Overall, ProtoCorgi is a fun shooter that’s deceptively difficult. The builder mode adds some longevity, especially at its budget price. The retro cartoony design is also great, creating an overall enjoyable shooter that stands out from the crowd.

ProtoCorgi starts with a very nice idea and implements it in an interesting way, but the end result appears only half successful. The solutions found by the developers regarding collision detection and enemy positioning, in fact, didn't click on us. Of course, at such a low price a scrolling shooter starring a corgi should be bought on principle.

Within a wide variety of clever scenarios and dastardly bosses, ProtoCorgi's tight unique gameplay and cute visuals really shine.

I enjoyed ProtoCorgi, and I think there’s a solid chance many of you will have an even better time with it. It has a solid presentation, almost all of the options you would want in a shooter plus a few more, and a cute premise. Throw in a very competitive price and it’s an easy shooter to recommend. Just keep in mind the usual rule about cute-em-ups: just because it looks fluffy, it doesn’t mean it’s easy. Inexperienced shooter fans may want to approach cautiously, but shooter fans should have a barking good time.

ProtoCorgi is a very adorable Shoot 'Em Up that has a charming protagonist. It has some great ideas, and levels that handle a lot of elements and effects on the screen. The campaign is missing essential content and the level editor is very limited.
