    I made the mistake of paying £34.99 for this so you don't have to.

    Pros: - very cool theme, I love vampire lore and games that flesh out these narratives - there are very few other turn-based, hex/square Civ type strategy games with a fantasy focus, so this game fills that niche. Cons: - Blurry graphics - You can't zoom in very far so you can never see the models of your own    I made the mistake of paying £34.99 for this so you don't have to.

    Cons:
    - Blurry graphics
    - You can't zoom in very far so you can never see the models of your own troops very well
    - Badly rendered models and animations (at least on switch) means there's not much to see anyway
    - Uninspired troop archetypes
    - Card system more of a PR stunt than an interesting gameplay addition
    - Voice acting lacking in emotion and variation. All your troops plainly repeat the two same lines like some community theatre actor.
    - Gameplay gets really repetitive really fast. No depth to battles, maps don't vary that much, no city management
    - No tutorial starting off
    - Poorly designed UI means that it's hard to tell what you're doing and very easy to misclick
    - There's no way to reverse an action like in Three Houses
    - These are all just from 1hr of playing the game...

    Honestly, all these negatives mean that this game is more like a cheap or FTP mobile game rather than a full-scale gaming that charges £34.99, which I have lost forever because of Nintendo's refund policy. If despite what I've said, you still want to try the game, I recommend you get it on Steam so you could at least get a refund after you see the mess for yourself.    … Expand

    Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars will keep strategy gamers busy for a while, so you get decent value for money. I think the experience would be much more enjoyable with some well-aimed tutorial, movement, and UI refinements. Hopefully, we will get some improvements with the next installment, as I’m looking forward to seeing where this story can go.

    Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is an impressive title when you consider that it was created by so few people. However, the issues it has on Nintendo Switch in addition to the little content don't allow it to stand out. It's a very compact and simple game in terms of strategy, but it needs bug fixes as well as more content.

    If you’re thirsty for a bloody, in-depth strategy title, Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars may just slake your thirst. That’s if the combat segments don’t put a stake through your heart first.
