The movement is slick, the graphics are great, there are quite a few good ideas and mechanics, and it's quite fun for a couple of hours - but the level designs aren't particularly interesting, and the game really isn't challenging at all. Better level design and more of a challenge and this would've been a really good game.

It’s a good game. But the level designs drags the game down. Starts really good and exciting and becomes a real chore really quick. The checkpoint or saving spots are very far between and the stages are way too long. Also when you get a new ability you have to come back to the areas that were inaccessible before in almost every level. But in order to get to those areas you have to cross almost the whole level killing and fighting everything again and again. Becomes extremely tedious. The enemies are very repetitive and the bosses are pure bullet sponges. On a very positive side the graphics, controls and music scores are excellent. All in all it was fun. I would definitely recommend it if it’s on sale. Expand

Omega Strike is a fun and enjoyable little 2D Metroidvania with some side-scrolling shooter sensibilities. It doesn’t do anything particularly new or interesting – and its ‘unique’ character-swapping concept was done a lot better by Broforce – but if you’re looking for a modern tribute to Metal Slug that’s fun and challenging in a very familiar way, then Omega Strike is likely to scratch that common itch. Just keep those expectations in check as this isn't the most original or exciting example the genre has to offer.

Omega Strike is a fun title, which despite not being the best of its kind, manages to entertain the few hours it lasts. However, it does not surprise because it has very basic scenarios and it is not too challenging.

Don’t get me wrong, Omega Strike is an enjoyable romp into the platformer genre, however, it’s not one that I feel brings anything new to the table.
