Ahh yes, pokemon let's go pikachu. It reminds of my very first pokemon game, Pokemon yellow. The game is really fun with the catching and all but it gets really repetitive but man! The post game is so fun! I also like how you dont need 2 games to complete the dex, just get pokemon GO and your set!

Very casual games, but with pokemon, that's not a problem for me at all. The graphics are kinda nice, the music is outstanding and they absolutely nailed ride and following pokemon (and then forgot how to do it in SwSh and BDSP), wich shouldn't mean so much to me, but it does. It also really nicely remixes the original encounter tables and introduces overworld pokemon to the series!

Bright, fun and very good looking. A very good game for new fans of the Pokemon franchise and full of nostalgia for fans of the older games. Gotta subtract a point for not including all the content from Fire Red and Leaf Green, and could easily be considered too easy for very experienced gamers, but I think most people would be perfectly happy with this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

After I was very skeptical about the game at the beginning, after watching various Twitch streams I got the mood for the game and I haven't regretted it. I finished the whole thing after 28 hours and 04 minutes with 100 Pokémon caught.

    Story:

You don't have to say much about a Pokemon game, it is typical and in the special case of Lets Go Pikachu everything is already known, as it is a Pokemon Yellow remake. But I have to honestly say, I thought it was great because it creates a lot of nostalgic moments, be it puzzles that you can remember or arena fights, etc. Wonderful.

    Graphics / performance:

This is where the game takes the biggest step. The graphics are very pretty and go great with Pokemon. The rendering is very good for the remake. I don't really have anything to criticize here, except that there can sometimes be minimal FPS fluctuations, which I could live with.

    Gameplay:

Also here some changes to Pokemon Yellow and all other Pokemon games before. What is meant, of course, is the lack of random battles in the grass, etc. At first I was skeptical, but I have to share the opinion of most of the people that it fitted in very well and also felt very good to see the Pokemon on the screen that you want to attack in the grass or in the case of Lets GO wants to catch. I found the level system with the new capture system similar to the Pokemon GO mobile app very pleasant. I didn’t miss to weaken individual Pokemon in battle first in order to be able to catch them then. Especially because there are MASSIVE lots of Pokemon Trainer battles.

I never had experience problems, the EP divider, which now applies to the entire team, was of course very helpful again. In terms of difficulty, the game was incredibly easy at the beginning, because Pikachu and Eevee are also simply OP, but then became more difficult over time. Overall, the top 4 was no longer a problem with my team from Pikachu, Vulnona, Entoron, Turtok, Bisaflor, Charizard (LvL 60-66).

The controls always ran smoothly, only when throwing the Pokeballs to the right with the JoyCon I sometimes had a bit of problems.

The only thing I didn't really use was the candy system, there are just so damn many that you quickly feel overwhelmed.

    Content:

Even after the top 4, there is still a lot to do, which I will take a moment to do. E.g. visit some people (boarding house, etc.), complete Pokedex or defeat the master trainers for each Pokemon. You can also rematch the top 4 and the arena manager from Vertania City.

    Conclusion:

I have to say I'm looking forward to the upcoming Pokemon Game 2019. I would love to catch and level a mix of the current Pokemon Go-like and see the old random fights. I'm also looking forward to the next generation and of course the hopefully existing possibility of catching all previously available Pokemon in a new graphic splendor.

There is nothing else to say about Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu itself than that I had a lot of fun and was really pleasantly surprised. For me 9/10 special sweets.

I'm an old school, die-hard Pokemon fan. I spent hundreds of hours playing the old Pokemon games (red, blue, green, gold and silver, then Fire red, Emerald green etc.), and I've watched the anime since the very beginning.

Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! is the 2018 version of the proverbial Game Boy Color games. The original 152 Pokemon, the Kanto region. The game added graphical enhancements (not to mention Pokemon roaming freely in the wild) and rewarding little features such as being able to ride your favorite Pokemon (you can fly on your Charizard, c'mon, what's not to like!).

What most people seem not to be okay with is the 'Pokemon Go'-like battle/capture mechanics. Gym battles and battling against other trainers remain loyal to the franchise, what has really changed is how you weaken Pokemon before you catch them. You don't grind and battle Pokemon in the wild like in the old days. Now it's basically the Pokemon-Go system, where you simply lure them with berries and what not, keep throwing a pokeball until you get them, and by capturing the same Pokemon over and over, you level up your Pokemon.

In my personal opinion, that absolutely does NOT mean that the developers did a bad job, or that the game is any less interesting or engaging. It's bringing in people from a different generation, people that have experienced this much beloved franchise in a different way than we did.

The only real issue that I see (and that's based on a completely personal reason) is that if you prefer to play with your Switch docked like I do, you must get used to only using one of the joy cons to move around, catch Pokemon etc. So I'm rating it 8. Otherwise it would've been a 9.

All in all, Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! is a gem for real Pokemon fans, young and old. And for those that witnessed how times (and gaming) has changed, it brings a fresh breeze that still carries that wonderful scent we all remember playing the older games that were released 22 years ago.

This game is perfect for beginners and was a perfect gap for Pokemon Sword and Shield. although when Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield releases at the end of 2019 there is no point in picking up Let's Go Pikachu or Eevee.

This game is unique in that fact that it balances all of the possibilities in Pokemon better than I've ever seen. There is statistical EV and IV training for serious competitors, an easier shiny hunting method for collectors, a spin off story to the generation one games, and simple gameplay for the most casual players.

This game offers a plethora of paths to choose from as a Pokemon Trainer, and makes every one of them provide the player with hours upon hours of fun. As a filler between the last Pokemon games, and the new ones coming to the Switch, Let's Go Pikachu will keep Pokemon casuals satisfied.

-Being able to see what Pokemon are in the surronding area not only helps make avoiding wild encounters a lot easier, but it also helps give you a better sense of what kinds of Pokemon are in the area if there’s a specific one you are looking for.

    Cons:
-Very easy. Veteran Pokemon players should be able to get through this with little to no trouble
-No option to turn off XP share.
-No way to battle wild Pokemon aside from legendaries, making it more difficult to grind for experience.
-While being able to see the wild Pokemon from the overworld helps make avoiding them easier, it kinda defeats the purpose of Repels since there is rarely a situation where you can’t avoid running into a Pokemon
-The gyro controls for throwing a pokeball can be a bit awkward at times.
-No option to play with the pro controller or even just both joycons in the grip despite the fact that you can play with both joycons when they are connected to the switch in handheld mode. Why exactly?
-Mew is locked behind a $50 paywall in the form of the pokeball plus

Final verdict: The game was better than I was expecting it to be, and I quite enjoyed my time with it. If your new to Pokemon or if you haven’t played Pokemon in a long time and are looking to get back into it, I would definetly reccomend checking it out! Even if you are a veteran player like me you should get some enjoyment from this title, especially if you are nostalgic for generation 1.

Prós: Visual bonito, original e fiel a ambientação do antigo.

Yes, it lacks a lot of the things added in recent games but that is the point - this is a breather to reintroduce Pokemon in the era of the Switch. And it succeeds in what it tries to be - a reintroduction and an extension of the mobile game. Highly addictive.

    I. loved. these. games. LGPE is a wonderfully nostalgic, heartwarming remake of my favorite pokemon generation. I was hesitant at first that ending wild pokemon battles would compromise the game's playability, but I actually ended up liking the new mechanic, a lot more than wild battles. they could make it a little more complex, but I do like the catching mechanic. I wont deny that LGPE are easy, but they are also FUN. The only thing I would like to see improved is post-game content. there's completing the pokedex, shiny pokemon hunting and the master trainers which are all great, but I would have liked to see the Sevii islands like in Fire Red and Leaf Green.

these 0/10 reviews are bogus. Nintendo has been upfront since day one of the release, stating it would be a game to introduce new players (young, old, and yes Pokemon GO players) into pokemon console gaming. People don't realize that this was an EXTRA pokemon game release, we normally only get a new game every two years. we got USUM in 2017, LGPE this year and we're getting the new generation in 2019... if you don't want to buy the game then don't. Nintendo thought outside of the box with this new concept, and it's clearly paid off. so continue to complain as much as you want, but it looks like this is going to end up becoming a core series along side the new generations of pokemon games, and I will happily be first in line getting each new remake.

Intro: Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu (and Eevee) are great games for a laid back casual experience. However, for those who seek a competitive for deep adventure, these games may not be for you.

What is it/The Good: For those who don't know, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and it's counterpart Pokemon Let's Go Eevee are the newest titles for the Pokemon Franchise. Setting place in the original Pokemon region known as Kanto, this game takes a classic journey into the modern day by replacing traditional wild encounters with catching Pokemon like in Pokemon Go, the popular mobile game. This region still has the eight gym leaders, elite four, champion, rival battles, and trainer battles just like the other games. Also, the OG evil team, Team Rocket, returns in this game along with the goofy trio Jessie, James, and Meowth. The game also makes the world of Kanto into a place full of life by re-adding Pokemon following your character and introduces wild roaming Pokemon on the routes in Kanto, a feature that I have seen many times in the community, and also the ability to ride certain Pokemon like Charizard and Arcanine like the Pokemon Trainer you are. Speaking of which, the game also limits the soon to be 900 Pokemon to the original 151 and Alolan Form Pokemon from the Sun and Moon games, making it easier for anyone to fill and at least fill the Kanto Dex. Catching Pokemon in this game is just like how it is in Pokemon Go. It can sometimes be tricky to throw a Pokeball in the beginning, but over time I was able to get it down no problem so it shouldn't be too hard for others to get the motion controls down. Plus, you can always put the Switch in handheld mode and move it around your area and snag that pocket monster. Along with the catching mechanics, mobile trainers can now transfer their Pokemon from Pokemon Go to either Let's Go title and train their team on the Switch. However, once a Pokemon is sent away like this, they cannot return to Pokemon Go. Another thing to mention is that the games do a very decent job with visuals/graphics, while others might not enjoy it as much, the games do look great for the most part. In other words, it's not bad to look at.

The Bad: Along with what I believe was good, it's time to look at what many people are complaining about. Along with what the games added, Game Freak also took away many different features that modern Pokemon games are known for. Features such as EV's and IV's, breeding, egg moves, and etc. to make this game more of a casual and easy to pick title than previous titles. By removing these factors, many competitive and old-school fans are upset that these games were not what they have envisioned the first RPG Pokemon game on the Switch would be like. Also while some people may not mind this, many also dislike the removal of all other Pokemon from different generations. However, to be fair the games were not made for a competitive experience and were not marketed for competitive players at all. Although I can understand why these changes do upset many fans of the franchise. Also, the price of $60 is a bit too much even for me.

Overall Thoughts: Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are great games for casuals and beginners to pick up. There are definitely not the greatest Pokemon games and that's fine. While they are not the best for veteran and competitive players, they definitely great gifts for the holiday along with other Switch games like Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Legend of Zelda BOTW, and Splatoon 2. If you are still unsure about the games, well that's fine too. WIth the next main Pokemon titles coming in 2019, all of the removed competitive features and Pokemon from other generations will be making a come back in those games so you can wait on that. Plus, the Let's Go games might get a price drop around those times as well. Overall though, these games are great for a casual and relax experience and should be seen as just that. For more information, I would recommend looking at different Pokemon Youtubers and see what they think about the game, look at gameplay footage, and look at reviews from all angles. I hope you've enjoyed this long first review and I'll try and do more like this in the future. Also, excuse me for any major grammar mistakes I might have missed.

This game is arguably marketed for a younger audience who have either heard of Pokemon at one point or those (the curious) who have never heard of it before. Its bright lights and fantastic visuals draw the user into the world of Pokemon. One of my favorite parts about this game is the introduction of the Pokeball plus controller and that you can play the entire game with just a simple ball and a thumb-stick. The games story has not changed from its original release and is just as charming as I remember it to be.

Overall the world of Pokemon has changed over the years and I personally believe that this entry is an excellent step in the right direction for the next generation of Pokemon games.

I’ll be reviewing this from the five pillars of Gaming, Story, Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, and Controls.

Let’s begin with the story – You’re a Pokemon trainer, and your goal is to become a Pokemon Master, yeah and along the way you just happen to encounter this evil organization bent on world domination, and you, being that 10-year-old Pokemon Master, are the only one who can help.
I’ll be reviewing this from the five pillars of Gaming, Story, Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, and Controls.

Let’s begin with the story –

You’re a Pokemon trainer, and your goal is to become a Pokemon Master, yeah and along the way you just happen to encounter this evil organization bent on world domination, and you, being that 10-year-old Pokemon Master, are the only one who can help.
Yup, this is basically Pokemon Yellow all over again, and that isn’t a bad thing, but again, 12th and 13th time you’ve may have done this…

Story checks out, but Gameplay is the most controversial change -
Capturing Pokemon – Bonus’s are offered for better captures like Candies, and after capturing multiple Pokemon you can capture one with better stats as a possibility.
Pokemon appear on the over-world, while still mostly constrained to the spawning areas, caves, grass, water, you can see them, avoid them if you want or force the encounter you want, instead of random encounters.

Some people were worried about wild Pokemon battles being gone and the experience Grind, but in this game, you gain XP from multiple sources which balances out the lack of random wild battles, but I still feel like it is somewhat missed.
Some people feel there are plenty of Pokemon trainers in place of wild battles, but I still find it would be better to be able to test these new Pokemon captures in a wild battle before a trainer battle, but eh…
Ridable Pokemon replace the old bike, which is pretty cool because I always wanted to fly on a Charizard in Gen 1

And this is a remake/remaster/ Pokemon GO and Yellow smashed together, so yes, I can now ride Charizard…and Dragonite, and Rapidash, and Arcanine…
This is the first Pokemon main series game that is co-opable, but the second player is more of a tag along helper than a primary player themselves.
It is very great that you can play this game with your child, cousin, friend, whomever wants to play with you can now join in the fun without getting too deeply involved in the game.

The starter Pokemon are very focused on here -
Pikachu and Eevee are the ones that are focused on most out of all the Pokemon – they have unique cutscenes, animations, and interactivity.
Pikachu has some special moves to compensate for it being an electric type as a starter, but Eevee can learn a special move from its Eeveeluition forms, just don’t judge whomever created the names, cause they are really bad, like Baddy bad.

These new moves have been called OP by many people who have played the game extensively, and to that I simply say you could get moves like Bubble Beam, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Ice Beam, Rock Slide, and Body Slam fairly early in the original Gen 1 games.
These kinds of games require a player to limit themselves if they want a challenge, because you are not required to keep either Eevee or Pikachu in your team.
The user interface is completely different, cleaned up menus seem much more modern and look great.

Go Park is the transferable location where you can send your Pokemon from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Let’s GO, via mini games, it’s great if you played Pokemon GO a lot and will save you a lot of time if you want to challenge every master trainer in the game.
Because every Master Trainer requires each and every Pokemon, Pidgey, Pidgiotto, Pidgiot… Caterpie, Metepod, Butterfree…
Every one of them, and… yeah Pokemon Go transferring will save you that time of once again, recapturing them all…

Controls would be the next biggest change because this game is reliant on motion controls…
Motion controls are not good, handheld mode works better, but the accuracy of throwing a ball via a joycon is similar to Pokemon GO, it’s not the best.
And the capture chances always feel random, sometimes a low-level Pokemon will just break free instantly for no discernible reason.
But to add to this you can buy a Pokeball accessory that contains Mew, more importantly, you can use the Pokeball as a special Joy-con controller, which is supposed to enhance the experience… but… yeah.

I’ll leave that to your personal opinion, is $40 worth the money to play a Pokemon game with a Pokeball controller, that’s a hard sale for me, but maybe not for you.
Finally let’s finish with sounds, and from the music to the sound effects, it’s gen 1 and it never sounded so good. They sound great and invoke a great amount of nostalgia.
Pokémon is really great, and Let’s GO Pikachu will bring Kanto back once again, and finally to the big screen.

If you don’t enjoy Pokemon GO, you probably will not enjoy this, but if you can enjoy this game a nice nod back to the gen 1 series, you’ll probably have a good time with this game.
I have tried to avoid all spoilers of this game by using certain footage for those whom haven’t had a chance to play this generation yet.

I was surprised to see how much fun it was. Things that I had found bad, like the end of the random battles, proved much better than I had expected. I watched on TV all my life around me and even the pokéball pitch that I had condemned so much in the end was fun. I played with him for wanting to play and I got infected. I saw how wrong I was to have judged a game, only by a few traillers, condemning the changes, without even experiencing them. I was captivated by the game. I had fun in a Pokémon game, something that had not happened for years, since there was no fun in the others, which were more centered, so to speak. Let's Go Pikachu was a fun experience and decides to buy the Eevee version, as I found the Eevee cute and got the female with the heart-shaped spot on the tail. Me and my boyfriend happened to switch pokémons, because of the exclusive versions. All I have to say is: Those who are undecided or who condemned the game, give it a chance. But a real chance. The game is fun and exciting. Besides the graphics are beautiful and the music is wonderful. There were minor changes in the events, which made it even better. I never imagined, a few months ago, that I would be praising a game I had condemned. But here I am, defending Let's Go and recommending to my friends. Expand

It is a faithful remake aside from some extra features and the new capture mechanic. I was skeptical about the capture mechanic at first but now I'm completely for it. Random battles often got quite tedious and they basically made it cleaner and easier. I think if they refined it a bit, it would be a step in the right direction. The old method let you strategically place status effects and lower their health to increase your odds and that was what was missing here. All you choose is which ball to choose and maybe throw a berry. Still, I think giving a 1 or 2 score just because of the new capture system is just ignorant. What I really wish was different was the pikachu/evee part. You can play with your respective partner, but only them. Pokemon Amie for X&Y had this feature with EVERY pokemon, so I feel like they took a step backwards with that. The post game is also severely lacking. I don't understand the point/fun of master trainers. I did enjoy having the ability to travel with another pokemon of my choice though. I'm excited to see what their next game will be as I see this as a stepping stone for the devs, to test out the switch's capabilities and to play around with new mechanics. Expand

As time went by the number of people playing it decreased but, the community was still strong because of all the improvements made to it. Early this year the Pokemon Company announced two new Pokemon games which were an untitled Gen 8 Pokemon game and Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu. Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are basically remakes of Pokemon Yellow and the main difference with this game and the original was the graphical upgrade and the gameplay would integrate a lot of elements introduced in Pokemon Go. Like the popularity of Pokemon Go the announcement of these Let’s Go games were mixed. After playing Let’s Go Pikachu I now consider this one of my favorite Pokemon games I have ever played.

Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee storywise are the same thing; the only difference is the starter you get in the beginning. The game starts with you and your rival visiting Professor Oak and getting your respective Pokemon and in my case I got Pikachu. Now after getting your Pokemon your adventure begins; which means you catch Pokemon in the wild, train them, eventually face a gym leaders, battle the elite 4, and finally face off with the champion and that's game. This game also has you encountering Team Rocket a number of times and stopping them from doing mischievous deeds. This game also features returning Team Rocket members Jessie and James many are familiar with via Pokemon Yellow or the Pokemon anime. While storywise this game is pretty straightforward, there are many times during the game where moments with certain character enhanced the experience. It was pretty neat to see Blue again, and there was a really nice moment with Lorelei that helped make her stand out more other than just being an Elite 4 member.

Battles was something many were worried about because as much as I enjoyed Pokemon Go, the battle weren't exactly the best part of the game. And with the information being released about no more battling wild Pokemon the question was how will we gain experience in this game. There are main trainers you encounter as you go from city to route to cave to city. As for wild Pokemon themselves you only are able to catch them like you did in Pokemon Go and the process is literally the same where you can give Pokemon berries and the effect of each berry is different. If you are using a joy con you just fling the control in the direction the Pokemon is or if you are playing in handheld you can aim the throw with the control stick or use the gyro and then press A to throw the ball. Which begs the question why you can’t use your Pro Controller in this game because the controller does have gyro and what not. A really great feature added to this game with wild encounterment is that Pokemon can be seen in the overworld, so now you just have to go after the Pokemon you want instead of getting the same thing again and again.

As for complaints I have with this game, I do think this is the easiest Pokemon game I have ever played, and with your starters its makes this game a joke. Your starters can learn new type of moves for example Eevee can learn Fire, Water, Dark, Psychic, Ice, and Fairy Type moves and some of them have guarantee status ailments, and some moves can have Eevee go first every time. It’s also unfortunate that abilities are not present in this game because the intention with this game is to welcome newcomers and people nostalgic towards the original game, and in order to do that is by not bringing in the new features introduced in later games. Which I understand why the developers decided to go that route, but for me Pokemon always felt like a nice introduction into RPG’s and the fact that the developers took out features introduced in recent games that weren’t really that complicated to understand, I just fine funny.

This game has been talked bad about by a lot of fans of Pokemon. That hasn’t stopped the success of this game and really I am glad that it is doing well. This game was easy and I was fine with that. I needed a game like this because I don’t always want to play a game where you have to focus on a lot happening and in this game it was simple: catch Pokemon, battle trainers, and win that's it. This was a nice nostalgia trip for me too because I did grow up watching and playing Pokemon and this was just a great time. If the Pokemon Company wants to make more Let’s Go games true be told I would be fine with it because I know that the main series Pokemon games are still coming. Gen 8 will not play like Let’s Go but, I do hope that some features like wild Pokemon showing up in the wild is a returning feature. The music in this game is fantastic and another thing that is exciting me for Gen 8. I would recommend people to try out Pokemon Let’s Go because it is a really great time, and they may have the same feeling coming out after playing it which is excitement for what is to come for Pokemon on Switch.

    TL;DR: A pokemon game.
Long review: this game is a pokemon game, if you like the other 28 previous entries, you're going to like this. It has a few changes that you may make you think twice (like how to capture pokemon) but it blends well with the game. The game has one of the higher inmersion in the franchise. The cut-scenes are great and the aesthetics is one of the best ones so far.

The game it's a bit easie than previous ones, but you can make it harder by not abusing the catch streak to lvl up.
They have made a lot easier to get shinies and pokemons with perfect IV, so if you like to go for shiny/IV hunting, you're going to like this.
Overall a solid game, it could have been better with a little more dept, but still a solid entry.

Well, I saw her enjoying herself so much and sometimes I looked, I confess I was amazed at the level of detail and the kantou nostalgia took me. I decided to give them a chance for the "junk game," as many people said, and I discovered that they were just blind haters. Because when playing, I was excited. My niece had Let's Go Eevee and as I played, I was overwhelmed by a strong feeling of nostalgia and I became excited with each catch, interact with the Pokémon, they followed you, being the difference interactions. I decided to buy Let's Go Eevee to have a game of mine and not have to make an excuse to stay at my sister's house when I wanted to play. I started playing in my house and I was falling in love. Soon I saw that the criticisms I read so much were unfounded and the result of haters, which only turned away hatred blind and intense. I researched and saw that it would be a parallel line of games and I loved that idea. It will have the traditional line and this parallel. I was thrilled when my world expanded at the end of the Elite Four. Seriously, I was happy when I saw myself flying high in the sky, crossing the map at will on the back of my Charizard. Seeing everything from above was indescribable and the challenge of the Masters, very challenging. I thought to pass them and luckily, I bought pokéball plus. I was able to challenge Mew's master. I finished Let's Go Eevee, I bought Let's Go Pikachu. I'm in Elite Four and I barely see the time of my world being expanded. I super indicate this game and I ask to ignore the haters. Give the game a chance, just like I did and I'm glad I gave it a chance, otherwise I would have missed a fun and exciting game. I never had fun in a game of pokémon, as it was in these games. They caught me by surprise and I loved it. Expand

Pokemon Let's Go does well what it is supposed to do : it's a nice and fun HD remake of the first generation of Pokemon games. Seeing pokemons roaming the overworld was a dream come true, and the new pokemon catching mechanic didn't bother me. The old mechanic of having to weaken pokemons sometimes felt like a complicated grind to me, either way I don't have a preference for what the catching mechanics should be for the next core game.

But, of course, it is a Game Freak game, meaning a complete lack of ambition. The game would be so much better if Game Freak decided to expand and create fewer but bigger games. The NPCs are just standing there, not moving and all looking the same. Game Freak didn't bother giving them at least different hair and clothes colors. This makes the world feel dead or weird at times. The menus are still convoluted. The game requires so many buttons presses for the simplest of actions, like healing pokemons and looking at the map. Riding Charizard is cool until you need to go through a building to reach the next area : you then have to go into the menu and put him back in the Pokeball and take him out again once you went through...

Final point, I am clearly upset by the one joycon controls. The fact that Game Freak forced them into our throats and didn't implement the Pro Controller compatibility is such a cheap move to entice customers to buy the pokeball plus, which, by the way, is the only way to get Mew. When will the masterminds at Game Freak finally be replaced by younger people who love gaming and understand gamers ? Who knows.

Overall, the Pokemon franchise is so charming that, despite its obvious flaws, it is still a pleasure to play these games. They deserve 8/10 for me.

They change some game play since you catch most wild pokemon instead of battling them(some you do still battle). This isnt that big of a deal to me but something i would not want to carry over into the 2019 gen 8. The throwing creates its own lvl of difficulty and strategy as well. One must learn to pay attention to the pokemons animations and do not just toss balls at it. I think i would quite enjoy a combination of fighting and throwing. Since throwing the ball, especially when you have the pokeball plus, is really immersive and fun way to play the game. I recommend getting the pokeball plus as i think it is worth the price which is the same as other joycons. You can also take your pokemon out for walks and play with it to hear it make noises from the controller. Which honestly is such a great idea.

one other thing i really enjoyed that i hope makes it into gen 8 is pokemon following you. This is something fans have been wanting for a long time. I also enjoy being able to see the pokemon in the world. This makes the game a really immersive experience seeing and hearing the pokemon.

things i think are a bit disappointing is the fact that you can not play mini games in the arcade which is why i gave this a 9/10. There is no reason not to be at least able to have mini games in the arcade. This could have really raised the fun aspect of the game. Another thing is although i do highly recommend the pokeball plus as a controller i do not think including mew in it is very fair to other players. I like the idea of it coming with a pokemon so im not exactly sure what they should have done. but this is the only way to get mew so i just dont think thats fair. However it is worth the price as a controller and is a lot of fun.

While the game has a few changes it really sticks to the core of what makes pokemon pokemon. It is a full fledged pokemon game and i am personally very happy with my purchase.

A simple, nostalgic return to the Kanto region, offers little if you are a series veteran eager for complexity and challenge. But if that's not your main interest, Pokemon Let's Go has it all! It's a simple, cute and fun game that will keep you hooked for hours. An excellent starting point for newcomers, and a great nostalgia trip for those in a search for one.

It’s hard to make sense of the game that’s basically a Switch port of iOS/Android remake of Pokemon Red/Green. Is it a step forward, step backward – or maybe just a shameless cash-in? Turns out, it’s a great remake – the world looks exactly as we imagined it back when we were staring at black and white pixels of original Red/Green. [Issue#235, p.44]
