Best adventure/mystery game I’played in a while. Terrific presentation, story, voice-overs and graphics.

Throughly enjoyed this game. Great story, can’t wait for chapter two.
Loved the music, the choices to make, the puzzles.
    Highly recommend!

But the experience on switch is that you have a freakish touch inhibitor that half worked and lagging at the entirety of the game, and it is not working because:

    A. you are expecting a proper platformer, which they cannot deliver.
    B. the protagonist has the slowest running speed in half of the traversing areas with no visual cue, making the pace lagging to another extent.

So if you are asking about the writing, intention, the setup and finish, and the general storyline, it is a wonderful game with an 11/10 high score.

But the control is so bad and not remotely self-contained that I would give it a -7 to compensate.

So yes. Don't buy it on the switch. It is a good mobile game, but that is all it is.

I definitely do not recommend it

At first glance, this game may seem great, especially the graphics may be appealing. Unfortunately, after a while, the game begins to erase this impression with poorly written jokes and a not very well told story.
All the time you could feel that the game is trying to be fun, unfortunately just trying.

I don't know who this game is for. First off: yes, the ending is a sequel hook. I saw that before going in, so I wasn't too disappointed, but I can understand how going in unspoiled would be frustrating.

As for the rest of it, I found the gameplay fun, the puzzles a decent challenge, and the characters charming and endearing. Overall, I'd recommend it.

First off, we really liked the writing. You come to care about the main characters. This was the biggest plus for us. In addition, there is a chapter select screen you can use to go back and see alternate paths of storyline that you didn’t take before, which is a feature I love. Good thinking on this one, devs!

The graphics were really pretty at times, another plus.

However, the sound didn’t have as much variety as a game this long would need. Sound effects and songs got very repetitive, especially the chime that indicates when something good happens or you’ve discovered something.

And that brings us to the biggest negative of the game for us: It was way too easy. It was more of a visual novel than a game, which was not what we were looking for when we bought a game. I wanted to actually have to solve something, not just click A until the main character solved it—and I wanted to actually use the little magnifying glass to find cool stuff scattered around, but instead, you only use that when a prompt appears on screen. It holds your hand too much.

All in all, a good experience, but not one that left us raving like Tangle Tower did.

This game gave me mixed feelings. From one side it's more for kids, with very simple repetitive mechanics and lack of gameplay. But from the other side the plot is very very good. Better than in the most games, I'd say.

A great puzzle game where you play a young detective solving a murder mystery. The logic and analysis in the mystery is very fun, and the animation is cute. I really hope the game continues for a second part !!!

If you like this game also try Tangle Tower.

    Cute and Fun.
This game has a great balance of cuteness and puzzles. Some are a little more tricky than most, but there is no giant challenge for seasoned puzzle solvers.

There are a few hidden things to find in each level, and once you get the kind of pattern, they are easy to find.
Then ending was pretty cool. But you will have to finish it to find out why...

It is a good game, however sometimes the story is a bit slow and becomes monotonous. But once you enter the climax it is gripping, however the choices, seem to have no effect on the story, other than for minor details.

I don't know, sometimes the controls stopped responding, and I had to close and open the game to continue, especially when switching between portable, desktop or TV mode.

I recommend it to have a good time, it's not a bad game, it's just a little slow, as I already mentioned.

Jenny LeClue Detectivu is a fairly light puzzle and story game that can be easily completed in a weekend. The puzzles aren’t too challenging, and the story is reasonably interesting. There are some collection mini-games, but they don’t contribute to the overall story (and annoyingly there’s no way to know which of the 43 chapters you need to revisit to find pieces you missed!)

The other minor complaint is that the game only provides you the illusion of choice, it doesn’t seem that your choices matter or have consequences. Still, the game is solid and I would definitely pick up and play the sequel.

I randomly bought this game when it was 90% off in the eShop and I'm so glad I did. If you're a casual gamer like me and prefer games with immersive storytelling and relatively easy gameplay, then you'll absolutely love this.

Jenny LeClue is a very well-written game, both in terms of the story and dialogue. The titular main character is very likable, and gives so many fun little quips as you move through the game. The citizens of Arthurton, the game's setting, are just as fun to interact with. The game is very charming with the way it meshes all of these characters together.

The plot itself is also well done. The mystery you help Jenny solve is very intricate and spiraling, and there are some serious Eureka moments towards the latter half. There are some parts that can be difficult to follow, however.

The gameplay is very solid. I absolutely love the point and click elements, and a lot of the puzzles are very cleverly designed. I usually am not too great at those sorts of things, but most of them were intuitive enough for me to figure out on my own, which was very rewarding. The pieces of art and stickers hidden in various places also does a great job at encouraging you to wander off of the path, and explore things on your own.

Dialogue sections that let you pick Jenny's words are also an absolute treat, and another great showcase of the game's writing. Yes, there are quite a few moments where both choices are essentially the same, but there is a small handful of big decisions that do a great job of putting you in Jenny's shoes. A few decisions you make as Arthur also feel very significant.

On top of all of this, the beautiful art style (serious, some areas look AMAZING) and backing music help make this game an charming, atmospheric, immersive delight.

The game isn't without its flaws, however.

While most of the puzzles are easy to figure out, there were a few points where I got very lost in some big areas, and ended up having to do a lot of backtracking. I needed to look up a walkthrough to get through these parts. The magnifying glass mechanic was also way too straightforward for me. Most of the time, it only gives you the prompt to look for something when you're standing right next to it, which I feel kind of defeats the purpose.

Also, while I do like the art style, there were points where it felt very limiting. This was especially noticeable during emotional moments of the game, where the characters' expressions were a lot stiffer than they should have been.

There's also the issue of the game's ending, of which there is none. Like...literally, there's no ending. You get to a section where things are really starting to unravel and a lot of big things are being revealed, and then it VERY abruptly cuts to the credits, leaving so many things unresolved. It's extremely jarring. I assume most of these threads will be picked up in the sequels that have been promised, but it's so sloppy that it doesn't feel like a deliberate cliffhanger, it just feels like the game is unfinished. I wouldn't say it ruined the enjoyment I'd had with it up to that point, but I think for some people it might.

So yeah, it's rough around the edges, but when it's good, this game is GOOD. If you're into story-based games and are willing to overlook a few glaring flaws, you'll get a lot enjoyment out of this. But if those descriptors don't fit, then this might not be for you.

Very eager to see what comes next for this game.

Fun cozy game! it’s like reading a novel but in form of a game! only unfortunate thing is that it’s too short in my opinion.

Exceptional presentation elements bolster excellent voice acting and writing, and the result is a mystery experience that is both accessible and hard to put down. The puzzle quality could be a little higher and the game did freeze a couple times (autosaves are frequent, fortunately), but the memorable characters will definitely stick with you after you close the book on this one. Like a good novel, Jenny’s (and Arthur’s) story is a real page-turner, and it’s well deserving of being added to your Switch library.
