    What a fantastic game. Nintendo proves that after years of others making Metroid-like games, they are still the kings. The world is beautiful. The soundtrack is gorgeous. The boss fights are some of the funnest yet. Hope to see more Metroid. Buy this game!

    I was never too crazy about the 2D Metroid series even as a kid when the 1986 game came out , but after 35 years finally a 2d Metroid game that i love outside from the prime series!

    The game is gorgeous, the movement is fluid and the combat is satisfying. Definitely a Metroid game through and through, the new music fits the tone well, albeit not super memorable. Some of the tracks from previous games are back and remastered as well. The frame rate holds pretty steady at 60 FPS outside of the cutscenes when traveling between zones, which are noticeably choppy. The EMMI robots do not disappoint, their movements are quick, intelligent, and fluid. My girlfriend, a casual gamer, wanted to play and was freaking out when she had her first real EMMI encounter in the game. I’ve beaten the game twice so far, first on normal 100% in about 13 hours then on hard any% in about 3.5 hours. New sequence breaks are being discovered everyday so I’m excited to see how low the times can be pushed.… Expand

    Absolutely epic! Waited forever for the return of Samus, and it did not disappoint.

    amazing game its great for old and new players while old players will feel reconected with what made the series great new players will be delited, metroid dread is trully an experience its background design its great and all cararcters design are on another level samus looks sick with her new suit, bosses are challenging and puzzle like which makes feel great when you beat them

    Addictive Metroid title that feels unique but also familiar to a masterful series. Metroid innovated the 2D labyrinth style of games and this entry reminds gamers why it’s the best of its kind. Atmospheric, moody, riddled with secrets, deep 2D exploration, difficult but fair and overall so immersive and enjoyable. The developers of Metroid: Samus Returns makes yet another well thought out games that gives homage to 1/2 of the progenitors of the Metroidvania genre while still making it seem fresh and from this time period.     If you wanted classic Metroid, you got it and then some. Controls are smooth as silk and the atmosphere is oppressive and...well sorry but it's DREADFUL. The art style is gorgeous. The performance is top notch. It's just hard to ding this game for much. Maybe slightly (ehh I hate to use this word) linear? Only in the beginning though. I dont know what else to say!     The perfect continuation of an amazing saga! Metroid Dread is well worth the 19 year wait and brings the series into the current generation seamlessly

    Metroid Dread is my favorite game so far, it has exploration elements from Super Metroid, and as you go on it manages to seamlessly morph into metroid fusion getting more tense as you go on. The game is super hard, and that stands out especially since most Nintendo games are pushovers now. I can not recommend it enough!

    The game is fun and agile, the gameplay is fluid and tasty, I hope it has a continuation and dlc.

    El mejor juego en switch de este año. La ambientacion, la musica, la jugabilidad, todo es perfecto en este juego. Recomendado 10/10.

    This game is fantastic! Great storyline, a thrilling and fast paced experience. I will say that this game IS HARD. This could be a positive or a negative depending on personal preferences, but personally I think it is great to have a challenge and a game that actually takes effort to beat.

    Really amazing game. The best Metroidvania of the decade! Emmi encounters are terrifying and bosses are difficult. I 100% recommended buying this game if you are a fan of adventure games, metroidvanianas or the like!

    The game that fans of classic metroid always wanted to play. It's a trully masterful experience, gameplay and level design, exploration with awesome control and immersive soundtrack. Not a single bad point here.

    Great movility and the Best sensation of pure and genuin scary of all the saga, the parry makes the inmersion so real and help with the momentum and tempo alongside the Game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It doesn’t do the game justice to say that it’s a near masterpiece. Hit me right in the nostalgia having played previous 2D Metroid games like Fusion and Zero Mission. Literally the only thing I would have liked to be included was a section with zero suit Samus. I’m sure that gameplay would have been super fun given how the game plays with the power suit. The gallery makes up for that a bit though easy 11/10, A++, will buy twice just to let Nintendo know I want another 2D Metroid.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Metroid Dread sin duda alguna es una de las maravillas del año de Nintendo realizadas por el estudio español Mercury Steam que han creado un juego lleno de valor y vida.

    Jugabilidad: Siendo cortos, Metroid Dread es el mejor Metroide jugable hasta la fecha, el control de Samus es super preciso, con un acción muy dinámica que enriquece muchísimo más el gameplay gracias a una serie de power ups pero esta vez a lo Metroid que iremos recogiendo a lo largo de la aventura los cuales usaremos en mayor o mentor medida , aún así muchos forman un gran equilibrio.

    Sonido: A nivel sonoro la BSO de Dread es bestial, al nivel de las mejores de la saga, provocando una sensacion ambiental en las diversas zonas del planeta ZDR, así como tensión y miedo en las zonas E.M.M.I y epicidad ante los bosses, los cuales ya podemos considerar como de los más difíciles, divertidos y exigentes de toda la saga.

    Historia: Es posiblemente un cierre casi perfecto para la saga Metroid ya que el objetivo de su creador Sakamoto es dar lugar a nuevas fastas dentro de la franquicia. Es un historia que nos deja pregunta pero que también responde a muchas res    … Expand

    Its just bonza! Wow they really made a special game here. Nostalgia is a powerful thing but truly this is on par or better than Super Metroid. The great quality of life improvements and balance of difficulty is just all the right ingredients. Watch out Metroidvania games, the Queen is back!

    I can’t believe I’m finally playing a new metroid game! The controls and movement are actually really fun. After you get used to the movement style and can start jumping and maneuvering quickly it becomes a lot more fun.

    Amazing game from start to finish. The controls and combat are blissful. I really appreciate they allowed the game to be challenging, but never cheap. Definitely my current GotY.

    After almost 20 years we finally have a sequel to the 2D series of Metroid games! Considering that, Dread does a great job of combining the new modern combat with the old elements of research and advancement, and it doesn't hurt that we have some of the best boss fights in the series. A true gem and a must have for all Switch gamers.

    Taking up the torch of a series interrupted nineteen years ago is never an easy task, but the MercurySteam studio is doing it with honors! The developers have chosen the path of security while perfectly respecting the spirit of the previous episodes, to the detriment of true modernity.
