And At first I actually really liked this game myself.. when you play solo youre free to switch between the 4 chacreters and youll need to as each character interact with certain aspect of the world differently.. and your goal is to collect 10 eggs, collect seeds to plant trees.. I was having a lot of collecting all of everything there was… and the game after collecting 4 out of 10 eggs tells me I can move on if im tired of this section of the game.. who do you think I am? Of course not.. im collecting everything… and then after an hour in that level onto the next section.. each section is broken up by a racing level.. and then… oh no… this is exactly the same thing I did but now way less fun…
This is this games biggest problem.. it starts out strong and falls flat on its face.. the game is the same thing over and over and over and over.. it becomes tedious and unfun… it had my attention for the first hour, but the remaining 5 levels.. no.. im out of here.. im over it…
to be fair, this is what happens with most collectathons… yookalaylee is another example of a game that gets progressively worse as it goes on… and gigantosaurus suffers the same fate…
I enjoyed the snow level later on simply because of how different it was compared to the others.. but this is essentially reskinned assets fed to you in less interesting places… leading to an instand feeling of tedium and boredom… and I feel this is added to the fact you as a player cant hold more than one egg at a time, you have to individually collect them and bring them back one by one.. which again is fine for a while… its not fine time after time after time though…
I should have slowly been rewarded for ompleting tasks with new abilities to the point where I could care all of the eggs if I wanted to… which leads me to another issue.. a lack of rewards.. youre collecting all of these items for what? Nothing. Literally nothing…
Gigantosaurus is more of a distraction than it is a game beyond the first world..
That being said there is a lot to do here to distract, and theres an assisted easy mode great for those new to video games or reviewers that cant bare to play this game any longer… the game will walk you through to each egg if you so chose,
Im clearly not the intended audience for a game like this…
IF your child, newphew, niece, grandchild.. little sibling.. whoever is into Gigantosaurus, this is a cute little adventure and world for them to play around in.. one that will keep their attention well beyond 6 hours if they care to collect everything, so I can actually recommend it in that sense.. sure this isn’t that good of a game, infact the games final level is broken, so I had to break the game to beat it… but for parents especially this is one of the few kids games youll find tolerable.. there aren’t annoying background noises and phrases constanly being said…
on the other end.. if youre not into the Gigantosaurs and you want some substance in your game, look elsewhere
    I give Gigantosaurus: The Game
    a 5/10

It’s fine for what it is — but, if you’re looking for a good kart racer or 3D platformer, there are better options out there. On the Switch alone, there’s Super Mario Odyssey, of course, but also plenty of other decent games of this ilk. Even if you’re thinking strictly in terms of PS4 or Xbox (and I kind of am, since I liked this game enough that I want to pick it up for my niece to follow up on my Paw Patrol and kids’ PS4 controller at Christmas), there are still games like Yooka-Laylee or Tearaway that are higher quality. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get your kids Gigantosaurus: The Game ever, only that there are other games you should get for them before this one. It’s hardly a must-play, but if you’re looking for ways to get your kids hooked on gaming at a young age, this one might be the way to start.

There could be a cracking little game in here for kids, if the level design were more captivating and the job at hand felt more worthwhile. It pales into comparison compared to the Marios of this world.

Gigantosaurus The Game doesn’t bring anything new to the table in terms of its overall gameplay, but it doesn’t need to. With its open-world levels, easy platforming mechanics, and fun kart racing mode, Gigantosaurus The Game successfully adapts the world of Disney Junior’s Gigantosaurus into video game form with plenty of content and fun to be had by younger players, as well as their parents.
