    Still in need of improvement.
FPS go to hell when a lot of effects/enemies/both are on screen. 2-Player Mode is still only about 20 FPS.

Loved the gameplay, its an evolution compared to the first Hyrule Warriors - each character with each style and way to use the `powers`. The story is ok in a what if scenario .

Now about the big problem here : performance - i played alone and it was ok for the most part of the time, but it has many fps drops ,not expected for an AAA title, hope they add an update that let people change

Now about the big problem here : performance - i played alone and it was ok for the most part of the time, but it has many fps drops ,not expected for an AAA title, hope they add an update that let people change some configurations to get more fps or remove some blur if they want - like a quality mode and performance mode - 2 player mode is not acceptable because the drops get bigger.

i could give 8 out of 10 , maybe if they solve the performance issues i can update my review .
Now it deserves 4 out of 10 because of the performance issues. We deserve more .

extra: lets not forget about the annoying watermark in screenshots- koei tecmo and nintendo does not need this - we know that you made the game.

just because i am a fan of zelda, i am not obliged to accept any bad game, just to please nintendo. the game is bad, nintendo only released these games at the end of the year like a shut up, for us zelda fans, but the game didn't please. contains several performance problems on the switch, an erased story and a style of play that it should abolish.

The gameplay is very repetitive and it gets boring very quick. The frame-rate is a deal breaker. Save your money and buy another game like AC Valhalla. big pass. Very disappointed. One of the worst games I have ever played

Love it, addicted to it, wish there was more of it. I know people with scared that the game story would ruin Breath of the Wild but I feel like it compliments it well while still keeping Breath of the Wild seperate.

There is literally no character development at all, and their personalities are nothing more than the one dimensional first impression of them. Revali for example, had more character development in the little you saw in Breath of the Wild, then in this whole game. i like the cast of warriors in the game, but this doesn't save it.
If I was asked to describe iiit in one word, I would call it boring.
I am really disappointed, because Nintendo created a lot of hype around this game, and it's not worth at all the 60€ it costs.

I debated giving this game a 5, but I got my money’s worth out of it with about 80 hours of play. It’s a pretty game, and I got my money out of it. I’m writing a review because there’s a dlc coming out for the game and I personally don’t think it’s worth it because of other, better Zelda titles. I’m going to explain why, but first, the pros and cons of this game:

I’m writing a review because there’s a dlc coming out for the game and I personally don’t think it’s worth it because of other, better Zelda titles. I’m going to explain why, but first, the pros and cons of this game:

    Pros

    Visually pleasing in every way

The game lets you get straight into the action

Less grindy than any other Warriors game I’ve played

    Satisfying 1v1 combat

    Coop play

    Cons

Lots of better Zelda games to choose from

    Repetitive

    Poor AI

All in all, this game is the latest Warriors game I’m aware of and sometimes it just doesn’t feel that way. In the other Hyrule Warriors we have on the Switch, the AI takes forts. It really feels like (in Age of Calamity) your enemies sit, waiting for their lives to be taken away. Seriously, download the demo and stand back. Most of the time, you will only lose if you lose all your hearts. If you don’t fight, nothing happens. Then, once killed, the enemies stay dead. I don’t mind that last part, but it takes away the idea that you could lose friendly forts, which removes a fun aspect of challenge.

    Comparisons

Breath of the Wild—Breath of the Wild is the game AoC is based on. AoC does everything I hoped it would do—it fleshes out the Zelda characters and story that were virtually nonexistent in BotW. However, BotW gives more freedom to the player for exploration since its in the open world genre. AoC’s combat is heavily based on BotW, but provides a much simpler experience. Not gonna lie though, AoC does some really cool things with the Sheikah Slate.

Link’s Awakening—This is a much smaller game, which means it takes less time to complete. It also looks good albeit with framerate drops. The game has gone on sale a couple of times which means that if you’re patient, you can pick it up for about $40 plus tax. It’s got puzzles and bosses that diversify it more from any other Zelda game on this list.

Hyrule Warriors DE—AoC is clearly the newer game since it looks more sleek, but I have more fun with HW. It’s more challenging and it has a lot more battle modes to choose from. HW requires way too much grind, even though the definitive edition greatly reduced it. In AoC, it’s relatively easy to upgrade every character to the max which is a super nice feature. After 200 hours in the game, I still have characters that aren’t fully upgraded in HW. Finally, while AoC removes some features like the magic meter, it adds features like the magic rods to make duels feel more involved. I was attracted to most characters in HW since it covers Zelda games over a couple decades. That isn’t the case in AoC. It assumes I was attached to the characters from BotW, and I felt zero attachment to anyone as I played BotW—the characters were that bland for me.

Skyward Sword HD and BotW 2—It’s worth noting that these games are coming to the switch. They have a full stories separate from BotW. Skyward Sword follows the old linear Zelda format with dungeons and puzzles and arguably has the best story of all these games. BoTW 2 is a highly anticipated game…because it’s the sequel to BotW, a critically acclaimed game that set a new standard for Zelda. Let’s not forget that there’s a good chance that other Zelda games might be ported over to the switch.

Cadence of Hyrule--Haven't really played it beyond the demo, so I can't really compare it to AoC. But again, it is its own game, untethered to BotW.

AoC is very flawed, but I still had fun with it. If you like everything BotW, Zelda, or Warriors related, then I can recommend this game. Otherwise, your money/time is better spent on another game. My point in this review is that I would literally choose any other Zelda game than this one. I would push for any of those games before AoC (as I own them all). I may have spent 80 hours with it, but that was to complete the game in full. A part of me wishes I’d just watched the game over Youtube. I imagine it’ll be like $20 for the dlc so the price of the game could cost some people $80. As you can imagine, I will not be getting the dlc.

This was mainly due to the fantastic presentation of the world, characters and storytelling. Amazing is almost too weak of a word to describe it. I didn't mind the occasional fps drops and some off camera movements in tight corners since the sum of things is almost too good to be true, visually and acustically. I best the game after around 45 hours, taking my time and doing lots of side quests. I expect to put another 20-30 hours while playing for some quick fun during the next weeks. A more-than-satisfying tie-over to “Breath of the Wild”’s sequel, this companion game sacrifices BOTW’s exploration for beefed up storytelling that challenges what a prequel could be, and the Warriors gameplay has been refined to fit the Zelda-style presentation and is an addicting experience.
