Like a combination of South Park and Superstore, Negative Nancy is a smart but short visual novel that balances whacky buffoonery with cutting and deft real world observations. Centred around the power of the word “no”, it’s a unique hook that’s not just a pun for the title. There’s some repetition involved if you want to see everything that this game has to offer, which does take some of the sheen off of it, but Negative Nancy is still worth your time.

The writing is sharp, the situations are amusing, and there’s a certain primal appeal to saying no to people. There are multiple endings, so although each playthrough is rather brisk, there’s quite a lot to see here. If you like the concept, you’ll probably like Negative Nancy.

While simple and a little on the short side with only a couple of hours of playtime, Negative Nancy is a fun and entertaining visual novel that thinks of some creative ways to say the word ‘No’.

The branching storylines work really well, although it’s a shame there aren’t more stories on offer as your time with Nancy ends before it really starts to begin."

For a simple concept that this game is I just kept playing and playing each round to see what direction these would take and just loved how surprisingly dumb it could get. It was a really good time for me and satisfied that craving of wanting something chill and funny.
Its definitely one of those experiences you can just pull out when you're really lost on how to spend a good 30 minutes of your time to get through or replay an episode.

Highly recommend if you want something silly and stupid.
