Aug 12, 2022GameDec is a point-and-click cyberpunk adventure set in a dystopian world, You make a living by discreetly investigating crimes, mysteries, and transgressions in the vast sea of alternate realities to which most humans retreat. It provides a fun mechanic for dialogue junkies who find joy in solving the big puzzle.

Jun 30, 2022Gamedec is the kind of game that calls back to a much simpler kind of RPG. You won’t find any creative combat systems or instances of killing god with the power of friendship here — this is much more akin to a point-and-click adventure game with loads of dialogue to get through. If you have a particular love of science fiction or cyberpunk in literary form, you’ll find plenty to enjoy here; if you’re into RPGs for crunching lots of numbers and fighting cool foes, you won’t find much. If you think Gamedec sounds like your kind of thing, we’d definitely suggest giving it a try. Aside from occasional graphical glitches and dialogue non sequiturs, Gamedec does a great job of achieving what it sets out to do.

Jun 30, 2022If you’re looking for a point-and-click, or narrative-driven adventure, with helpings of edge, sharp satire, and deep deduction-based gameplay, Gamedec makes for a riveting addition to your collection. However, the occasional issue with controls and performance does need addressing in a patch, and those looking for an interstation with a bit of heart will find nothing but a husk here.

Jul 5, 2022Gamedec isn’t quite a masterpiece, but it’s a clever and noble attempt to do a non-combat RPG. The cyberpunk and noir themes will never get old, and the complex decision trees invite multiple play-throughs and approaches to the mystery. It’s certainly a game that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Jul 5, 2022Perhaps it could have explored those ideas more deeply or in a more satisfying manner, but even if doesn’t quite reach greatness, Gamedec is an adventure game worth checking out.

Jul 26, 2022A really grappling and interesting experience for any cyberpunk or Disco Elysium fan. In many ways, Gamedec is a love letter to this genre of games and stories, while keeping some of its less than stellar qualities both narratively and gameplay-wise. While the Switch port could be frustrating to deal with, the convenience of being able to pick up the game like a book and read through it was a really unique experience that I kind of wish more visual novels adopted.

Jul 20, 2022Overall, GameDec is an adventure fit for those looking for more of the Cyberpunk setting. The idea of solving crimes as a Game detective seems a little strange at first but grew on me as the story went on. By the end of the game, I was fully engrossed in the characters and even was worried about their well-being. Although there are a few minor complaints, GameDec is definitely worth checking out.
