Aug 25, 2019Hue may appear pretty much drab and dull at first but nobody should be deceived by its grey tones, this game features a very original concept and a panoply of challenging puzzles as the player's progression brings it into a visually richer and richer territory, not to mention its marvelous soundtrack. While rather short, Hue is perfectly able to provide an artistic experience for those who pick it up and who will absolutely not regret any time invested in this work.

Aug 15, 2019Even though Hue struggles to hold up as a puzzle game due to its simple but tedious tasks, I can’t bring myself to say I really hated the experience. The game commits so fully to its art style with strong, screen-filling colors that pop against each other that I wanted to keep playing to see more of it. I do wish that this art style had been applied to a game that’s less frustrating overall, but despite the disappointing puzzles I’m still pretty happy with the time I spent in Hue’s bright, bold environment.

Jul 4, 2019I was pleasantly surprised by Hue. Having played numerous other puzzle/platformer titles in the same vein, Fiddlesticks had some pretty big shoes to fill. But it has done a wonderful job; Hue fits right alongside the big names like Limbo or Braid, and its colourful twist on the formula helps it stand out from the crowd. With a fun, curious soundtrack and diverse levels filled with dozens of different ways to manipulate the rainbow, Hue is a charming adventure well worth diving into.
