this game seriously sucks... it was the first game i bought via the e-shop, i did not check any reviews because i thought Nintendo should be carefully selecting their e-shop titles... but boy was i wrong.. and it instantly made me doubt all the other e-shop games for their quality....... the camera locks at an angle that makes it unable to see what is in front of you, this alone takes awaythis game seriously sucks... it was the first game i bought via the e-shop, i did not check any reviews because i thought Nintendo should be carefully selecting their e-shop titles... but boy was i wrong.. and it instantly made me doubt all the other e-shop games for their quality....... the camera locks at an angle that makes it unable to see what is in front of you, this alone takes away all the fun of playing this game already. it just feels like a B-class indy game, i cant imagine that the developers of this game even like to play it themselves, at least its not looking like they have spent a lot of effort in it, its ugly and cheap looking menu animations etc, some levels are also really unfinished looking, whole polygons of ground parts that are not even aligned together thus making it visible to see all the building blocks of the level etc.... its just not fun at all to play and feels like a big ripoff..... if this game was 5 euros, then ok... but i paid 20 and i was really disappointed. maybe a little child can enjoy this game when he gets it for free. Ginger: Beyond the Crystal is a prime example of underestimating a genre and throwing in a half-baked port to gain some extra money. It is a near broken title with zero flow between balanced gameplay and out of the factory polishing.

Even more aspects of this game exist to further bother one’s composure, such as the frustrating inability to increase health points, the lack of imagination put into the three boss fights, or the unbalanced platforming mini-missions - but it's a moot point to bring those up now. The main issue is that Ginger: Beyond the Crystal attempts to capitalize on the 3D platforming renaissance and fails in nearly every way. The uninspired visuals, clunky gameplay and vastly inferior porting process to the Switch make Ginger: Beyond the Crystal an easily forgotten adventure; it certainly won’t be missed.
