    Indiecalypse depicts the crude reality of indie game developers and their struggles to get their shit together when it comes to releasing a video game.

    Three misfits team up to design and produce their own indie game, finding themselves in a path of chaos, self-destruction and resentment. But there’s also space for crude humor, pop culture references, gratuitous and non-gratuitous violence... and fear. Fear of the dozens of lawsuits for copyright infringement, obscenity and profanity we’ll have to face if the game is finally published.

    There's some pleasure to be found in the game's crisp cartoon art style, and a certain level of flair to the animated interludes. But then you encounter an atrocious auto-save system and a couple of loading screen freezes, and you're back to being miserable. Indiecalypse just isn't any fun to play. Maybe the very act of making these gaming parodies play so badly is a deep meta joke in and of itself. In which case, you got us. But we think the real joke is on the person who drops good money on this game.

    "At the end of the day, there’s so much going for Indiecalypse from the music, to the artstyle, to the occasional decent minigame; however the"At the end of the day, there’s so much going for Indiecalypse from the music, to the artstyle, to the occasional decent minigame; however the awful dialogue, laughably obtuse instructions, and mostly mediocre minigames stop it from being as good as it could have been. That’s not to say that the game is without merit though, and anyone who wants to try it out is certain to find some enjoyment in it – but I’d recommend waiting for a sale."
