If you are hankering for a campy, gory old school horror movie that you are in control of, you really can’t get much better than Murder House. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is not afraid to dump down a few buckets of blood every now and then. Dated things like tank controls or limited saves may be frustrating to a player not used to these types of games, but I honestly think this might be one of the better places to try those things out for the first time. The short runtime helps alleviate the stress of the controls and save mechanics, though the unfortunate crashing issues may replace that stress with frustration in the end. Hopefully a patch will be coming down the pipeline soon, but for now Murder House has found a good but technically troubled murder home on the Switch.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. ok this game is a solid horror game. I love the atmosphere, I love the prograsion of the going from harmless to being able to defend yourself, and sometimes finding things is fun. However that's one thing I'm not good at and it's even harder to find things while the guy is chasing you but right now I'm at the tail end of the game and I can't get the other weapon out fast enough to kill him. I think all horror games have to have challenge to them so normally I would say the game is too hard but for a horror game it's reasonable. Lastly another problem I have with the game is that there's a glitch where the killer is supposed to be out the door but one time he was back in. In conclusion, I want to say I love horror movies... especially slashers so because of that, I feel this game is a good fit even if it does have a few glitches. That's a b rated game if you ask me since they want to make b rated movie like games. Full Review »

The pacing is perfect for a game that has only one enemy, and it’s a genuinely unsettling title too. It’s a shame then that the third person camera makes it almost impossible to play from that perspective and the loading times make for a harsh punishment upon death. Regardless of these gripes, the quality of this title has made me yearn for more Puppet Combo titles on the Switch."

Throwing you back to the horror survival games of the 90's mixed with the grungy slasher films of the 70's and 80's, MURDER HOUSE is a god damn terrifying blast in the ass. With a story that ropes you in instantly and constant scares all throughout, this is seriously a game not to be missed by horror fans. Full Review »
