Been playing PC games for a whole lot of (40+) years. I am familiar with run jump-type games and although not my favorite I respect them for what they are. The designer obviously thought it funny to have a run jump timed (crane mission) that is just infuriating. I like others who have run through this (even after looking at walkthroughs) just don't want to keep trying the same stupid can you hit a button then jump on a moving platform fast enough. Actually going to delete it and never see the end even though I am curious. Additionally not going to support this game designer for any other work. Not interested in tossing my money at someone who wants to prove their game design is right. Expand

Lifeless Planet is a very little gem for weird adventure/plat-former genre lovers, with a not so graphically impressive 3D (but inmersive) landscape ready to explore. It's rooted on big narrative mystery but not much of a character development, and It has a notable limited playability in terms of what you can do in-game, becoming too simple. Music is poetic, wonderful and on point, it works to me. Overall I have to say, isn't the greatest of it's genre.
But strangely I was caught in it's story-driven way of progress, and finished the game pretty quickly having left a quite good feel about it, acknowledging all of it's deficiencies.
If you find this in some kind of offer for a cheaper price than usual, I can recommend you to give it a try, could be fun for you If you aren't expecting an AAA title.

This is the exact kind of 3rd-person indie game I look for, great story without any point-and-click boredom. No, the platforming isn’t Super Meat Boy tight or anything, but the controls are nowhere near as bad as other reviews are making it out to be and don’t hinder progression in the slightest. Combined with the fascinating story, a good level of difficulty for the puzzles, and the surprisingly beautiful indie visuals; it’s a fantastic experience especially for space/sci-fi lovers. For the $5 eShop sale price it was more than worth it, and I would’ve been just as happy with it if I had paid full price. Expand

This is a pretty amazing game. I wasn't expecting much play time because of the price but it was absolutely worth it! A+ Game

Lifeless Planet: Premiere Edition may very well gain a few new fans based solely on its narrative. Unfortunately, the tedious ordeal of having to traipse around the planet for half a dozen hours like a clumsy jelly baby just doesn’t make the plot strong enough to be worth the hassle. While it may not sound like it, I do appreciate the hard work and effort it takes to independently craft an environment of such scale. However, it really doesn’t excuse the fact that this is an incredibly poorly made game, regardless of how interesting its premise may be.

For some, the gameplay might prove too simple and the comparatively low fidelity visuals might pull people out of the experience and distract them from what the game does well. While part of me would definitely love to see Lifeless Planet re-imagined with a more modern engine and an extra layer or two to the gameplay, I can’t deny I found the game plenty compelling as it is. So, for those interested in a no-frills, story driven sci-fi adventure that doesn’t overstay its welcome, Lifeless Planet is well worth a closer look.

Unraveling the thread to reveal the truth behind Lifeless Planets narrative is definitely its strongest appeal. Unfortunately, doing so often feels more like a chore than a joy. The platforming here feels ancient The planet itself, while absolutely capturing the essence of it decaying, comes off as uninteresting to explore. Add in some monotonous puzzles, and what you’re left with is a rather forgettable experience.
