Not a great billiards game. Only game mode is 8 ball. Balls can fly in any pocket and count. The computer abuses this at times by hitting a ball very hard and after 4 bounces and crossing the table twice it goes into a random pocket. The skill level of the computer is not very accurate. I have had the novice tier tournament player run the table with technically difficult shots thrown in.Not a great billiards game. Only game mode is 8 ball. Balls can fly in any pocket and count. I have had the novice tier tournament player run the table with technically difficult shots thrown in. The AI seems to improve dramatically if you are far ahead. I'm not a fan of dynamic AI based on how well the player is performing. It has happened enough now over 15+ hours of playing to realize it's a bit rigged against the player.

I can't speak to the multiplayer. Maybe it is amazing. I just haven't heard anything about this title, so I doubt it has a huge playerbase. Maybe on PC it does.

I didn't expect this to be a simulator by any means. I just expected a bit more for the price. You can download better games for free all over the internet. There are more billiards titles coming to the Switch. I'd recommend waiting for those. There really isn't much to this once you have played a few of the tournaments. No story and I haven't found the "master" level tournament AI to be very different from some of those under it. They need to reevaluate the lower level AI or people will never make it past them. Wait for the next titles to come to the system.

Pool might not be the classiest of sports, but that doesn’t mean it deserves a half-baked attempt at simulation to further its virtual cause. For a game asking for £9/$13 for the privilege of knocking balls around its tables, Premium Pool Arena feels more like daylight robbery than an eShop steal. If you truly want a proper pool experience, you're best looking elsewhere for now.

It's a workable enough take on the game. Like I said at the start, pool is ideal for a handheld platform, and I can see myself playing Premium Pool Arena a lot while on trips or during short breaks. It's a clean, efficient, and largely no-frills take on the game, and in all that it's pleasant and enjoyable. And that's really all that can be said about a game like this.
