    Long time reader, first time reviewer. Stay clear of this game. It just released yesterday on Nintendo Switch (for $7.99) and somehow, despite it being November, 2017, it fails to have even a fraction of the depth of the 1980s arcade game it's so clearly influenced by.

    Nintendo should be ashamed of itself for even allowing this on the eShop. - The physics are a joke. - The muzak is    Long time reader, first time reviewer. Stay clear of this game.     - The physics are a joke.
    - The muzak is anything but the rock music stated in the description.
    - There is no online multiplayer.
    - One can scarcely tell their car from the others on a 65-inch television.
    - There are no power-ups, no upgrades, no obstacles.
    - There are no sound-effects. Not even the sound of your car's engine.

    The game is good for one thing though. It's taught me to never, EVER, buy another game without checking Metacritic first.    … Expand

    This game sucks so bad, its hard to explain.

    The AI is so horrible that half the cars end up running the track in the wrong direction. Every race, you will have accidents caused by wrong way drivers. Then, the cars... well, you only get black cars. All other colors? Not selectable. What really rocks about black is that it makes it quite impossible to see what direction your car is    This game sucks so bad, its hard to explain.

    Then, the cars... well, you only get black cars. All other colors? Not selectable. What really rocks about black is that it makes it quite impossible to see what direction your car is going. Add the fact that physics (not really physics but ya) are horrible, bouncy walls, no suspension, jumps are stupid, drifting is done by pressing brake and gas at the same time.

    The only good thing is the tracks don't look bad, this compensates the fact cars are made using 5 polygons each.

    The concept is ok. I don't mind games like this one, but I cannot believe how this game's control suck....the tracks are barely playable because of the poor mechanics. It is one thing the other cars are sometimes running into wrong/all type of direction, but it is another thing not to have tight controls to avoir them. I honestly played for 10 minutes and could not continue. I then did aThe concept is ok. I then did a search to check if it was an IOS game which had been ported to the Switch or something, but no....just a plain awful game lol I thought about getting Mantis Burn Racing instead (looks 10 times better), but I did not want to pay $25.     The game looks like it should be Super Offroad, or at least similar. But you don't have any car upgrades. No nitro boosts. The AI drivers are terrible, half of the time they don't finish the race.
    If you want to restart a race, you end up having to restart the entire championship, regardless of what race you are on.
    Multiplayer on TV is the only saving grace, but gets boring very fast.    The game looks like it should be Super Offroad, or at least similar. But you don't have any car upgrades. No nitro boosts. The AI drivers are terrible, half of the time they don't finish the race.

    It's a 7 for me.The spirit of 25 years ago is important in these kind of games and this game has it.

    If you're expecting a modern Super Off-Road, think again, this might look good, but it's basic with somewhat dumb AI that will get stuck a noticeable amount. Quick cash in.

    I was geeked to play a Super Off-road clone. This game is not that. My fault for not reading reviews before buying, but the developers should be ashamed and finish their game.

    Rock ‘n Racing Off Road DX is perhaps the poorest racing game on the Switch at the moment. It has too many design flaws and its AI is too broken to find any enjoyment within its simplistic game design.

    Keeping in mind the budget price, Rock ‘N Racing Off-Road DX is a tough one to call. It makes fair attempts at providing some variety with multiple track layouts mixed with jumps and uneven terrain but at the same time racing physics being tricky at times can make for unintended challenges. While there is likely an element of personal taste to control in the 5 vehicles, I found that the Highlander class (the first you’ll unlock) to be far superior to most everything else in terms of overall performance and handling. It may just take some tweaks but collisions are inevitable in the game and can royally screw you up, more than I’d expect. This can detract from some of the fun of the tracks that overlap themselves and that’s a shame. While there are some positives to be had in the game it’s also quirky enough that it’s tough to recommend.
