    Una gran evolución de la saga Pikmin, que pule y perfecciona las mecánicas del juego. Junto a traer nuevas formas de enfrentar los desafíos y un verdadero post game a la altura de la saga.

    Lo único Malo son algunas clases de Pikmin desaprovechadas o redundantes y su escasa dificultad que en la historia principal lastra la experiencia, pero el post game recupera el reto.

    le mie aspettative verso questo quarto capitolo erano indubbiamente alte, ma mai mi sarei immaginato che sarebbero riusciti a migliorare così tanto il già ottimo terzo capitolo, rendendo di fatti pikmin 4 una delle migliori esclusive disponibili su nintendo switch.
    partendo subito da una delle cose che potrebbe far allontanare molti da questa serie il limite temporale, se nel terzo    le mie aspettative verso questo quarto capitolo erano indubbiamente alte, ma mai mi sarei immaginato che sarebbero riusciti a migliorare così tanto il già ottimo terzo capitolo, rendendo di fatti pikmin 4 una delle migliori esclusive disponibili su nintendo switch.
    partendo subito da una delle cose che potrebbe far allontanare molti da questa serie il limite temporale, se nel terzo capitolo era molto difficile finire i giorni a disposizione, con questo nuovo gioco si è eliminata completamente questa meccanica dandoci la completa liberta di prenderci i nostri tempi, e questo mi ha molto invogliato a completare ogni singolo livello al 100%.ad eccezione di una modalità, che ci chiederà di rivisitare i livelli con un altro personaggio, dandoci come tempo massimo solo 15 giorni, non avendola fatta non saprei se come in pikmin 3 si può estendere il tempo a nostra disposizione, ma dai primi livelli fatti non mi sembrava.
    in questo nuovo gioco il numero di pikmin utilizzabili è salito a quota 9.
    aggiungendo il pikmin ghiacciato che avrà l'abilità di ghiacciare sia i nemici sia l'acqua per poter far attraversare qualsiasi pikmin, però bisogna stare attenti perchè se si sconfigge un nemico quando è ghiacciato non lo si potrà riportare alla nave.
    mentre il secondo pikmin nuovo è quello iridescente, che oltre ad avere praticamente tutte le resistenze degli altri pikmin messi insieme aggiungerà un intera modalità da tower defense, dove appunto dovremo difendere dei nidi dal assalto di nemici, e nella fase iniziale dovremo raccogliere le astroschegge di mario galaxy per poter aumentare la quantità di pikmin iridescente.
    potremo anche dare ordini ad occin per farlo restare a guardia di un obiettivo mentre noi andiamo in giro a caccia di astroschegge.
    però questo gran numero di pikmin ha portato a delle limitazioni, rendendo il pikmin rosso, giallo, blu, e ghiaccio quelli principali che useremo più spesso nel gioco base.
    mentre il pikmin roccia, volante, viola, bianco li troveremo raramente nei sotterranei, e quindi difficilmente li potremo avere in grandi quantità.
    e anche il fatto che si potrà portare con sé soltanto tre tipologie di pikmin alla volta sarà un po limitante, anche se il gioco ci consiglia sempre quali sono fondamentali, togliendo il rischio di non prendere il pikmin blu e poi trovarci vaste zone acquatiche.
    se in pikmin 3 non mi era piaciuto molto il fatto di dover gestire tre capitani differenti, in questo gioco è stato introdotto occin rendendo la divisione dei compiti molto meno confusionaria, e anzi introducendo molte più possibilità quando useremo occin come cavalcatura, risultando essere la più gradita introduzione del titolo.
    ma il titolo non si ferma solo a questi cambiamenti.
    la scala dei livelli è diventata molto maggiore, ma senza risultare dispersiva grazie alle molte scorciatoie sbloccabili, e anche alla possibilità di spostare la propria astronave per non dover passare ore per poter portare i vari tesori nella nostra astronave.
    le mappe in generale aggiungendo molte più cose da fare in una singolo giorno, e quindi bisognerà riuscire a gestire bene le cose da fare per farlo nella maniera più efficiente.
    e questa caratteristica viene maggiormente incentivata durante le battaglie dandori. dove bisognerà riuscire a gestirsi al meglio per raccogliere il maggior numero di tesori nel tempo minore possibile, per poter ottenere le medaglie più elevate.
    ma oltre a queste modalità basate sul gestire al meglio le nostre azioni ci saranno anche un'altra categoria di sotterranei, dove dovremo percorrere dei livelli e scendere sempre più in profondità per raggiungere il boss.
    ed è proprio in questi livelli dove potremo utilizzare di più i dimenticati pikmin roccia, volanti, viola, e bianchi.
    un'altra piccola semplificazione durante gli scontri contro i boss e che capiterà che magari tutti i nostri pikmin faranno una brutta fine brutalmente schiacciati, ma in quelle situazione il gioco ci permetterà di caricare il piano e provare di nuovo, senza nessun tipo di perdita.
    e infine una delle ultime aggiunte è il campo base che si allargherà con più persone salveremo durante il gioco, andando ad aggiungere sempre più possibilità.
    come ad esempio poter potenziare occin e il protagonista tramite un nuovo materiale che troveremo all'interno dei livelli.
    o magari potremo sbloccare la possibilità di leggere descrizioni di tutti i nemici e di tutti i tesori.
    pikmin 4 è un titolo davvero senza precedenti per la serie, che amplifica, e semplifica ma senza renderlo banale, e che quindi resta sempre divertente, e con la voglia di esplorare sempre più affondo ogni singola mappa per scovare ogni singolo tesoro disseminato nel titolo.

    Pikmin 4 is an example of a game in which I naturally strive to 100% it by the sheer amount of fun that was packed along with it. The levels are all enjoyable to explore and motivates you to try and find every collectable you can. The added caves and Dandori sections add to this, allowing for a change of pace in gameplay. There's an incredible amount of post-game content to do which was aPikmin 4 is an example of a game in which I naturally strive to 100% it by the sheer amount of fun that was packed along with it. While the game did tend to hold your hand in some regards, it also provided a good challenge while also maintaining the accessibility the developers mentioned striving for with the creation of this game.     It's visuals are realistic and stunning while also keeping that cartoony Nintendo feel. The areas you explore are vast, unique and beautiful. From garden to seashore to campground, this game always brings a high quality and immersive experience like no other. The gameplay keeps what makes Pikmin 1, 2 and 3 so beloved and improves upon it in    Pikmin 4 is truly one the greatest games.

    The gameplay keeps what makes Pikmin 1, 2 and 3 so beloved and improves upon it in every way imaginable. This game is a new high for Nintendo and the Pikmin series as a hole. All 7 Pikmin types return and some new faces show up. This allows for anyone to play with their favorites.

    It's a pretty long game if your trying to do everything in it and there is plenty of side content to get your Dandori skills. You need not worry about time limits in the main campaign but obviously going fast is part of the Pikmin experience.

    All in all, Pikmin 4 is my game of the year and contender for best game of all time. The visuals, the gameplay and the length have all being either reworked or improved upon. 10 years was worth the wait for this Masterpiece.    … Expand

    Pikmin titles are "dandori" games, meaning you plan and manage human ressource, the same way a manager do during a work rush. There is planning and improvisation combined. I saw potential in the series as early as the GameCube, and I knew people would love it if they gave it a try, and attention, the same way Animal Crossing was somehow very niche at its debut. What happened to AnimalPikmin titles are "dandori" games, meaning you plan and manage human ressource, the same way a manager do during a work rush. There is planning and improvisation combined. What happened to Animal Crossing, that's what is it happening right now with Pikmin, the Nintendo Switch being as popular as it is, and Pikmin 4 being the breath-of-the-wild-ification of the series, meaning maps are giant and there is way more content in 4 than in the previous ones all combined. They weren't kidding. As loud as the Twitter fanbase can be, don't judge Pikmin 4 for its popularity. There is a generously long free demo to get what the gameplay is all about. It's like the nintendo-fication of sort-of-a real time strategy game, in the same way Mario Kart is a nintendo-fication of the course genre, or as Splatoon for simple shooters. It's the genre..., but more, y'a know ? With fun levels, rich interactions and power-ups. Pikmin 4 is what Nintendo does best. When you look at the history of its creation, you get why they put that much effort into it. I would like to see neglected franchises they created getting the same treatment as well.     Pikmin 4 takes everything I loved about Pikmin 1 and 2, combines and enhances them for one of the most enjoyable games I have played on the switch. This is the perfect entry to the series for any new Pikmin fan. Fantastic step up from Pikmin 3, just hope it doesn't take a decade for the next game to come out...

People always say Pikmin is a childish game, I get it. but I feel like it's meant to be like this. fun for the whole family type thing. my first GameCube game was Pikmin along with Luigi's mansion so maybe I'm biased but give this game a playthrough. buy a physical so if you don't really like it you can sell it. but this game is nearly (if not better) than pikmin 2. so if you've ever played pikmin 2 you'll love this one. but this game does have its downsides. not as many as some people thing but still downsides. I feel like louie's side quest (normally the last one in the game other than sage leaf) was a very last minute "oh we need a bit more content" type quest. I think that the dog (oatchi) is very cute yes but he made the game too easy, I've played Pikmin since I was young and i still found myself riding around on oatchi almost everywhere. and it feels like they wanted that. the whole game, maybe for newer fans? rewind feature is cool but I think it should have been more limited. I only lost about 50 pikmin. The final boss was very cool and better than pikmin 3s final boss (in my opinion) but It's just the same all elements coming together in one big enemy you kill. but what else are they going to do realistically. I didn't really like tears very much so this releasing after was a good move for them. and this game is my favorite switch game no doubt… Expand

    Best Pikmin so far, it has taken the best parts of every other pikmin game and put them together. I think some people expected more from the story but I actually found it quite enjoyable, lots of little things to you might notice as a fan of the series. From having the most levels, to having the largest level in PIkmin history, to the new underground mechanic that increased the size of each world, there's a ton of stuff packed into a game for a series that, frankly, usually doesn't feature as many things in it as I had always hoped in the past. It'sPikmin 4 is easily the most robust and feature packed Pikmin game that's ever been made. From having the most levels, to having the largest level in PIkmin history, to the new underground mechanic that increased the size of each world, there's a ton of stuff packed into a game for a series that, frankly, usually doesn't feature as many things in it as I had always hoped in the past. It's easily my favorite Pikmin game that I've played now and, if it weren't for the absolutely atrocious loading times that plague this game, it would have been right there in my top 5 Switch games I've ever played. It feels like they had to sacrifice the loading times to get that rock solid 30 FPS as the game never dips once below that, at least from what I could tell, even when there's a ton of creatures on screen at once. I can't recommend this enough for anyone with a Switch.… Expand

    Now for things I like, the upgrade system in the game is a nice way of making the player feel stronger even if they can only use 3 types of Pikmin, dandori challenges are time trials that test you on how fast you can get high scores with whatever Pikmin they give you (also with your oatchi upgrades) they are fast-paced and probably the most fun part of the game for me, the bosses of the caves present some forms of actual difficulty that I think anyone can appreciate

    from what I can tell the game is a revamp of the series with an alternate timeline which makes it a great game compared to other games before it, I think it would be better with a patch that allows the player to increase the difficulty but in the franchise, I think it will be viewed as the worst of the Pikmin games once the hype dies down not saying it's bad but the other 3 objectively better

    the biggest reason for this is the dead overworlds that have 0 enemies respawns to keep you engaged and while I said it's a noob friendly game I think pikmin 3 is a better place to start    … Expand

Los asaltos nocturnos también aportan un cambio de aire, siendo esencialmente desafíos tower defense, cambiando el gameplay del juego.     Great game. Definitely the best in the whole Pikmin series. There is just so much stuff to do, and keep yourself busy with. It's is easy enough for new players and young kids to have an enjoyable time, while still offering a good enough challenge for returning veterans. And if it's not quite challenging enough for older players, there are several references to the older games that they canGreat game. Definitely the best in the whole Pikmin series.     O jogo que me fez parar de jogar Breath of the wild.
    Muito bonito, a gameplay é totalmente polida e agradável, tanto para os novos jogadores quanto para os veteranos. Estar localizado para o Brasil ajuda bastante, espero que a série encontre seu lugar ao sol após essa iteração.

    Very good looking game with unique gameplay, the new features don't feel like they bloat the game for the sake of it. Many QoL features have been added and they are great. The tutorial is a bit dense but most interactions can be skipped, I don't think that fraction of total playtime detracts from the experience.

    This is quite possibly the best looking switch game ever made and still runs great with many amazing rts mechanics as well as optional features for newcomers, anyone who says otherwise was what is known as a "Dandori issue"

    As a long time Pikmin fan I was kinda worried about the game after playing the demo concerned it was oversimplified and too easy but I couldn't be far from the truth. While it doesn't reach the difficulty of series past like 2, it is an absolutely fantastic game with a surprising amount of content and callbacks for the fans. PLAY THIS GAME!!!

    O defeito do jogo para mim é a quebra de ritmo voltando para base e os blocos de ajuda que as vezes polui a tela do jogo.
    O ponto alto do jogo são os desafios e combate dandori é muito divertido e desafiador.
    Antes de jogar suspeitava que o acréscimo do cachorro na campanha poderia facilitar demais as coisas, mas não é o caso, ele se encaixa muito bem na aventura, inclusive tem uma árvore de habilidades que você pode evoluir.
    Além do cachorrinho e o dandori o jogo traz vários equipamentos para ampliar a possibilidades do jogo que funciona muito bem porque motiva mais ainda pegar os recursos que te recompensam com esses equipamentos. As batalhas noturnas também são um acréscimo ao jogo, creditando mais conteúdo de qualidade no jogo que traz recompensa para a partida de dia também. Completei a história principal em 30 horas mas depois o jogo liberou um pós game que é muito bem vindo.

    To start, the graphics are very good. Nintendo should use this graphical engine on more of their games, probably even most of them.     To start, the graphics are very good. Nintendo should use this graphical engine on more of their games, probably even most of them. The items you are collecting look extremely realistic and the lighting is very good.

    The gameplay is also quite fun and they added a lot compared to previous games. I enjoyed how they brought back all the previous Pikmin from the previous games instead of picking and choosing which ones to bring back. It was great to see the Pikmin from both Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3, some of which have never been seen together before. The ice Pikmin are also a nice addition. But I think the best new addition is Oatchi. When I first saw the dog in the trailers, I wasn't completely sold. It made it seem like some of the Pikmin might even be useless completely, but he really does add a lot and make the game better. The ability to sniff out treasures, survivors and onions was a huge addition that made the game much better. They also made the game VERY beginner friendly and I think this might be the best starting point in the series.

    I don't care much for how they changed the number of Pikmin you can have. In previous games, you could always just have 100, but here they make you start with a much lower number and collect garlic to increase the number of Pikmin you can have. They also made it so you can only have 3 different types of Pikmin at a time. I think this was kind of dumb, especially given how they let you have access to so many types of Pikmin in one game, it's a real shame you can't just have them all at once.

    I really liked the additional characters in this game and the upgrade system added quite a bit. I was surprised by how much content is in this game. There's almost as much new stuff post game as there is before you roll the credits. In fact, I was slightly annoyed by some of the stuff they held for the post credits. Without spoiling anything, there were a few things I think should have been just a part of the main game instead.

    I really like all the new options as far as how you can play the game. The auto targeting makes this game much more accessible. I do wish the camera controls were a bit better, as they can sometimes get a bit funky when fighting certain enemies, but outside of that the different control options are very good. I love the upgrade system. It gives me even more to collect and makes me want to keep collecting everything.

    All in all, this is a very fun, very addictive, very relaxing game that was clearly designed with new players in mind. If you've never played a Pikmin game before, this is a great starting point. And if you were already a fan of Pikmin, you'll especially love this one.    … Expand

    A truly great game with a lot of content in it. You can easily spend 35 hours in the game first playthrough doing everything. And it’s all really good content too, not just copy and paste objectives like totk had. It’s my goty upto now, miles better than totk (this is coming from a Zelda fan who wanted totk to be a 10/10, not a 6/10). Lacking that little bit more that would’ve made it aA truly great game with a lot of content in it. You can easily spend 35 hours in the game first playthrough doing everything.     Don't worry about playing 1-3. 4 is the best starting point for newcomers. It has the best QoL and the story is easy for newcomers to jump in on. It also takes all the best aspects from previous entries, making it easily the best in the franchise.

Ever since Miyamoto casually said in an interview back in 2015 that Pikmin 4 was in development I have waited long and waited patiently. 8 years later, Pikmin 4 finally released and I can tell you that the wait was very much worth it.     The only issue I have with this game is that I find it to be a tad too easy, especially as a Pikmin veteran myself, but aside from that, I can't think of a single thing wrong with this game. It's an absolute masterpiece and it deserves every ounce of praise it gets.

    This is a 95% game. All Pikmin have returned in this game. You can use your pup, Oachi, to help you defeat enemies easier. You can use Diamonds to buy some items for you to upgrade for yourself or for your pup. You can also upgrade Oachi's techniques and abilities when talking to the captain. If you don't have enough pikmin to carry objects, Oachi can help them carry the objects muchThis is a 95% game. All Pikmin have returned in this game. You can ride on your pup to smack enemies and objects out of your way. When exploring, you can't just go anywhere you want to in the game. When you reach a certain area that's supposed to be a bridge, there is no bridge to cross. You have to make sure that you have enough diamonds to reach that area and have enough Pikmin to help build it for you. Your Pikmin have to go into one of the spaceships in the base area to recieve the bridge parts by making them pay for the diamonds first. You have to be patient when you're doing that, which I like. Going into the underground caves are a great way to recieve more items, beat tougher enemies, face bosses and find Castaways that you have to rescue. It's amazing that you have to use certain types of Pikmin depending on where you're going sometimes. The only thing i wish i saw in the game is when you have to collect fruit to make yourself a smoothie after the day is over each day. That was another to survive in the game. You had to make sure you had enough smoothies to drink each day. Dandori battle is the funnest mode in the game and it's another way for trying to rescue a castaway. You have to collect the most points as fast as you possibly can by having your pup and Pikmin snatch items from your opponents. Your opponents will do the same to you too. The music in the game is very relaxing. The only problem with this game is that sometimes its on the easy, but its excellent nonetheless.… Expand

    This game is actually fantastic. I think the decision to go back to 2 captains was a good one, because it means the game is less about micromanaging and more about exploring. I also like how the captains are asymmetrical (your player can fit through grates/small barriers and can use the charge command, while oatchi can jump and charge into things). The game has less puzzles than pikmin 3, but it really makes up for it in pretty much every other aspect. I like how dandori battles are interspersed throughout the game. It adds a lot of variety and they are generally quite well made (though I don't like how the screen is cut in half it feels weird). I also have an issue with how much information about the pikmin world is still left unanswered after beating the game. We see many more human constructions, but are still left in the dark as to why PNF-404 is in its current state, (Why are human creations still in pristine condition if the ecosystem has seemingly evolved so drastically? What is causing so many tiny people to crash-land on the planet? Why is Louie so weird?). Hopefully Pikmin 5 answers these questions when it finally comes out in 2040, instead of leaving it all to speculation. Would highly recommend the game though, its definitely worth the money.

I love the dungeons and Dandori battles which adds extra things to do in each area. This game is a completionist's dream. It's really a fantastic game that I can't stop playing!!     I was worried about Oatchi dominating the whole experience, but when you find yourself not wanting to be without him at any point in the game, that's a sign that he was a major improvement to the gameplay.

    Even the longer tutorial justifies itself by building an addictive, cozy gameplay loop with a continuously growing hub to relax in before setting out on missions.

    On a attendu ce jeu 10 ans, il est de loin le jeu Pikmin le plus complet au niveau du nombre de Pikmin, créatures, trésors ect...
    Le jeu Pikmin le plus long avec une durée de jeu d'environ une quarantaine d'heures disons, mais ça dépend surtout du niveau de jeu du    9.5/10 puisque déjà aucun jeu n'est parfait et celui là ne l'est pas. (Et de toute façons les notes ne veulent rien dire...)
    On a attendu ce jeu 10 ans, il est de loin le jeu Pikmin le plus complet au niveau du nombre de Pikmin, créatures, trésors ect...
    Le jeu Pikmin le plus long avec une durée de jeu d'environ une quarantaine d'heures disons, mais ça dépend surtout du niveau de jeu du joueur.
    Niveau technique, le jeu est en 840p max en mode docké et 540p en mode portable, j'ai pu avoir l'expérience de jouer en mode portable et on ressent en permanence que nous sommes dans un jeu vidéo avec de gros pixels visibles ce qui gache l'expérience de jeu. Le jeu est en 30 FPS ce qui reste convenable mais un 60fps n'aurait pas fait de mal.
    Niveau de l'équilibrage de l'utilisation des Pikmins je la trouve très déséquilibré exemples que je prends souvent quand je parle du jeu : le Pikmin jaune est devenu inutile en post game a aucun moment je l'ai utilisé après le 100% d'avant la première fin, le Pikmin ailé qui nous ai donné inutilement vers le début du jeu...
    Et je trouve aussi qu'on se sent moins récompenses d'avoir un nouveau type de Pikmin aucun obstacle pour l'avoir, pas d'oignon (trouvé dans la nature comme un simple objet), aucune mise en scène je trouve que c'est un vrai retour en arrière par rapport à Pikmin 4.
    La difficulté du jeu est mal géré certain boss de Pikmin 2 réputé pour leur difficulté se sont réduit a être détruit en même pas 20 secondes (et je rigoles pas avec 20sec) il aurait été favorable de mettre un mode de difficulté hard rendant les ennemies plus stock niveau PV et autres petites changements avec bienvidemment.
    Le lock automatique est une abomination quand on a vu le lock parfait qu'était dans Pikmin 3 Deluxe juste un paramètre pour désactiver ce lock automatique aurait rendu le jeu 4x plus maniable dans nos lancés de pikmins
    le jeu reste excellent et est le GOTY pour moi (étonnant vu par un fan de Pikmin)    … Expand

    This was such a calming game that whenever I was feeling stressed at all I could turn to to decompress and relax while playing which is something not many games do nowadays.

    Pikmin 4 is the perfect sequel to a series of games. Good ideas are made better and the bad ones are left behind. If you're a fan of the series already it has numerous fun call backs to the series' history and if you're new it's a perfect entry way into these amazing games.     The most beautiful game on the Nintendo switch, this game makes me feel calm and at peace, I love to sit back and play after a long day of work, it may not be the most challenging game in the series but it's the best looking one

A fantastic return for the Pikmin series,. ) enjoy the new environments, the gameplay is as you expect (excellent) and the story is wildly fun. what I didn't expect was for the music to be so good, the final boss tack goes especially hard. My only real issues are the auto lock being a bit finnicky and getting some of the special onions a bit too late (purple and white especially being annoying) though i do see around them and hope in a future update an option to turn off auto lock is added. Overall an incredible experience and highly recommended for any fans of real time strategy games.… Expand

    The Pikmin 4 demo was my introduction to the Pikmin Franchise.
    After finishing the demo, and still having time before 4 released, I played 2 & 3 (I didn't get to beat 2 before 4 came out, so I watched the ending)

    My disappointments lie in the targeting system, as the lock-on function can be frustrating at times. As well as the character customization. I feel as though if they wanted to let us create our own character, they could have given us more options to truly make our character represent us. There is one area in particular I wish we had access to explore more of, but I won't go into detail as to avoid having to mark spoilers. I will say, you'll know when you get there what I mean. (We only got to see half, maybe a quarter of a potentially huge area)
    The biggest flaw of this game that we all can agree on is the co-op. It was truly a downgrade from 3's co-op and I'm hoping that, like 3, it will be redone to give us a much better experience. Pebble pitching just isn't a true co-op experience vs being able to control another character like in 3. They could easily have P2 play as Oatchi! We'll see if we get better co-op later on but until then, that is definitely the biggest problem with the game.

    Other than that, the game is phenomenal. There's SO much content. I'm 30 hours in and still have some more content left to do, as I'm doing a completionist route.
    The visuals are amazing, each area we go to is beautifully made with stunning colors and unique layouts.

    If Miyamoto decides to make a 5th installment of the main storyline after this, I would be ecstatic. (And hopefully it wouldn't take 10 years? Haha) There's plenty of room for improvement still, if they did make another game. Pikmin 4 truly gives us everything we could have wanted from the past games.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pikmin 4 is the Peak of this series with little Mins. As a first timer to the Pikmin series, it's a pleasant experience. The visuals are stunning, for one. The rewind time feature lets you try your hardest to save everyone, but is only optional. Mastering the art of Dandori through the Challenges, Battles and the Trials of the Sage Leaf is a genuinely fun experience trying to maximise efficiency (if only I could do so irl too) and the Night expeditions provide a decent challenge through the combat. With a whole host of treasures to collect, caves to explore and castaways to rescue, this game keeps you well occupied during Day expeditions, and the risk of whether or not to rush in last minute tasks as the sun goes down is incredulous.
    Olimar's Shipwreck Tale is a nice reward for saving Olimar, a fast paced Pikmin 1 style rush to collect 30 Ship parts in 15 days, and the reward of the Trials of the Sage Leaf is worth the while.
    The one complaint I have about the Trials of the Sage Leaf is that a day passes when you exit. The challenges are very difficult and truly put your Dandori to the test, not to mention the White and Purple Onions you get as rewards for the Trials (Trial 5 for White, Trial 10 for Purple).
    Each and every Pikmin has it's time to shine, the Piklopedia entries are a joy (especially Louie's cooking guide), the treasures are varied and charming it's a blast all around to complete.

    It has been the best gaming experience i’ve had in a long time! I never loved a game so much, this is my first pikmin game (i played pikmin 1 recently but haven’t made it too far yet) so pretty much 4 has been a proper introduction for me to the series, and my god i’m in awe, this game really lived up to the hype for me! I can’t recommende it enough

In just a few short days, Pikmin 4 has easily skyrocketed to the top of my personal Pikmin game tier list. By carefully extracting the best components of each past mainline Pikmin title and blending it all together, Nintendo has created a masterpiece of an experience that has it all, both for first-time players and longtime fans of the series like myself.

    I’ll begin with what this game has to offer for newcomers to the series — namely, that it is the most accessible entry in the franchise. The addition of mechanics such as the time rewind feature (which lets you “rewind” the game a set amount of time in cases where you, for example, lose a lot of Pikmin in a fight, or want to retry to get a certain task done before sunset) is very helpful, and the careful focus to ensuring that all the game’s core mechanics are both adequately explained and demonstrated, with ample opportunity for practice, makes this game the easiest entry of the series for first-time players to jump into. The removal of a Day Limit — which was previously a point of contention that kept potential new players away from the series — shifts the focus of the game away from the central pillar of maximizing time management in 1 & 3 and more towards exploration and adventure. But though the focus is no longer squarely on time management, this does not mean it is entirely gone! Pikmin 4 does still encourage time management (presented in the game by the concept of “Dandori”, a Japanese word describing the art of time management); however, unlike in 1 & 3, one must no longer worry about running out of days and having to start the game from scratch. Rather, Pikmin 4 encourages time management primarily in “battles”, which are self-contained challenges presented to you throughout the game, where you fight against both time itself in some instances and CPU opponents in others. If you fail any of these challenges, the game simply immediately offers you the chance to try it again. And of course, as in past titles, time management is also encouraged by the personal challenge of improving upon your past records. For example, one of the ways I enjoy repeated playthroughs of games in the series is by challenging myself to see how many in-game days I can complete that title in. In Pikmin 1 for example, my current record is 9 Days — and each time I replay the game, I always strive to see if I can bring that number down to 8, or even lower! Pikmin 4 is no exception to this: I’m already looking forward to my next playthrough, to see how many less Days it will take me to 100% the game!

    While the game does focus on being as welcoming to newcomers to the series as possible, this does not detract from what this game has to offer for its veteran fans! In addition to the meta challenge of lowering your Days taken to beat the game, there is of course also challenging content to be found in the game itself. Certain enemies and some later caves will see you lose many precious members of your squad. Rewinding time is always an option; but if you don't believe in hitting that Reset button, you are never forced to use the feature: rather, the game may simply suggest it to you as an option at certain times. Getting Platinum medals in Dandori Battles is another challenge one can undertake if you find merely “passing” the challenges to be too easy. In addition, later optional post-game content sees the challenge and difficulty of the game reach — and possibly even exceed — previous series highs. Beyond the game’s difficulty, veteran fans will also be excited by the nods to prior titles. Of course, I won’t spoil what these nods are; but each time I encountered a new reference, I always found myself grinning like an idiot for at least the next few minutes. One last feature of the game I’ll talk about that’s sure to please those who’ve played past games is the return to prominence of all prior Pikmin types. Unlike in Pikmin 3 where the Pikmin types of Pikmin 2 (whites and purples) were relegated to side content, in Pikmin 4, all types are accessible in the main story mode!

    There’s so much more I could talk about, but due to the character limit, I’ll leave it there. This game is the culmination of a decade of work, and the sheer quality reflected in every aspect of the game clearly shows that this ample time was put to excellent use. As someone who was admittedly not the biggest fan of Pikmin 3 as compared to 1 & 2, Pikmin 4 is essentially the Pikmin sequel I’ve waited almost my whole life for (for reference, nearly 19 years have passed since I first played Pikmin 2 on the GameCube in 2004!) Pikmin 4, in my opinion, is the absolute peak of the franchise, and I’m unsure how Nintendo can possibly top it in the next game — but even so, I can’t wait to see them try!    … Expand

It takes everything the previous three games did well, and puts them all into one experience, while keeping out almost all those games’ mistakes. It does absolutely everything I wanted it to do and then some. One particularly noteworthy aspect is that every area can be 100% completed with just the Pikmin you either enter the area already having, or will find in that area. No backtracking is ever required, though some puzzles may become easier to solve if you choose to wait and come back with more resources. It’s very satisfying to go to a new area knowing you’ve done everything you possibly can in the previous one.

    The game gives us access to all nine primary types of Pikmin in the main campaign, which was great to have after Pikmin 3 chose to omit Purple and White Pikmin. To balance the diversity, and keep things from getting overwhelming, only three types of Pikmin can be chosen to be with you at once. (Though you can get more than that if you find other types while exploring a cave.) This helps to make no Pikmin feel unhelpful, as even if two Pikmin are both capable of completing a specific task, which one will be more useful in other ways will change from are to area, and from cave to cave. For example, both Rock and Purple Pikmin are great in combat. Purples are stronger and can damage multiple enemies at once, but Rocks are immune to being crushed or impaled, making them a safer choice in many cases. But Purples also have the carry strength of 10 Pikmin, but you may opt for them despite their relative vulnerability to help carry back those items after the fight is over.

    Oatchi the Space Pup adds a lot of intricacies to the game’s strategy and combat. He functions as a hybrid between Captain and Pikmin, mechanically, having all the same abilities as a captain, but also being able to be directed in battle, and to carry objects back to base. You can upgrade him, just as you can your captain, allowing him to have higher carry and combat strength, as well as increased defense and immunity to hazards, among other things. Not to mention you quickly gain the ability to ride Oatchi, letting you jump up ledges and keep the Pikmin all huddled together on his back. And soon he can swim those Pikmin across water as well. There’s always more than one way to tackle a puzzle or fight thanks to all the options he adds to the table. Deciding the most effective way to do things can be difficult, but satisfying to figure out, thanks to this adorable companion’s help.

    The new Glow Pikmin do not live in the onion, and instead a certain amount will enter your inventory after clearing one of the Night Mode levels they are obtained in. This allows you to have them anytime you want underground, without counting them towards your three other choices. They cannot be used above ground or taken out of caves, however. The night mode you get them in is a completely new and kind of terrifying way to play Pikmin, with it mixing Pikmin’s Real Time Strategy Gameplay with the Tower Defense genre. You need to very carefully manage your time to increase your number of Glow Pikmin, while simultaneously keeping enemies away from the objective you are protecting. Luckily, Glow Pikmin are special, and automatically return to the active character when idle, making it very easy to keep track of them as you switch between your captain and Oatchi to try your best to multitask.

    The game’s length is staggering, with it having over 1.5x more collectibles than the previous three games had combined. However, unlike Pikmin 2, the game never begins to feel as if it is dragging on. Every single sublevel of every single cave is unique, and human-made rather than randomly generated, so no at no point does the experience grow stale or feel unbalanced / unfair. The game does feature multiples of a lot of its treasures, with only 239 unique ones out of the 410 you can find. But this helps make it even more special when you find something completely new. The same can be said of the enemies, of which many return from previous games, including many fan favorites that haven’t been seen since Pikmin 2 or even as far back as Pikmin 1. And many of the old foes manage to feel just as fresh as the new ones, thanks to improvements in their AI and changes to the way they fight or the way you battle them. For example, the Baldy Long Legs now roams all around the maps it is found on, rather than being contained to a Boss arena.

    Nintendo really hit it out of the park with this game. They absolutely delivered to the fans who have waited a decade for this sequel, while also creating an experience that can certainly be enjoyed by new players just as much. It’s a game I will no doubt be returning to over and over again, just as I have with the first three games. Even though it is a significantly longer game than them, it’s still one I will almost definitely never get sick of.    … Expand

    This Game was well worth the wait. I love all the content and the sub-levels are very diverse and they throw all kind of surprises at you.

    Dandori Battles are fun and all the harder content isn't forced onto the player.
    I am very far in the game and i am on my way to 100% but every hour so far has been a blast.

    Very immersive game-play, I got hooked up playing it as it offers so much for a very long time of game-play and I look forward to playing it every waking moment.

    Some features might need improvement, such as the auto-locking. I think there should be a way to toggle it off. other than that the game seems and feel polished

But after playing 4 I realized that the 10 years of waiting really paid off. Pikmin 4 was a game I enjoyed all the way through, even if I thought the game was really over when the credits rolled the first time, but it surprised me with aPikmin 4 was a game I was expecting for a long time and honestly, even if I was very hyped, I expected pikmin 3 deluxe to still be the better pikmin game.     I haven’t found that much joy in a game for a long time. It just so much fun and it has so much things to do. It has several large worlds filled with so many things to do. It’s really one of, if not, Nintendo’s best game. (Yes, I do think that it’s a better game than Tears of the Kingdom)

I do have some issues with the game, there is essentially no replay value, the 30+ hours hurts what little replay value the game has with enemies not re spawning at all, once you beat it that's it since there is no ng+ or difficulty option. Auto lock is a common complaint ive seen, not having an option to turn it off is crazy in 2023. Redundant gear/oatchi abilities, timer meaning less than it ever has been. ease of the game in general. I love the game as a whole as a pikmin fan but there are alot of small issues that add up.… Expand

    Pikmin 4 is exactly what the fans of the saga expected after all of the waiting since the third entry in the series. Pikmin 4 has the best of all the previous games combined giving the perfect Pikmin game we could expect. But, also, manages to work perfectly for all the newcomers. Definitely, this is the best Pikmin game in the series.

    It's a thrilling ride. You go for one short game and wake up after five hours, only to return to playing immediately because you've figured out how to beat your opponent. The graphics may be simple, but they make up for it with the colour and thoughtfulness of the environments, and one genuinely enjoys exploring every nook and cranny. This is really worth it.     Pikmin 4 marks the return of one of Nintendo's most beloved series, and this return could not have happened in a better way. Thanks to its exquisite audiovisual world, slick gameplay mechanics, an enveloping strategic component, and the adorable relationship between the player and the little alien creatures, Pikmin 4 is nothing short of a jewel on the crown of the Nintendo Switch.
