    Loving this game. It's one of those games that's easy pick up and tough to master. I say this as I'm currently trying to improve my score on the leader boards, as well as complete every level.

    The game overall is fun, vibrant, challenging, rewarding and sounds excellent. You can even unlock Charles Martinet! I'd definitely recommend picking this one up.     At its core it is a auto runner, with seemingly straight forward controls. However, dive a little deeper you will find an amazingly fun experience. One that will have you cursing one minute and jumping up to do a little jig. Fetch quests to unlock extra characters. This game oozes charm. It is not for the faint of heart though. It is a true challenge, like the old games I grew up on. GiveAt its core it is a auto runner, with seemingly straight forward controls. However, dive a little deeper you will find an amazingly fun experience. One that will have you cursing one minute and jumping up to do a little jig. Fetch quests to unlock extra characters. This game oozes charm. It is not for the faint of heart though. It is a true challenge, like the old games I grew up on. Give it a play you will not be disappointed.     A pixel perfect disasterpiece. If you are a fan of the Runner series, be warned, this is a much different experience. The character and polish is here but the actual gameplay is so much worse. It goes out of its own way to ramp up difficulty to the point it gets in the way of what made this series fun.     A really fun game for patient people who like memorizing levels. If you like Pressing x to climb a cliff while listening to some long story then you are probably better off sticking to those kind of games.

    You have to pick up Runner3! This game is beyond brilliant and beyond funny. It is also beyond Polished. Slovakiaed you might call it.

    I'm going to preface this by saying Runner 2 is one of my favorite side-scrolling games of all time, and easily the best auto-runner. I was not happy about the Switch exclusive console release of this game and thus completely forgot about it until I saw it on sale recently.

    This game is such a fall from grace, I am stunned. If you've seen the RedLetterMedia reviews of the Star Wars    I'm going to preface this by saying Runner 2 is one of my favorite side-scrolling games of all time, and easily the best auto-runner. I was not happy about the Switch exclusive console release of this game and thus completely forgot about it until I saw it on sale recently.

    This game is such a fall from grace, I am stunned. If you've seen the RedLetterMedia reviews of the Star Wars prequels, there is a segment where they go into detail about how Lucas' love for CGI utterly destroyed the original trilogy in the release of the "special edition". That feels exactly like what happened with Runner 3. The game looks a lot more polished, but they just throw crap in front of your character and clutter the screen with complete nonsense. As if the levels aren't hard enough already. Is this a joke? Then there are parts of levels where they completely shift the camera view in the most disorienting manner imaginable including ZOOMING IN, come on!!

    I cannot recommend this game to anyone, and certainly not to fans of Runner 2. This is NOTHING like that game aside from the characters and the moves you use. The user friendliness has gone out the window too, so I can't even recommend this to beginners. The difficulty curve is too insane.    … Expand

    So this is a decent game but anyone looking for a casual game needs to look elsewhere. The graphics are good and everything runs smoothly on the switch but what you need to keep in mind is that this is a puzzle game and it's a puzzle game that relies solely on memory.

And then it's more than happy to punish you when you don't perform the perfect combination of button presses. When the games speed ramps up, and it does, you will have the tiniest fraction of a second to pull off the perfect move again and again and again till you either die (honestly the most likely outcome) or you hit a checkpoint. It's a bit infuriating but I suppose that's the draw?

    Additionally, I got it on sale for 9.99 and that feels more like a fair price than the RRP of 29.99.

    Overall, it's ok, pretty and the game-play loop is tolerable but it is a difficult game that you'll have to sink time into in order to become halfway decent.    … Expand

    Runner3 is one of those amazingly simple, but hard to master games! The game-play is spot on, the music is such a joy to listen to and your part of the melody while you play through each level trying to catch “secret” items, golden bars or/and gems. Also Charles Martinet know as the voice from Mario and others Nintendo characters is an excellent narrator from start to finish and inRunner3 is one of those amazingly simple, but hard to master games!     If you’re doing it right, you’ll be rewarded with cosmetic options in each different themed world you try to unlock. The game is very rewarding every run-through with alternate paths to choose from and keeps you on your tows with some quick mix-up of moves and good speed changes while running to your goal. The game delivers it all step by step on the go learning mechanic during each level and world. The bosses are again not too hard to start with, but get more difficult at the end stage of each battle.

    If you can’t get enough of the fun in Runner3 and you figured it all out, then there’re still some impossible levels scatter across all worlds, which you can unlock and try to beat. Runner3 doesn’t get out it’s way to do things differently from it’s predecessors and in my opinion improve in every facet of the overall game. It’s definitely a hidden and underrated gem among the indie genre on the Nintendo Switch!

    I've enjoyed this series ever since I was a kid, such simple concepts executed really well to craft an addicting game franchise. I bought this game at launch and back then it had some technical issues as well, but now after the major update, I find that a lot of those issues are remedied, plus with new additions like adjustable difficulty, I feel this game went up from a 7 to maybe an 8.5 or 9. Pick it up if you want a nice game to waste your time playing on the bus, pick it up if you want a challenge, pick it up if you're a fan of the series, it's a good time regardless.… Expand

    Me and my friend, we were challenged. Annoyed and desperate sometimes, but challenged and given that it was on a huge sale for Switch, it was a worthy investment. It is fun to play in short amount of times, but not longer because it can piss you off. But that's the beauty of it, I guess. It's fun and challenging, with good sounds and simple but cool graphics. Quite a good time killer.

    Brilliant game for any fan of 2D platformers or rhythm based games. Once it clicks, your hands and brain enter a trance-like state and are one with the game/music. Great art style, humour, gameplay and plenty to unlock. My only gripe is the load times on the Switch are little long. I also highly recommend Runner 1&2 and I really hope there will be a Runner 4 one day.

    Runner3 is a thoroughly enjoyable return to form for Commander Video and friends, both as an advancement of the long-running indie series and its debut on Switch. Some minor, frustrating setbacks hold it back from greatness, but the rhythmic platforming the series is known for is present and as dynamic as ever.

    I feel kind of bad criticizing a game for being too inventive and embracing its vision a little too much — but that’s exactly what I’m going to do here. I’m not going to begrudge Runner3 for going all in on the things that have made the franchise so enjoyable in the first place…but, at the same time, there’s a fine line between just enough and way too much, and Runner3 definitely crosses it.
