    This came is really interesting and relaxing. Its got a good story to keep you interested through the roughly 5 hour experience. The biggest issues with it on switch are that it runs terrible and has a good many glitches. Multiple times I fell through the floor or a fall and had to reload to get back into the game. But all in all I really enjoyed it. The gameplay is mainly explorationThis came is really interesting and relaxing. Its got a good story to keep you interested through the roughly 5 hour experience. But all in all I really enjoyed it. The gameplay is mainly exploration and then transforming into different animals to traverse the environments which was really fun. I think its too expensive, full price is $30 on switch, but if you can get it on sale its worth the pick up if you don't mind some performance issues.… Expand

I love all of those things in games, but Lost Ember just didn't click for me. I'm glad I got this on sale and not full price.

    It really just isn't worth your time to explore the large world here- there are some collectibles, but nothing of interest (besides a few easter egg nods at other games). There are a lot of invisible walls and small ledges to get stuck on and the frame rate drops are REALLY bad in some instances- so much so that I thought the game had completely froze a few times. None of the animals were particularly fun to control, either, except possibly the fish. I played the game with commentary turned off, but was able to follow the story reasonably well. I still just didn't find it very interesting or emotional, though I can tell that's what they were going for.

    I understand that this is an indie game with a small team, but if you're looking for a better experience, I recommend Spirit of the North, with it's far superior soundtrack, puzzles, and a couple unlockables.    … Expand

    Lost Ember can be quite a relaxing experience, one where players will enjoy the benefits of a beautiful audiovisual world under the form of different animals, and sometimes it's even possible to simply put the game's goal aside and just enjoy free roaming. While the game demonstrates some signs of a technical downgrade from its conversion to the Nintendo Switch format and the loading times can get a bit long, Lost Ember is a marvelous, enveloping and relaxing experience that would fit good in anyone's Nintendo Switch.

    Overall, Lost Ember isn’t a terrible game; it does, however, strive to be profound and ultimately is not quite so. The narrative is ambitious but never strays from the beaten path. Navigation is problematic and leaves players lost when it shouldn’t. Performance is also far from optimized for Switch. While the body swapping and visual design are solid, the former is let down by linear traversal and the latter isn’t enough to make up for the other flaws. Hopefully a patch will come along to tackle some of these problems, but in the meantime consider Lost Ember if you’re willing to put up with a number of different issues.

    Lost Ember provides players with an open world to explore through the viewpoint of various animals. And although it can be effective, its high price and downgraded graphics mean the Nintendo Switch may not be the best way to play it.
