    LOL Surprise Movie night is an improvement over we rule the world, instead of an hr and a half you get 4 hours of gamplay here.. and theres actually customizable options.. you start off by creating your characters who wants to be a big movie star so you gotta climb up the ranks, get noticed, do commercials, memorize lines, and you climb the ranks by completing tasks around set.. youll do a memory game, memozire these objects and choose the right order, theres a game where youll set the stage, you just chose the props you think goes best in an area and the game scores you on how well you did, and then theres a spooky level where you grab a candle and bring it back to the top of the stairs before ghosts can get you.. as you level up youll unlock new outfits and accessories to customize your doll.. something the first game was missing.. and randomly youll get surprise balls with decorations inside for your home, but annoyingly you can get doubles and its rare these things pop up.. so disappointing there.. and you know what else you do in this game?
    Nothing
    you do the same 3 mini games over and over and over and over and over and over.. they just get progressively harder, and as you progress the game and climb up the ranks youll get more games thrown into the mix like this dodge the obstacles and collect stars game, make some popcorn, or a quick time posing mini game where you press the button on screen before time runs out and you do these 3 mini games over and over and over too…
    Basically the games 4 hours instead of a and a half is cheaply padded, you don’t get new stages, you just get more emojis to memorize or more candles to grab while more ghosts show up… so lazy in the gameplay department…
    I am happy the game has more customizale options because that’s literally the point, but s far as actually playing is concerned, I had more fun with we rule the world.
    This is a better more padded out game, but far more repetitive and less fun.

    Ah, licensed properties for kids being turned into video games. Anyone who has been around should know what a roll of the dice that can be. Surprises like the recent Smurf game can and do sometimes show up to help redeem the sub-genre, but unfortunately then titles like this one show up to restore the balance in the other direction. For true fans of the toys, the younger the better, the ability to have your own character, establish their look, and then follow their journey to stardom may be enough to satisfy. For anyone who is more adept at games (at all) the personalization angle won’t likely be enough to make up for the repetitive and sometimes almost insulting mini games that you’ll need to grind through in order to keep things advancing. With basic skills ranging from memory to randomly placing appropriate items in a scene to simply changing lanes to collect coins there’s a real lack of ambition and faith in the player shown in the nature and starting point of these mini games. Yes, as you do them more and the level of difficulty slowly rises they can pose a slightly higher challenge but the basic nature of the underlying game never improves from being horribly simplistic. Throw in dialogue full of hashtagging and pop culture phrases that were culled from a decade ago and the attempts to seem #OnTrend more often feel outright #cringe and #basic. It’s an odd title where I can’t really identify the target age group aside from gamers just starting out, but I’m curious how well that overlaps the people buying these dolls that look like a more current version of Bratz, just with smaller cherub-like bodies and anime-style big eyes. I suppose if your kids love them this will be a demand no matter what, but just remember that you’ve been #warned!
