The amount of customisation that players can use to create the best team that suits their playstyle combined with a captivating story, highly detailed environments, and lovable characters make Ruinverse undoubtedly one of KEMCO's finest RPGs. The main story will take around twenty hours to complete, with dozens more hours needed to complete all the side quests, which are optional, but reveal more about the characters, and provide more valuable items. The multiple endings make completing such side-quests more important if the best ending is to be achieved, although what constitutes such an ending will be down to player perspective. Skilfully written, with an even balance of humour and gravitas, Ruinverse belongs in every RPG fan's collection.

I absolutely despise practically everything Square Enix does. I just don't understand how their games are so well liked. As you can probably tell not my fav genre, more a change of scenery.

So I'm not too far in and this is just first impressions. It is really hard to describe because it feels both cheap and polished at the same time. Has some fun writing and some could be better writing.

I enjoy the grid attacks in battles. The characters are great and beautifully drawn. I love the character art. Sound is great. Very repetitive but good.

Story not really started yet. I prefer this so far to Persona 5 which was a pile of **** filled of 70's porn music and an absolute bore fest of characters and dialogue. The characters have more personality in 5 minutes of Runeverse than 5 hours of Persona 5.

The reason the lower score is that so far it just doesn't generate the excitement the Stegasoft did with Ara Fell and Rise of the Third Power. They're twice the price though. Runeverse relative to cost 9/10, relative to competition, 6/10.

I will update this once I've done a bit more but first impressions, whilst I'm not blown away, still good and made me want to go back to it. I don't tolerate **** games. For me to want to return to a game it is a good sign in general.
