    Game dev tycoon - try the demo! - manages to recreate the evolution of games from the 70s, where you begin with text adventure creation, then go on to console game dev, including the marketing funds and generation of hype.
    It succeeds in discouraging teen punks of ever considering to join that industry, and also is a good lesson on how insidious game creation really is.
    Also it has a    Game dev tycoon - try the demo! - manages to recreate the evolution of games from the 70s, where you begin with text adventure creation, then go on to console game dev, including the marketing funds and generation of hype.

    Also it has a "history of video game" kind of lesson in it. If you remember or can guess the next big thing in hindsight, you will score well.
    It's a very good game that left a sour taste in me mouth, so -1 point for that.    … Expand

    I love this game so much, I made an account just to review it. I’ve been in a gaming slump, not feeling much of anything lately. This game made me excited to game again. There is so much room to grow within the game and I suspect it will have a high replay value. I especially appreciate the tutorials which are clear and concise. The pacing is perfect.     My time with Game Dev Tycoon was just abysmal. I'm not sure what it wanted to do. While it's a conceptually fine idea, the problem is that you're encouraged to choose very specific menu combinations. There's no point in experimenting, because experimenting is failure. The whole game is just a case of learning which options to pick in a menu, or looking it up after going bankrupt for theMy time with Game Dev Tycoon was just abysmal.     Game Dev Tycoon displays masterful execution of balancing addictiveness and enjoyability, despite the niggling feeling that they merely copied and/or built-upon Kairosoft’s Game Dev Story.
