Splasher truly shines when it comes to its core gameplay as well as the surprising variety of situations that you will encounter. While not the most ambitious game this year on the technical front, it delivers where it matters for a platformer. Splatoon and Super Meat Boy were good friends after all.

Splasher is an interesting and fulfilling game, thanks to its good level design and to its simple nature, which allows for fun and compelling experiences in the right amounts of time. A game that arrived full of promises and that fortunately, does not disappoint and is a solid and welcome entry in the growing catalog of the Nintendo Switch.

Splasher is a platformer that wears its influences on its sleeve from a story taken straight from Oddworld and gameplay that can almost match Rayman. The game offers a nicely refined platforming experience that really nails the fast and fluid style, the game is a great showcase of how these games should play and the only praise this game needs is that I would like to see a sequel that expands on these ideas.

All told Splasher is a smartly designed, tight platformer that offers up hours of replay value on top of the creative ideas it delivers. It takes the Super Meat Boy template and builds upon it in a notable way, creating an experience that feels just the right amount of familiar and fresh. Though there isn’t a whole lot to write home about when it comes to the presentation, the core gameplay is more than enough to keep you engaged. We give this one a strong recommendation, especially to those who are looking to dip their toes into the twitch platforming genre. Splasher is easy enough to pick up, yet difficult to master, and stands as a worthy addition to the Switch eShop.

While I do wish that there was a bit more of it, what’s here is phenomenal.

In the world we live in now where more and more platformers are popping up all the time, it's so nice to play through such a refreshing (and dare I say fluid) adventure. Splasher's interesting paint cannon mechanic paired with the excellent level design will have you bouncing through each level feeling like a boss from start to finish. If you like a great challenge, charming animations and a new take on an old genre, look no further.

This is a seriously impressive game that, despite its short length, will have you happily replaying it after the credits roll.

This game is difficult but addictive, sadly the enemies are narrowed down to just a handful and the couple of crashes during the last few levels (where there are not save points) are annoying.

One of the best, most innovative, platforming games I have ever played. I highly recommend getting it if you enjoy platforming games at all.

Splasher is another addition into the already crowded 2D platformer genre, but it is a very good one. The controls are tight, it offers a good challenge without ever feeling unfair and new elements are introduced at just the right pace. In fact, the only real criticism I have is that the checkpoints can sometimes be a little too far apart. All in all, if you’re a fan of the genre, Splasher is well worth playing.
