I enjoyed the game on PC and thought I would enjoy it on-the-go but... No.
Nothing new, no particular effort put in the game.
Unlike Skyrim, the magic didn't happen here.

This port is basically the borderlands 2 of the vita, just a cash grab. Payday 2 was already a terribly optimized game, but the switch is by for the worst of them all. It's like they didn't even try. Good luck trying to play with a steady 30 fps. Oh and the UI is still the worst thing since windows vista.

    I can't say I wasn't disappointed, Its payday 2 on the go.

But, there are several issues with this port that just.... disappointed me. When I began playing, there was no voice chat, nor was there a text chat. But, there are several issues with this port that just.... disappointed me.

When I began playing, there was no voice chat, nor was there a text chat. I don't know if Nintendo Switch Online's voice chat works on this, but judging it upon its launch, this game instantly gets gut-punched on the get-go. You have no way of communicating with people in pubs, unless you are sitting right next to them or using apps like discord.

This isn't really the definitive experience that you get playing on PC, nor is it the sub-par experience from the Xbox or Playstation ports. This game is more un-updated than the crimewave edition (the one for consoles). It also chugs terribly on some maps. PD2 on PC is not optimized but i swear, this game chugs harder than a train.

I had also gotten this game due to the fact that Switch Online was free at the time, but as of right now, you have to pay for online. Which was another gut-punch, but this time they didn't gut-punch themselves, Nintendo Gut-punched them. Combined with the fact that it needs online access and still needs to have voice coms is insulting.

I give it props for being on the go, and the local multiplayer, but in order to tap into its full potential, you must be online, and being me, usually when i'd have an internet connection, id be at home, and when i'm at home, id rather play Payday 2 on the PC.

It's below average for a game. Firstly the game runs terribly, in a heated situation the frame rate drops significantly and even in a calm part the frame rate still dips. And the game it self looks terrible, how did Doom come out on the same system when that looks so much better and even it runs better. Not to mention theres no voice chat or any way of communication. its ok, but honestly, the lack of Voice chat continues to be the bane of the Switch's existence... and sucks almost every bit of the fun out of online multiplayer modes.

For those who have played Payday 2 before, the Switch version is the same game you love or hate. If you love Payday 2 to the extent of wanting to play it outside of your home, you'll have a great time with this imperfect port. Yes, it isn't the prettiest game -- it never was even back when it first launched. Yes, there are occasional frame rate drops -- how tolerable they are to you depends on how much you like the core gameplay. In my experience, Beneath the Sky was the only mission unpleasant to play through due to an overall low frame rate. The game does have bugs and very rarely does get stuck on loading screens, but these issues were all solved with a simple and quick soft reset of the game. In short, if you hate Payday 2, you'll really hate the Switch port. If you love Payday 2 and wish to play it anywhere other than home, then you will probably have a blast with the port. The core experience from home console versions has been brought to the Switch with this adequate (and not great) port.

As for the lack of any means for communication, I don't recall the last time I felt the need to communicate with pubs in the 140 hours I spent on the PC version of the game. Usually, pubs just know what to do from guides or monkeying other pubs. Personally the lack of communication isn't an deal breaker or major issue for me.

DON'T BUY THIS GAME. It’s definitely not worth AU$75 when it’s AU$10 or free everywhere else. This is a mainly a multiplayer game; you can’t really take that on the go. Graphics are old and ugly. Gameplay is repetitive and boring. Remember peeps, you don’t need to buy every third party game just because it came out on switch especially if it’s a mediocre game like this one.

This game is a tricky one to recommend. On the one hand the gameplay loop and potential of the game is flawless. I love playing this game and that's a good sign of a great game.

Well the answer is simple. If you ONLY have the Switch or only see yourself playing this on the switch then go for it. As ON ITS OWN its worth the purchase. Yes it's better with friends but its still doable solo and the progression system and infamy system works. But if you have this game anywhere else or are able to get it anywhere else like PC then for the love of god don't get it here. The only reason it gets a 5 on here is the dumb decision to not update this version. On its own its an 8 but that fact alone hurts its bad.

Pero en sí el juego es muy muy divertido y lo vicio mucho al día de hoy. ,dale una oportunidad flaco , cabe destacar que es bien barato el juego :D Expand

PAYDAY 2 for the Nintendo Switch features plenty of content and varied missions but it cannot be seen as a fine conversion work when its AI is pitiful, the graphics are very much outdated and the one player experience is terribly dull. While it may be fun on multiplayer, PAYDAY 2 needs a lot more to stand out if it intends to prove itself.

If you're already familiar with Payday 2 and are dying to play the game on the go with a group of equally excited friends, then Payday 2 on Switch will scratch that itch. For those unfamiliar with the Payday series looking to give it a whirl, you're better off sticking to the far cheaper (and feature complete) version of the game on PC. Meanwhile, everyone else should probably spend their money on something much newer and fresher than this.

The great port offers a lot of potential for frustrations due to the lack of communication tools. The co-op fun ignites only with friends using Skype or similar tools.
