Here is my honest opinion, Radiation Island is a really cool game with really decent graphics, a game that offers an open world experience for such a cheap price, however I feel as though they came up short on their goal. The game is incredibly boring, often offers nothing to do but grinding for resources or struggling to kill but the simplest of enemies. The game is incredibly boring, often offers nothing to do but grinding for resources or struggling to kill but the simplest of enemies. The progression system in the game feels all out of whack, making the player feel no matter how far they progress their obstacles will always be large, and the world, generally empty, for such a large open world they didn't put too much into it. They should have put more time into the game, if they did, this could have been a really decent game. Including some bugs and glitches, I can't recommend this game to anyone unless they have absolutely nothing else to play. Expand

In essence, Radiation Island is a zombie-infested survival adventure game on a budget. It is yet another mobile game that has washed ashore on Nintendo Switch and one that fails to ever become a memorable experience on the portable home console. It has clear potential but ends up feeling incomplete, in needing more content to help keep the player both engaged and motivated.

From a gameplay standpoint, despite some rough edges on its crafting systems, Radiation Island delivers a truly entertaining gameplay loop within the survival genre. However, even with its ambitiously huge environments, the game is overshadowed by its shallow technical aspects.

This isn’t a game that compels me to play for hours on end. However, it provides ample entertainment, and is one I can easily come back to for some good-old-fashioned island adventuring (plus zombies).
