Jumanji: The Video Game is best left in that dark and dusty cupboard that it will no doubt end up in.

This game is both good and bad. As a gamer who loves third person shooting and couch coop I feel this is a just about the only game out there. This game is both good and bad. As a gamer who loves third person shooting and couch coop I feel this is a just about the only game out there. Conceptually this game could have been epic. Online and couch coop, treasure hunting. Ridding a the popularity of successful franchise. the most important aspect is my kids love it. I can play with my girls, Who love the easy, shallow, mechanics and graphics and Jumanji. That is the good.

The bad is the game is terribly optimized. It is visually terrible. the movement is clunky and the game play loop is very limited. The writing is unworldly terrible. in short this game lacks any soul. it is a skeleton of a concept based on popular franchise with popular actors. It is like it doesnt know that it had the possibility to be something special and went straight to riding the wave of popularity that is Jumanji. All is not lost, but will more money be put into the game in adding levels or tweaking the movement or adding additional challenges to the levels. Just a loot loop to increase the reward of grinding the level a little bit more would increase the value of this game tremendously.

This game could have been awesome. As it is, it is a rare type of game that fits my niche and my kids but it really lacks...everything.
