Nov 27, 2020Great art design and well constructed puzzles. The controls on Switch are not ideal, though.

Oct 28, 2020Beyond the poetic eloquence of such delicate handmade animation and moving musical compositions, the main tour de force is hidden into the puzzles that subtly reflect the story's themes. A modest, yet humbling luminous piece of art.

Nov 16, 2020LUNA is far from a failure of course, and is certainly worth checking out for fans of slower paced puzzlers – its beautiful presentation should help attract a good helping of casual problem solvers too, even if the experience might leave them feeling a little empty in the end.

Oct 26, 2020For all my disappointments with what LUNA The Shadow Dust could have been, there was a fair share of impressive moments that kept me going. I did want to see what each next puzzle would look and play like, and the mysterious tone did keep me wondering if there was going to be a big payoff at the end. I think that with a proper story, perhaps with some dialogue or written text, LUNA could have been a far stronger game. It feels like the puzzles are the lengthening elements to what could have been an epic narrative. But as it is, LUNA The Shadow Dust is very pretty, plays well, but unfortunately doesn’t do anything meaningful with its high production values.

Nov 22, 2020LUNA The Shadow Dust looks much better than it plays. The game looks gorgeous, with its hand-drawn like style and its colouring but the gameplay experience doesn't live up to the same threshold set by the visual environment. Its puzzles are accessible enough to most players and the game doesn't push too hard but what's presented here could perhaps fit better in a visual novel rather than a point and click adventure, especially when its control system is far from perfect.
