Sep 8, 2025Hollow Knight: Silksong is, just like its predecessor, relentless. It's not a gentle adventure for beginners. Although this can make it frustrating at times, the game is exactly what fans had hoped for. Exhausting, yes, but also incredibly atmospheric. The game exudes mystery. The creators took their time making this sequel and worked out every detail meticulously. And my god, their world is beautifully designed. Hollow Knight: Silksong is a big challenge for a small price. It was well worth the long wait. But let me say it one more time: this game is not for everyone.

Oct 3, 2025While I won’t spoil specifics for such a new title, Silksong racks up one great boss fight after another. Lest you think I’m just a boss junkie, yes, Silksong’s atmosphere, enemy layouts, enemy AI, platforming, storytelling, audio, art, worldbuilding, and sense of humor are all great too. Even if I do think the scope of structure get in the way of its action game virtues from time to time, it’s still one of the best 2D games this decade.

Sep 12, 2025Hollow Knight: Silksong is close to perfection, with only a few nuances that could dampen motivation. A worthy successor to what is (to date) probably the best Metroidvania game ever made.

Sep 13, 2025Hollow Knight: Silksong improves on nearly everything Team Cherry established eight years ago and I hope other games will learn from its excellent enemy design. A true success that somehow managed to meet the high expectations.

Oct 4, 2025Despite my criticisms, Hollow Knight: Silksong is a great game with a huge world and it's going to be a long journey to finish it 100% if I ever feel like doing so. However, I cannot recommend it if you're bad at platformers or action games because you'll be in for a very rough time.
