It plays smoothly, has nice graphics, cut scenes and sound, and it is pretty accessible to players of all skill-levels. There are only 5 levels, so you can beat it in half an hour, but there is lots of replay value because every level and challenge you complete earns you points which you use to upgrade and customize the very wide and impressive range of power ups available. You have 2 powerful secondary weapons which are quite easy to recharge, which means you use them regularly to satisfying effect! I picked this game up for $11, and I feel at this price Hyper-5 is a bargain! On the first playthrough it can be confusing to tell if some objects are in the foreground or not, but if it had just a few more levels it would be up there just below the top-tier shoot-em-ups. As it stands, it is certainly a game to consider if you are a fan of this genre. Expand
