May 11, 2023I like how you learn more about the breath of the wild characters and the cutscenes are cool but all you do is mash buttons and my controller even broke
-
Feb 9, 2023This game is one of the worst games I’ve ever played it runs at 10 FPS how did they test this game and think yeah we should sell this

May 15, 2022Less content than HW1, fewer game modes than HW1, and less rich character gameplay than HW1. Zelda is insufferably complaining at almost evry cutscene. The scenario is without interest and isn't really a prequel to BotW.

Feb 26, 2022I had so much fun playing this game that minor issues were not a problem. Probably the best musou game I have ever played. Lame ending, though.

Nov 9, 2021This is an absolute insult to the Zelda Franchise.
Terrible combat, bad characters, lifeless environments this is a step backwards from breath of the wild wouldn't recommend. -

Apr 28, 2021First game I’ve ever genuinely hated so kudos to the game devs for that I guess

Nov 25, 2020This game is just like Fire emblem warriors, you just need to press a button and that's it, any big creature is a boss and bad characters, the only good thing is the loading screens and speech and graphics screens and have so many bugs and the worse history you gonna

Feb 8, 2021This is NOT a Prequel or Sequel to Breath of the Wild, but all it is a alternate ending to Breath of the Wild. So don't expect any spoilers to the Breath of the Wild 2, as MANY was hoping!! Probably wouldn't have purchased if I realized it was a alternate ending... Disappointed...

Jan 16, 2021Gameplay was obviously mediocre. I was really looking forward for the story, and was disappointed.

Jan 11, 2021Honestly, Hyrule Warriors is a great game, no doubt. When I got it I thought it would end with the champions, well, die but the ending at the end of the game just ruins Botw for me. I love the idea of Link awakening from a 100 year sleep the defeat the Great Calamity once and for all. I do recommend playing though, especially since you can do multiplayer mode.

Dec 24, 2020Story is ok, but the meat and potatoes are unacceptable. FPS is garbage. Gameplay and stage design are ridiculous, boing and repetitive. Just because it's with BOTW elements doesn't mean it's good. I'd rather replay BOTW again than spending a lot of my time playing this poorly designed, cash-grabbing game.

Nov 22, 2020The more I played it the more I disliked it, the gameplay is fun enough, but the story is just **** The tiny guardian is a horrible inclusion.

Dec 12, 2020Terrible mindless gameplay with a terrible frame rate. Sloppy character writing. The amazing characters from Breath of the Wild were reduced to 1 dimensional cardboard cutouts of their former selves. The story was abysmal. Why was this marketed as a prequel when the story is unrecognizable when compared to the original game. This is the worst game I've played all year. It's practically shovelware.

Nov 30, 2020Runs like **** and is absolutely broken. Being a Zelda fan this game isn’t good..or maybe I would be able to tell if I could play it in anything less than 9FPS.
Don’t believe the drones here and save yourself the $60. Nintendo fanboys will try to sell you chocolate if it had Miyamoto’s face on it. They’re pretty insecure. They’re irrelevant so continue to make fun of them. -

Nov 26, 2020The story is alright the combat is atrocious and the fps is very inconsistent. It’s very overpriced as well. I would only recommend this game to people that are invested in the story of breath of the wild.

Nov 25, 2020would be way better if it didn't run like a slide show. I loved the first one, and while it didn't run perfectly either, it was WAY smoother than this. gameplay should come before graphics. always.

Ninty Fresh MagazineOct 22, 2021Of all the champions, AoC is most comparable to Daruk: rough around the edges and simple, but full of heart and grows on you fast. [Issue #3, p.55]
-
CD-ActionJun 9, 2021Age of Calamity is like a t-shirt with your favorite band’s artwork – remove the love of their music and all you’ve got is a piece of clothing. Similarly, if you play Hyrule Warriors not familiar with Breath of the Wild, you’ll miss tons of fan service and end up with a pretty and relaxing but rather basic hack and slash. [01/2021, p.64]

Nintendo Force MagazineMay 5, 2021This battle-hardened prequel is able to scratch an itch that its source material couldn't. [Issue #50 – January/February 2021, p. 75]
