    This game's pretty fun if you are a fan of Pokemon. The game isn't that good but I wouldnt give it a 4.6 like the user reviews on Metacritic show. It definetely deserves more then that, at least above 5.5. If you have friends that are interested in Pokemon, you could easily go around having fun in Max Raid Battles. And since DLC 2 is coming and you'll have the ability to catch moreThis game's pretty fun if you are a fan of Pokemon.     This game is not nearly as bad as the internet makes it out to be. People act like it’s the worst game ever made, when that’s simply not the case. It has flaws such as the lack of a national pokedex, but raid battles and the new gyms are pretty amazing. I also really dig the new designs. Sobble is my new favorite Pokémon now.

    Un muy buen juego. No es el mejor pokemon, pero es muy divertido. Tiene unos graficos muy bonitos y unos diseños encantadores en lo que a pokemon se refiere. Un juego que brinda incontables horas de diversion junto a tus pokemon favoritos( de esta generacion, al menos. Esperemos que en el futuro añandan a los de anteriores generaciones, o en los futuros juegos de pokemon al menos). MuyUn muy buen juego. No es el mejor pokemon, pero es muy divertido.     A huge downgrade to the Pokemon series, and not for nostalgia reasons. There are so many bugs and dropped features leaking throughout this mess, which is unacceptable for a huge company with a highly anticipated game like Nintendo.

    Le pongo un 4 porque se enciende y funciona. Solo voy a decir que se nota que era un juego de la 3DS.

    Además como fan de Pokemon de toda la vida estoy cansado de que el nivel de dificultad siga bajando con cada nuevo juego. Por favor Game Freak, para el próximo poned distintos niveles de dificultad y dejad de llevar de la mano al jugador durante todo el juego. 30 minutos de tutorial    Le pongo un 4 porque se enciende y funciona.     My first experience with the Switch Pokemon games and I was not disappointed. Massive improvement over the 3DS era of Pokemon.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pokemon espada y escudo son buenos juegos, pero las cosas malas destacan MUCHISIMO MAS NOTABLES que las buenas

    Malas

    - La dificultad es NULA, el juego es un paseo en ningun momento te pone una dificultad, el juego perfectamente te lo podrias pasar con los ojos cerrados y aun asi ganarias todos los combates y eso aburre

    - La mediocridad de las animaciones, pokemon sol y luna han demostrado tener una mayor calidad de animaciones que pokemon espada y escudo, esto no seria un problema SI NO FUERA por que masuda dijo en una entrevista que se centraran mas en el apartado tecnico que en poner los 900 y pic0 pokemons, cosa que fue una mentira

    - la historia es un caso perdido, la historia no hay quien la salve, al menos en sol y luna contaban una historia minimamente entretenida, mientras que aqui se resume en:

    vas a un pueblo, ganas la medalla y pasas al siguiente pueblo

    - Los dlc, en que mundo pokemon tiene dlc?, pokemon no es una franquicia apta para contenido extra y no solo eso, los dlc estaban siendo desarrollados a la par del juego habian hecho los dlc a proposito para sacar mas dinero

    Buenas:

    - Si algo se le puede rescatar a este juego son las texturas, a simple vista parecen un copy y paste de la 3ds, pero si te fijas bien notaras una mejora MUCHISIMO MAYOR que las de sol y luna y diran "aY peR0 eZ z0l0 un reEzkalado" no, si juegas en citra a 4x notaras que las texturas de la 3ds son muy inferiores a las de espada y escudo y el salto grafico que dieron estos juegos FUE TREMENDO (sin contar los arboles JASHGGSD)

    - Los rivales (roxy no cuenta)

    Empezemos por paul, paul es.... EL MEJOR RIVAL DE TODOS la historia que se va desarrollando en secreto sobre paul es una maravilla, paul siempre esta intentando alcanzarte mientras que por dentro se va quebrando por sentirse inferior al pensar que no cumple con las expectativas y mancha el nombre de lionen y todo eso termina de explotar en la final, donde se ve a un paul furioso y a la vez triste por que tu le destruiste sus sueños y en el postgame se ve a paul teniendo su ultima batalla contigo y buscando una nueva aspiracion

    Berto, berto crecio en un orfanato adoptado por el presidente rose, el lo crio, berto haria todo por el para traicionar su confianza eso se muestra cuando berto estaba reuniendo estrellas deseo, se le veia muy confiado por que sabia que tenia el respaldo del presidente de la region, imaginate que el presidente te adopta y te cria como su propio hijo para en el futuro confiarte la invitacion al desafio de los gimnasios, que harias tu si eso pasa? y no solo eso, le encargo reunir las estrellas deseo cosa que mas adelante en la historia se demuestra que rose solo engañaba a berto, tratandolo como un titere para conseguir su objetivo, imaginate lo que sentirias tu y despues es adoptado (otra vez) por la lider de gimnasio de tipo hada y de paso berto sanar la herida que rose le provoco para que al final tenga su enfrentamiento contra ti y asi terminar su historia

    - Los arboles, ok no xD

    - El diseño de los pokemon, estamos frente a unos diseños TREMENDOS

    Empezemos por alcremie, quien no quiere a alcremie? una tarta que depende de como la cocines para que tenga una forma u otra, es una delicia (no literalmente)

    Wooloo.... wooloo es... es... EL MEJOR POKEMON DE TODOS, quien no quiere a wooloo? una ovejita con una cara, lana y orejas tan maravillosas que no te resistes a abrazarlo es uno de los mejores diseños habido y por haber, sin duda un pokemon excelente

    En resumen pokemon espada y escudo son juegos con MUCHO potencial desperdiciado y un juego muy mejorable    … Expand

    Étant novice de la série des jeux Pokémon mais friand des Jrpg, je me suis dit que jouer à Pokémon Épée serait plutôt sympathique ou tout au moins divertissant. Hélas, ce jeu n'est honnêtement pas un bon jeu. Gameplay très limité même avec une multitude de Pokémon, animations vraiment pas terribles, peu diversifiées et très saccadées, graphismes honteux pour une switch et clipping abusif àÉtant novice de la série des jeux Pokémon mais friand des Jrpg, je me suis dit que jouer à Pokémon Épée serait plutôt sympathique ou tout au moins divertissant. Hélas, ce jeu n'est honnêtement pas un bon jeu. Gameplay très limité même avec une multitude de Pokémon, animations vraiment pas terribles, peu diversifiées et très saccadées, graphismes honteux pour une switch et clipping abusif à souhait. De plus les modèles des personnages sont recyclés absolument partout dans le jeu (il se peu que plusieurs personnages aient exactement le même skin côte à côte), l'environnement n'est pas du tout diversifié dans un open world triste avec une musique oubliable.
    Pour donner quelques bons points au jeu, je trouve que l'ambiance dans les arènes est plutôt bien reproduite et on sent vraiment une importance au combat avec le dynamax malgré la facilité déconcertante que l'on a à battre les membres de la ligue.
    Malheureusement j'aurais aimé dire que ce jeu était bien, mais c'est pas parce que c'est Pokémon que tous les défauts doivent passer à la trappe parce que c'est Pokémon et que c'est comme ça depuis longtemps... Non, ces défauts sont inexcusables aujourd'hui quelque soit la licence.
    Je n'ai pas passé un bon moment avec ce jeu, mais j'espère que le contenu additionnel saura ajouter du contenu en quantité importante pour rattraper le vide qu'il y a et pas seulement un ajout bête de Pokémon.    … Expand

Both weak and strong pokemon can pop up when u explore those areas. If u dont have enough gym badges and encounter strong pokemon u wont be able to catch it instead u have to fight it or run. This little change makes the game very rewarding. Also there are raid dens where u can ur friends can encounter huge pokemon. After u defeat that pokemon u will win rewards like TM/TR, berries etc and u will have an option to catch it. Gym battles are really fun especially the dynamaxing. Gym missions/ puzzles are fun to solve. During battle crowd cheers u. Just like a traditional sport games. Devs go as far as to force u to have to change to a gym uniform before facing gym leaders. U can change and customize ur cloths, gear, hair style and color. Camping is another great addition to the game. U can set up camps anywhere in the open areas. In camps u can play “catch” with ur pokemon, pet them, bond with them. U can also cook food by moving ur joycon itself. Food can heal ur pokemon, give exp and even give them stat boost. U can cook food by collecting berries and buying ingredients from the shop. This is no way a bad game. But it is some what disappointing since gamefreak chose to remove a lot of pokemon and some moves from the national pokedex. This needs to be fixed. Otherwise i love this game.… Expand

I have played all generations except 5, and I can say with certainty that although gen’s 3,4, and the rest had really repetitive gameplay, they still had some charm to them. Good music, great graphics, everything. Sword and Shield were a big disappointment. They had recycled animation, a Pokédex being cut down after spending twenty years of working onI have been a Pokémon fan for 7 years.     Worst pokemon game i have ever played. Didn't even feel like pokemon and it go to the point the story felt like a chore to play though. You could pay me and even then i dread to play though this game again.

    overhated it’s not a bad game it’s not exactly a good game either but it’s fun and that’s what matters i wouldn’t actually give it a 10/10 i just am to counter the trills my real score would be 8/10

    How can this game possibly be on a sistem that can run skyrim? Confront the wild area with skyrim... it's absurd.
    Online services are terrible and you need to pay for it. It was way better in x y with the gts. The game is getting worse instead of improving.
    Masuda lied and resold us old models instead of improving te game.

Take away the online capabilities and the open(ish) world, this can easily have been made on the DS and maybe even the game boy advance (of course not with the same graphical fidelity). Believe me the the old school formula is fine but theSo forget the graphics, forget the lack of a full pokedex and the mostly bad animation whatever, that's all fluff. This game is just fundamentally bad. Someone new to the pokemon games may find this to be a decent game but as a pokemon bet this is literally the same game we have been getting since Red and Blue (once again, save the openish world environment and online features). I also personally like how challenging the Champion changed, that was quite an unexpected bit of fun. All this for a very badly executed open world that is the Wild Area, where it relies mostly of the online services that are very primitive in Y-Comm.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is amazing, it has a great Lore (who thinks that is too fast to finish, please, read the dialogue)
    -the story isn't that bad, although it doesn't have side quests or too many events, but the few events are epic
    -is a pokemon game with a mental change of the "main" rival (Hop), as opposed to previous games such as Lets Go ... Marnie who fights against injustices towards her city and her brother, as well as gym leader, makes you empathize with the character understanding him ...
    Beed takes on the role of the "bad" rival as were the rivals of the GS and Red and Blue games, which intrigues the player into wanting to defeat him (although the rival will still remain of his opinion, with a few small changes from time to time)
    -the music sector is one of the best ever created
    -the technical sector, unfortunately, is not uniform (just think of the animation of Zacian and Zamazenta in the post-league, but, also looking at the positive sides, of Zacian and Zamazenta against Eternatus)
    -the wild areas are, unfortunately, scarce in content, but the dynamax raids to do with friends make you have fun (moreover those of the dlc are much more detailed and more beautiful)    … Expand

    Just spent 60 **** dollars on a half finished game. If you want to play a pokemon game then just download an emulator. You are better off that way.

    Desapointing, bad optimized. Playing since red/blue, I give up the franchise. Wild area its not interesting to play, the frame rate goes way down, giving headache. Bad interaction with your friends, compared to XY gen.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. LA PRIMERA PARTE DE ESTA RESEÑA NO CONTIENE SPOILERS, EN CUANTO HAYA UN MÍNIMO DETALLE SOBRE LA TRAMA HABRÁ UN TEXTO INDICANDO QUE CONTIENE SPOILERS

    Para empezar, me parece una vergüenza que este juego sea el TERCER juego más vendido de la historia de Pokémon, superando casi a POKÉMON ORO Y PLATA. Me da igual que no estén todos los Pokémon y no le deseo el mal a ningún trabajador de Gamefreak pero es que la calidad de este juego respecto a entregas anteriores es pésima.

    -Es un juego de Switch, una consola muy potente la cual ha podido soportar The Witcher 3 y tiene juegos con muy buenos gráficos como Mario Oddyssey o Zelda Breath Of The Wild, sin embargo la segunda entrega de Pokémon en Switch y comienzo de la octava generación visualmente es horrible. No me quiero extenderme mucho aquí pero las texturas son de muy baja calidad, los arboles parecen un chiste, tiene graves problemas de distancia de renderizado en humanos, objetos y sobre todo en Pokémon del área silvestre, esto te corta un montón la experiencia. Los modelos tienen una calidad decente pero los humanos al moverse parecen robots y no solo humanos si no también muchos Pokémon y animaciones de combate. Hay algunas animaciones muy buenas pero en general son o recicladas de 3DS o vagas, por ejemplo que un Pokémon haga cabezazo y su animación sea dar una patada o que un Pokémon haga doble patada y su animación sea un saltito. Esto era justificable debido a las limitaciones de la 3DS y que era una portátil pequeña pero en una consola como la Switch esto es lamentable.

    -Sin duda lo peor de este juego es la narrativa, Pokémon en las últimas generaciones como en la quinta o en la séptima nos había entregado narrativas excelentes, cuyas historias paralelas tenían una cohesión excelente y un desarrollo de personajes excelente como con N en Blanco y Negro o Lyllia en Pokémon Sol y Luna, aquí, como decirlo, la narrativa es una p*** m*****.

    A PARTIR DE AQUÍ HAY SPOILERS

    -El comienzo de la aventura es genial, se siente fresco y algo nuevo que ahora el desafío de los gimnasios se torne deportivo y anual en vez de algo que cualquier entrenador cuando alcanzase la edad de 10 años pudiera hacer, se siente en una región nueva y fresca donde no estamos solos si no que hay más entrenadores que aspiran a ser campeones. Aquí tenemos 3 rivales (Sin contar DLCs) Paul, nuestro amigo de toda la vida que podría haber sido un rival excelente pero su equipo al principio es un chiste (Cuando atrapa al Pokémon legendario tiene un equipo bastante compacto), que le costaba escoger al inicial fuerte al nuestro? No pido que nuestro amigo sea un rival que se crea el p*** amo y que nos insulte etc, solo pido que si lo derrotamos al menos que sea justo y no que en cuanto le ganes te sientas mal por que el pobre es un entrenador pésimo. Su arco es sencillo, su hermano es el campeón, quiere ser igual de fuerte que él, es muy malo, venimos nosotros y otros rivales los cuales le revientan y algunos lo humillan e insultan haciéndole dudar de su sueño y tiene una crisis de identidad en la que decide cambiar su equipo por completo incluido su Pokémon de toda la vida Wooloo al cual lo deja en el PC. Finalmente su hermano se da cuenta de lo que le han hecho y le motiva a seguir con su sueño, le ganamos en la liga, queda fuera del torneo, SE PONE A LLORAR y que es lo primero que hace su Lionel cuando ve que su hermano ha sido descalificado y que su sueño se ha derrumbado? Invitarlo a una cena para celebrar NUESTRA victoria, ole tú. Los otros dos rivales simplemente están desaprovechados, Roxy podría haber sido un buen personaje pero aparece 3 veces en la aventura y no muestran nada más allá de su relación con su hermano o el Team Yell y Berto era un rival muy interesante pero su equipo es un monotype, sencillo y encima cuando parece que íbamos a ver como le pasaba lo mismo que a Paul la líder de gimnasio se lo lleva y la próxima vez que lo vemos ala, ya es el nuevo líder, ha cambiado de equipo y se cuela en la liga en donde nadie le hecha a pesar de estar calificado. Pero sin duda ahora que estamos hablando de la liga me toca hablar de Rose. Rose no es un villano pero si el antagonista y bueno, como decirlo, su motivación es absurda, literalmente quiere destruir Galar solo por que en 1000 años va a haber una crisis que será inevitable, en 1000 años eh, no dice nada de que si no la detienen ya es imparable, simplemente dice que es en 1000 años y como él quiere mucho a Galar por que no desatar un caos en la región en vez de avisarle a las futuras generaciones de lo que se viene y que la tecnología del futuro se encargue de solucionar la crisis? Que va, mejor como este juego no tiene un equipo villano vamos a ser nosotros los que desatemos a Eternatus, el Pokémon más fuerte y destructivo de la historia y vamos a capturarlo para usar su energía a pesar de que pueda destruir la región entera, claro que sí.    … Expand

    I enjoyed my time with Pokemon Sword and Shield, but I ended feeling conflicted. I appreciate many of the changes and felt that it generally respected my time, but I almost felt like a passive participant. The more complex gym challenges had a meatier role, but the narrative shouldn’t have been shoved to the side. Overall, I would recommend it to players who want to have a Pokemon experience, but this one won’t stick with me the way the older ones have.

    Pokemon Sword/Shield is uncharacteristically user-friendly: now there’s no need to backtrack half across the world to heal your entire team of pokemon or to get to a particular city, for example. [Issue#242, p.66]
