ITTA may have released last year, but there’s a reason why ITTA has hit the mark on Metacritic with both fans and critics alike. There’s also a reason why Super Rare Games decided to release the indie title in physical form. The game does have some forgettable bits of quirky dialogue, but ITTA is overall a fun and challenging journey through a mysterious world with accessibility features that make the game a must-play, especially for fans of the bullet-hell and boss-rush genres.

ITT-A good time. Bullet hell is not a hard genre to screw up, but even those versed in this type of gameplay will find some enjoyable qualities to indulge in. If only the focus on the personal aspect of the game's roots had more prominence throughout, which could've pushed this game's impact to rare heights. Nevertheless, the core aspects of ITTA are more than enough to give it the credit it deserves.

ITTA is a good indie title that manages to congruently combine a series of genres under the same production. With an eye-catching storyline, he manages to attract and propel the player in his advance, being at all times entertained in his exploration and combat sequences. Unfortunately, some aspects such as its low difficulty and duration mean that it cannot be considered as relevant a game within the independent scene as others that have preceded it.

An adventure that combines the typical gameplay dynamics of the genre with an intriguing narrative component, characterized by a slightly evanescent ending, which is aimed above all for lovers of short stories without rigid and well-defined boundaries.

Bullet-hell games aren’t often known for melancholic narratives and exploration at a sedate-pace, but ITTA isn’t your usual bullet-hell experience. This is a top-down adventure that will appeal to fans of Hyper Light Drifter: Special Edition, Titan Souls and the like, one full of confident storytelling and very challenging bullet hell bosses. While its difficulty curve can wildly fluctuate, making it less than palatable to genre newbies, those with a taste for danger who want a new bullet-hell extravaganza might just find their new obsession.

Aesthetically beautiful pixel adventure in a fantasy world full of despair – the frantic boss battles contrast the dreamy atmosphere.

ITTA is a cleverly designed adventure that mixes up bullet hell and exploration. It’s a little bit short, but it’s a great experience for those who are interested in a challenge.

Twin-stick shooter fans who are up for a challenge will have a literal blast toppling ITTA's dozen and a half challenging bosses.

Itta draws inspiration from some of the best games of the decade, but this also might make its comparably rough edges feel coarser. Still, if you’re looking to dodge bullets and clamber up grassy ruins, this will scratch the itch.

I genuinely hope ITTA will be enjoyed by many but it’s only fair that I provide my wholehearted insight to the game laid before me. I loved how unsettled the world of ITTA made me feel, the wonderful Hyper Light Drifter-style visuals and incredibly fitting soundtrack. I just wish I felt the same way about the actual meat of the gameplay itself.

Bullet-Hell addicts will have a blast with what ITTA has to offer, the world is unique and the boss fights end with an ultimate showdown of skill and endurance.

ITTA is unremarkable in many ways. It uses a muted color palette, a repetitive, droning soundtrack, and guns with bullets that are just white squares. But despite these lackluster presentation elements, the boss fights are brutal and thrilling. Seeing their health meters drop both galvanizes your resolve and heightens your dread; yes, you're edging closer to victory, but your opponent is about to ramp their attack up to 11. The 18 total bosses each present a unique and satisfying challenge, and if you find any of them too daunting, you can increase your damage by 2x or even turn on invulnerability. Fans of tough, bullet-hell style action sequences will be able to slake their thirst here, but don't go into it expecting much more than a solid boss rush.

With its intriguing blend of tranquil exploration and tough, bullet hell boss fights, ITTA is a unique experience and a damn good game.

I found myself unexpectedly invested in the story of ITTA; its dark themes and mysterious characters held my attention throughout its short campaign. Aside from a few technical issues and the lack of a real postgame, ITTA is a bullet-hell experience that will quickly satisfy any craving you might have for the genre.
