I'm very disappointed. The game looks perfect for me, but controls on Nintendo Switch is terrible. Aiming, it's impossible — zero fun.

could be a fun game, but:
    - controls are impossible
    - AI is useless
    - to complete 1 level takes half an hour, because putting the stupid bot in the right position takes 29minutes

Well, I really wanted to like this one. Forced myself through the first couple of missions: Absolute agony. The entire game clearly was designed with keyboard and mouse in mind. I can totally imagine it being fun on PC. But my god. Switch Joycons & this game/gameplay do not go together. Really disappointed.

Ich meistere mit der zappeligen Steuerung nicht Mal das Tutorial. Für die Switch sehr ungeeignet. Fehlkauf!

I really really wanted to enjoy this game, a friend suggested it after watching a let's place (for the PC version) that made it look like a really fun Co-OP game.

There is one thing that makes this game impossible to play: The Controls. Essential controls are tied to the A, X, Y buttons and the D-pad. These controls are impossible to access as you can never safely take your fingers

One patch could totally fix this issue, lets see if it happens.

In the latest version, controls no longer require you to take fingers off sticks.

While the game is still hard (it took me 3 hours to beat level 1), I'm totally OK with it. A police officer needs a lot of skill and luck to take out a gang of 5, while sorting out civilians. The things that Kitsune_Boy dislikes are actually realistic and make it more believable: enemies that behave

The things that Kitsune_Boy dislikes are actually realistic and make it more believable: enemies that behave very differently, field of vision, you die in 1-2 hits, and yeah, you cannot dodge a gunfire!
And I did find how to effectively command your partner. And there's a way to improve your precision after mission 2.

I really like the tactical approach: you need to be super-careful about your actions, positioning, timing etc. With that, it becomes beatable, even given that I'm bad at action games.

BTW, the game has an easy mode now, which I didn't take.

Keep in mind, I have only beaten the first level of this game and I have already made my decision that this game was a waste of money for the Switch. I don't mind challenging games, however the challenge in this version isn't well executed. Aiming is practically hopeless in this game, I try my hardest to aim at an enemy and either miss completely and die or kill them and die anyway. I don't mind challenging games, however the challenge in this version isn't well executed. Aiming is practically hopeless in this game, I try my hardest to aim at an enemy and either miss completely and die or kill them and die anyway. The enemy AI is very unpredictable, sometimes they cooperate, sometimes they run, and sometimes they just kill you without warning. The fact that you have a field of vision in the game, makes top down pointless, sometimes I enter a room and get killed immediately because I didn't have my character look at the enemy to reveal them. Also, your character moves way too slow for this type of game. I understand it's supposed to be a tactical type of game, but it just takes forever to get anywhere. I also dislike the fact that I either die in one or two hits, which would be fine if my character could move fast enough to dodge gunfire. I get that they were trying to go with more realistic situations or something to that effect, but why not give the character a life bar? You barely get enough equipment to actually help you and the AI companion is completely useless. I gave them flash bangs and a lock pick, but when I bring up the command menu, there's no option to have them use it. This is especially frustrating if you didn't give your character the lock pick and a door you need to enter is locked, you can't command the AI to open it, so you have to go back to the menu and give yourself the lock pick. This game was designed with only keyboard and mouse in mind, because the controls on the Switch aren't helpful. Clicking in on Left Stick is Sprint, which is fine I guess, but the Right Stick moves the cursor so fast that I can't lock on to my target and there's no way to change it's sensitivity. Even with the Sprint, your character's speed only increases slightly, making it more of a jog. Sprinting for me has not helped me dodge gunfire, I tried sprinting to get to a door so I could regroup, but still got killed. The idea of a tactical top down shooter is a nice concept and the graphics are nice to look at. The sound effects and sound track are nice as well, but the gameplay for console is not good. This game might be good on PC, but it is very poor as a console game. Expand

Solid tactical game that shines in co-op. Very difficult, but also rewarding to pull off anything above a B rank on a level. The only major issue I could see is the game is somewhat unplayable with a single joycons ( for co-op) as the gyro aiming is beyond wonky. However with real sticks it shines.

At the beginning it's quite hard and the controls may seem very hard to you, but when you complete 2-3 levels you'll get used to it. Really good game, if you like "Door kickers" you will like this game. Maybe 15 euros is too expensive, but for sale it's perfect

Made an account just to make sure people don't waste money on this game. My friend and I played it for maybe an hour before deciding to never touch it again. The enemy AI is unpredictable in an unfun way (surrendering to shooting in 0.001 seconds), the controls are awful (shared screen, can't aim and shoot, aiming focuses on random things including your partner's head), and the randomnessMade an account just to make sure people don't waste money on this game. The game is flat out bad. Expand

Police Stories is a top-down shooter featuring stealthy missions as you work through a case in the late ’90s. There’s a fun and addictive game here, if you can get past the difficulty level.

Police Stories is a solid tactical shooter that is great to play together with a friend. It is a short experience with a story that doesn’t really matter but is competent enough to fulfill its role. I’m hoping that more levels are added in the future because the entire game can be completed in six to eight hours. Even with the small tweaks that need to be fixed, Police Stories offers fun gameplay and the need for extensive communication in co-op, which is exactly what I wanted and expected.
