The game is actually great, but I just have to rate it 1 due to UNSTABLE (!) 30 FPS which is exclusive for Switch and I don't understand why. MK11 has 60 FPS in battles, Dragon Ball FighterZ has a dynamic resolution which shrinks when there's tons of lasers and stuff on screen and it still manages to look great, so it baffles me that they didn't do this trick here. The network is sometimes unstable, but I think this is the best JJBA console games made by CyberConnect2. I think the network problem is overlapped with the problem of Nintendo Switch itself. But I think JOJO ASBR has fixed the drawbacks of Vanila ASB, but CC2 has to take more care of the balance problem, based by Diavolo and Risotto Nero, etc.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R is a game made for JJBA fans. That's not to say you won't get any enjoyment out of it if you've never watched the anime or read the manga, but its core audience will be the only ones that will enjoy this game. While the fan service and combat are really top-notch, it struggles from a lackluster single player offering and a pitiful online experience.

Though the switch version is admittedly not the best choice of playing the game, the game is great! Though I am a bit sad that some parts feel under represented, it is fairly easy to pick up your favorite characters and start training to pull off your own unique combo! Though I'm not likely to purchase any upcoming DLC from the on-going season pass, I'm excited to see what the future holds for this game. Expand

The online module of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is effectively broken and useless. Everything feels way too slow and unresponsive. Matches will also end randomly or never happen at all. However, the local play works exactly as intended and the story mode is as entertaining as the goofy and boisterous manga that it is based on. At the end of the day, Araki's style and the strong JoJo flavour is what elevates this Tekken-like fighting game from being completely average.

This is an experience tailored solely for rabid JoJo fans and no one else. On the bright side, it makes for a perfect excuse to finally hop aboard the JoJo train! Only after emerging from that rabbit hole can you enjoy All-Star Battle R for what it is. [Issue #62 – November/December 2022, p. 73]

With its fan-service and multiple references, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R is above all dedicated to the community keen on the work of Hirohiko Araki. A pampered remaster of the eponymous title from the PlayStation 3 toy library, it offers an impressive cast and gameplay that is as technical as it is dynamic. If the balance of forces is not optimal (some characters are much more powerful than others), CyberConnect2's game has enough assets to convince fighting enthusiasts. Provided you know the manga or anime. Otherwise, Battle R may be far too hermetic for neophytes and non-connoisseurs of manga.
