    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Classic JRPG fans are eating well right now. However, these are both relatively niche titles, and I don’t think that this is quite the level of TLC that they deserve in order to bring them into the modern gaming zeitgeist.

    NIS America can only convince in places with the new "Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3" on the Nintendo Switch. Although the role-playing games are a lot of fun on one side, they are simply not always great due to the technology and processes. Especially the games themselves have a few weaknesses and thus also drive a few comical and annoying moments on the game board. The technology isNIS America can only convince in places with the new "Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3" on the Nintendo Switch. Although the role-playing games are a lot of fun on one side, they are simply not always great due to the technology and processes. At least the additional content has turned out well. So we can't completely recommend the "Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3" and hope for a better edition in the future.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've now owned all three versions of Rhapsody - PS1, DS, and Switch. It's such a cute game, and I always enjoy playing through it. There are a few things I do wish they had added--having a minimap would be nice--but I'm glad they restored the tactical RPG style of battle that was removed in the DS port. The lyrics in most of the songs aren't great, but in a weird way they fit the game. There's a good number of recruitable puppets, but not an overwhelming number. There were a few times when I couldn't remember what to do, but the world is small enough that just going back to all the towns usually helped.

    I haven't played La Pucelle yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so. Overall, Rhapsody could have done with a few quality of life improvements, but it's still a fun game that's great for new RPG players or those who enjoy unique, funny games.    … Expand

    All in all, Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol 3 is a pretty solid purchase for fans of retro SRPGs, but I wouldn’t recommend it for casual gamers. However, if you want your young sister or daughter to get into RPGs, this might be a good starter package. She can begin with the easy difficulty and charming story of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Once she has her bearings and is ready for something more complex, she can try La Pucelle: Ragnarok.

    Both games included fun graphics and pixelated characters. The music was fun, and the voice acting was excellent. However, they needed more variety in the gameplay.

    We're afraid no one missed the games included in this third entry of the Prinny Presents series: they're basic SRPG in the vein of the first Disgaea titles, and there's no reason to choose them over any other main entry in the Disgaes or Fire Emblem series.
