I’m not even a big racing guy, but WOW!! If I am gonna play I want it to either be very realistic or very... Mario Kart.

Being we have had Mario Kart, this fills the much needed simulator itch and boy does it ever. I honestly couldn’t imagine a more comprehensive racing sim working on this console and certainly not as well as this one works. Anyone worried about the analog controls I

Anyone worried about the analog controls I recommend using a custom config that uses the right analog as brake and accelerate. Then update the right bumper to be handbrake and left bumper be flashback. Also I’ve configured my left and right triggers to handle looking left and right since I play from the interior/cockpit view.

Enjoy! This is without question as good as it gets with regards to racing. To have a feature complete build on this hardware is frankly mind blowing.

Best racing game on Switch period.

The only downside Is the lack of local and online multiplayer. But the amount of polish put into this game is really astonishing especially when considering it's price (44 CAN$)

Wow! What a game! You can clearly see the love the developers put in this. Much cheaper than Gear Club and so MUCH more quality and so much better game and fun! The first proper "simulation" race game on the Switch! Thank you developer and publisher!

    Very nice cars handling.
Excellent mix between arcade and simulation racing, with so many settings to adapt gameplay and difficulty to your preferences.
Performance-wise, the Switch is indeed not the most powerful console out there, but ability to play such a game on this console is a delight!

The fact that the experience would have been better with analog triggers doesn't in any way diminish the product already have, nor does it magically prevent you from having fun. If you like cars, you'll enjoy the game -- that's a safe bet. I wonder how people played simcades in the SNES/PS1 times, duh!

I've given this game 9 as I know online multi player is in the works for sure, as confirmed by feral personally by email before launch.
I have to say this what the switch has been waiting for, putting other real world racers in their place. Gamecube controller analogue trigger support a must on switch is included. Looks moves and shunts like a bunch of racing cars on a track. Well done

I'm genuinely impressed, the last time nintendo had something this genre was gamecube r/racing and world driving championship n64. A bargain too...

Best realistic racing game on Switch.

The compatibility with motion controls and gamecube controller, and the possibility to choose between better graphics and performance mode show that the developers worked hard on this port.

Best racing sim on a nintendo console ever. Everything done right. Addicted to it like i was addicted to zelda botw. Love it. Easy jump in, everything good explained, everything adjustable but not too much. Menu's are easy and good. Physics, sounds graphics at its bests.

Finally the Switch gets a very solid racing sim game, I had been making do with Gear Club Unlimited for ages for my real world racing fix on Switch but this game is like it's on another generation in terms of Quality, honestly going from Gear C U to This game is like going from a ps2 title up to a PS3 game, there is no way to put them side by side and not gush over how beautiful Grid is,Finally the Switch gets a very solid racing sim game, I had been making do with Gear Club Unlimited for ages for my real world racing fix on Switch but this game is like it's on another generation in terms of Quality, honestly going from Gear C U to This game is like going from a ps2 title up to a PS3 game, there is no way to put them side by side and not gush over how beautiful Grid is, both from a visual point of view and from a gameplay one.

In terms of optimization for the Switch as well Codemasters have added in 3 different options to play this on Switch between 30fps High graphics mode which gives you detailed 3d crowds as well as additional reflections from the cars, tracks and also additional details outside the track (such as balloons and planes flying by) to a performance mode which targets and very well achieves a 60fps lock a lot of the time outside of really busy points on the roads but it does a great job of getting very nice frame rates with a slight sacrifice to lighting/reflections/off track detail and then for portable mode they also offer a battery saver option which runs the game with lesser visual settings and at 30fps to maximize battery life for portable play. They really are the masters of code here.

Again control settings knock it out of the park, as some others have mentioned the GC controller is supported for Analogue control of ACC/Braking with the analogue L/R buttons on that pad, also there is options for joycon and controller pro to use the right stick instead of buttons to give a good analogue control of the power they really have sank a lot of time into making this Switch port make use of the things a Switch can do rather than just copy pasting the PS3 title onto the Switch and removing the dual-shock logos which is what some companies have been doing.

Oh! The game is around 7gb to begin with as well but if you have the space on your memory card Codemasters have offered higher res texture pack for the cars which they recommend for TV play, the pack is Free and 2.8GB I'll be honest I didn't play the game without this pack installed as I have a 400GB micro SD card but again it's great that the option is there for portable focused players (and the ton of new Switch Lite owners) to get the game in a smaller file size and leaving off these high res textures if they wouldn't be of use.

All in all though, this is a great port of the last gen racer, comes with tons of the DLC content from that game all in the base game package which after my first 20 or so hours into I think I've barely scratched the surface of the racing that is to be had here, and we have a online multiplayer patch on the way in the future from the devs.

Support this game and this type of port if you like the Switch / Racing games / Solid ports with great effort made to tailor make a Switch game.

Great game for Switch! Lot's of modes in single player to keep you busy. This game runs very well on or offline. The company just added public online up to 8 players and it's awesome! Got 150 races in already. I couldn't be happier. The visuals & sound are great! I'm actually blown away by the graphics and performance. Very nicely done! This game needs to be on cartridge though my only complaint.

Simply. This is the best racing game on Nintendo Switch at the moment. It's fun and interesting, especially when you put "Simulator" difficulty on.

Grid Autosport is the best racing Simulator there is on Nintendo Switch period.
It's one of the best Looking games on the Plattform and delivers great value with it's $40 price tag.
While racing may not be as realistic as lets say Gran Turismo with a real steering wheel I think that this is the best possible compromise you can get on a handheld. I'm having a lot of fun and I appreciate

this game only for experts. only expert can run without guide line. so much hate this game. I want easy mode without guideline. but can not. higher level can remove guideline, but mid-level AI so hard. this game only for experts. if you are rookie racer then don't recommend this. moreover replay camera so suck. too too many close up shots.

Hasta la fecha el mejor juego de coches para la Switch, con múltiples opciones y modos de juego. Deja el listón muy alto para este género en la consola. Únicamente echo en falta poder cambiar la cámara sin tener que pausar el juego y salir al menú. Recomendado.

More then solid in every aspect, content, car handling, graphics, performance and best of all, gamecube controller support for analog triggers, just like Trials:Rising. Loading times are also okey, fast between races but takes some time to start up at first. Nothing to much though.

Performance never drops, cars feel different and as they should (front/back/all wheel drive etc.). Liking

Liking the game alot and after playing Gear.club 1&2, this is different enough. I do like the "owning" cars aspect of Gear.club more then this, where you just are given a car for every race. This is better as a driving experience though, not that Gear.club 2 is bad either (much better then the first).

Sadly there aren't many good racing games on the Switch. Grid nails it though! Such a great racing addition to the Nintendo Switch. The graphics and car handling are great and the game doesn't look cheap compared to most racing games.

Only cons I had were 2 game freezes.

Grid autosport is hands down the best race simulator on switch, no delay, incredible graphic optimization, perfect balance between arcade and simulation, short loading screens, the only downside is the fact that the switch does not have analogic buttons to modulate the gas, but no problem they were able to solve it with the gamecube controller!

I really tried liking this game. I'm a fan of motorsport games, but this game is god awful.

Let's start with the obnoxious intro videos that can't be skipped. I understand that studios are proud of their work, but seriously, no one wants to sit through boring intro videos. Visually the game looks good, even when docked. I didn't notice pop-in and even the though the game prompted me

Visually the game looks good, even when docked. I didn't notice pop-in and even the though the game prompted me to download the high-quality texture pack, I didn't really bother because everything looks fine to me.

Now, to the elephant in the room, and the reason for the low score...the woeful A.I. It's just plain terrible to non-existent. Every car drives exactly the same way, ignoring the player completely while not really competing with each other. I've seen destruction derby's that are less brutal! Naturally, when A.I. cars crash into each other, there is little issue, they just keep on going, but when an A.I. car hits the player...you go careening out of control, no matter how minor the bump. It's like the A.I. was modeled to perform the P.I.T. maneuver. Of course, it doesn't matter how many cars, tracks, race formats the game has, if the A.I. acts like a player-seeking-missile, you really need to be quite lucky to get through a race unscathed, even when you are giving them room.

For me this completely ruins the experience. It's a shame there isn't more competition to give this sorry excuse for one a racing game a run for it's money.

Easily the best racing sim for the Switch.

It looks fantastic, but what really makes it shine is the amount you can customise your experience. The menus are really clear and easy to use.

Firstly, you can choose either best graphics (optimisation - graphics) or best performance (optimisation - performance). With best graphics it runs at a fixed 30fps with no noticeable frame drops, and with optimisation performance it runs at 50-60fps vsync and still looks great. On the Switch Lite the optimisation performance is definitely the best option because the 50-60fps is really worth it and it still looks amazing.

Secondly, you can customise the difficulty, and some of the most important options IMHO are about the driving experience, relating to how real you want it to feel. I love a challenge and I want to feel like I’m really driving a sports car, and this game manages to achieve that on Switch Lite! It’s impressive!
    My settings are:
Handling assist - Simulator Pro (which is no handling assistance)
    Stability control - Off
ABS - On (for obvious reasons lol)
    Traction control - Off
There are many more settings, but these are the important ones that directly affect overall handling of the cars. Each car also handles uniquely and can be individually tuned as well.

You probably want to start off with easier settings than these, until you are used to steering with the Switch’s stick. But once I got used to that, then these settings are a lot of fun, and the driving experience feels ridiculously real given you’re steering with a stick and accelerating and breaking with shoulder buttons. I feel the challenge of keeping the car on the track while flying round a corner about matches what it would be in real life with these settings.

GRID Autosport is almost in a class of its own on the Nintendo Switch. The game is one of the best looking Switch games and is the best racing simulator experience available on the console. While games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Crash Team Racing lead the system’s kart racing options–GRID Autosport has shot to the top of the list if you want to race in real-world environments. The level of care that Feral has put into the Switch version is apparent with even more options to come. If you’re in the market for a racing sim to take on-the-go, you can’t do any better than GRID Autosport.

The arrival of GRID Autosport in the Nintendo Switch catalogue represents a rare moment where a driving simulator lands in a Nintendo console, something which had not happened in a long time. GRID's plentiful content, its challenging and tough gameplay and the possibility to select between a better visual performance or a more fluid game experience make this one of the finest driving games on the Nintendo Switch.

GRID Autosport, in its Switch incarnation, is a technically accomplished port of a solid entry in a genre defining franchise that falls right in-between arcade fun and driving sim. The level of polish to ensure maximum performance and visual fidelity in both modes is astounding and Feral Interactive deserves all the praise it can get for it. With solid gameplay, a wide range of difficulty options, and an amount of content to please everyone, it is the de facto best serious racing game on the system at the time of its release. However, repetitiveness and complete lack of multiplayer at launch, hold it back from being absolutely perfect in every way.
