Apr 16, 2024I won’t belabor the point here. Freedom Planet 2 takes everything Freedom Planet did right and does it better, while also making sure to improve on the things it didn’t do well. It’s still not a perfect game by any means, and it can’t quite escape the orbit of Sonic the Hedgehog. But maybe it doesn’t have to? Maybe it isn’t meant to? Perhaps it’s just fine if it’s a really great riff on Sonic‘s gameplay. It knows what it wants to be and executes on that amazingly well. If you like 2D platformers, you’ll want to put this game on your shopping list.

Apr 15, 2024Beyond the 24-stage campaign, Freedom Planet 2 offers additional enjoyment in a new boss rush mode as well as a classic mode that allows you to replay stages once you’ve completed the game. Overall, you’ll find about 15-20 hours of action-driven enjoyment that’s worthy of the asking price.

Apr 12, 2024Freedom Planet 2 takes everything great about the first game, adds a bit of polish and some extra mechanics, and gives us an absolute beast of a game. I cannot praise it enough, it’s just brilliant fun!
