty much all Nintendo developed games being at least good enough. Not this time. I would like to meet the person who thought releasing this game wasn't an insult to every shooter ever made and recommend them a psychiatrist

    This game gets old very fast when playing alone in my opinion. Really needs split screen for playing with friends. Devs dropped the ball big time here.

    I would like to be able to approve of this game, it has good gameplay, it has potential.
    I bought this game in the classic tradition of Nintendo games, to play with friends especially while hanging out in proximity with eachother. Unfortunately, I can't, I cannot stay connected to this game online even long enough to get though a single 4 minute match, this game is literally    0/10

    I bought this game in the classic tradition of Nintendo games, to play with friends especially while hanging out in proximity with eachother. Unfortunately, I can't, I cannot stay connected to this game online even long enough to get though a single 4 minute match, this game is literally unplayable.

    The first problem is that the antennae in the Nintendo Switch are made out of Laffy Taffy, as has been observed by multiple reviewers and journalism sites. When I connect wirelessly I DC from every match even when sitting literally 8 feet from the router.

    To get around the hardware problem I figured I would just play the game with the console docked and with an ethernet cable. Turns out the Switch doesnt support the first two $30 ethernet adapters I bought, took a week of back and forth shipping to figure out which one that was supposed to work actually did.

    So finally, with my $30 adapter, with my console docked which is not how I would prefer to use it, with my router's QoS set up to prioritize my console's connection above all else I invite a friend over for a week to stay up late and marathon this game that they like so much.

    Nope, doesnt work, Splatoon's netcode wont allow it. We can both connect to the internet on the switch via ethernet cables, but as soon one of us tries to join the other's lobby it disconnects the first person who joined.

    OK we say, one of us can be docked and the other can be wireless. Whoops we are back to square one where the wireless doesnt work.

    I wish I could say something positive about this game, I do, but this is a multiplayer game, where because of bad hardware and bad netcode I had to spend unnecessary amounts of time and money to even get it to work properly, and then as soon as I actually try to play it with a friend, as a nintendo game, it all breaks.

    Thats not even starting on the fact that when you join the lobby of a friend you cannot ensure that you will actually be on the same team. This game has just the least support for actually playing with a friend of any game ive played in the last 10 years.    … Expand

    I stupidly bought this game without digging much into it, assuming it would support couch co-op on splitscreen and when I got home to try it I discover I was wrong.     Terrible, terrible, terrible game. So much potential wasted by awful matchmaking and unfun gameplay. I shouldn’t lose 15 games in a row before I finally get a remotely useful teammate. I know a lot of games have people complaining about matchmaking, but I truly believe that splatoon somehow mastered the formula to make the worst matchmaking experience possible. Always bad teammates, butTerrible, terrible, terrible game. So much potential wasted by awful matchmaking and unfun gameplay. I shouldn’t lose 15 games in a row before I finally get a remotely useful teammate.     Bought this for my 11-year-old son. He hasn't been able to play a single game. The connection to the server doesn't go through. I've tried the following steps:

    -Change my ip-address to public (had to contact ISP) - Set a DMZ for the switch ip - Open all ports in my router for switch ip - Try the game from different internet connections The login to matches (or the whole switch's    Bought this for my 11-year-old son.     Now, just like with Fortnite, I kept an open mind for this game. But I just couldn't. Just like with Fortnite, the online isn't very beginner friendly, and the single-player campaign is VERY lack-luster. The worst part is, I can't take it back to the store. So, the moral of the story? Shooter games don't target the casual gamers.

    Biggest Problem: you can't skip the news. That's the only major issue. This game is the reason to own a Switch. This is my favorite multiplayer game.

    LOL our team was almost there and then "YOUR CONNECTION IS UNSTABLE" popped up and then I was kicked out. and my rank went down. WTF nintendo, you should've done better. 0 outta 10. I worked so **** hard to get to a new ****g rank and because of NINTENDO, my rank dropped down. I'M ****G paying for this, and this is what you give me, a piece of crappy **** :(

    Every positive review on this game is false. The weapon kits suck, camping is a bigger problem now more than ever, Grizzco doesn't work half the time, and the matchmaking is FAR worse! Nothing about this game is worth the stress or having to constantly put up with toxicity. The entire series needs to die, because nothing is getting better and Nintendo only cares about money.

    Splatoon 2 expanded the universe, with the dlc adding so much lore, not to mention this game has indeed outdone its first.

    Though never fun in real life, spilling ink all around is even more fun in Splatoon 2 than it was in the first game. Teaming up with your squid friends has never been better. But even though some weird Nintendo elements can drag the fun to a stall, everywhere that Splatoon 2 shines makes it a deserving heir to the original.
