This is like a story of Slender with more variety places to walk around, new missions & plenty of scary moments.

Is Slender: The Arrival everything I personally wanted it to be? Sadly no, it isn't but that doesn't necessarily make it bad. The story is a strange one and I'm still not too sure I understand any reasoning behind what happened but it definitely got my heart racing at times, especially at the start of the game when everything was new and fresh, it just could have been so much more!

A title with great potential that is somewhat wasted due to lack of variety. However, it surprises with a good experience of terror thanks to its extraordinary atmosphere.

Slender: The Arrival makes its Nintendo Switch debut six years after the original release and the result is a mixed bag: its sound atmosphere is still as breathtaking as it was and does an excellent job at keeping players on their toes; visually speaking, the game is showing its age. Overall the game's short lifespan, repetitiveness and generic plot mean this experience is rather average and doesn't fully stand out.

I had a decent enough time with Slender: The Arrival, but only really for the first half of the game. The second half treads heavily on the toes of repetition and makes it become rather mundane to get through. When the full length of the game is only two hours and the second of those hours relies too heavily on the same, predictable scare tactics of the first hour, there is something wrong. Initially, those scare tactics work wonders and you will find it terrifying, but it simply does not last. If you’re a horror fan and are desperate for a quick, budget-priced game to tide you over, then you can definitely do worse, just don’t expect too much out of it.
