Another game where I felt I was playing a different game than the reviewers.

The game is a ton of fun and high quality. It is fast(upgradeing your character can make combat faster), colorful, has great animations, you find different skills as you explore, and is just slick and fun. The loot is ok. I don't care for that, but you can upgrade them to be stronger. All in all a fun fun

Don't trust reviewers or youtubers who show the first 20 mins of a game (which is pretty much a majority of them).

Performance is good. Had one crash but it never happened again.

Also, it is not a rougelike game. It is a 2D action game with handcrafted levels.

This is my first ever review/rating game. I felt like I have to! I tried the demo first.. I paid 5.99$ for it.. its the best 5.99$ purchase I have ever done.. i played dead cells, And other games in the genre but this, I think is better. Theres quests(loot drops in the process) theres the main campaign, good auto saves, and skill tree that can be reset for a price. I recommend this game.. i got 5 hours in right after i purchased it. Hopefully theres dlc in the future. Expand

When I saw the first trailer for the game, I had the thought that it would finally be possible to replace Dead Cells with something new.

    1) The amount of equipment is terribly small, and to make it seem to the player that this is not so - the weapon has a different rarity from ordinary (gray) to some super rare (red). Yes, grinding your gear will be an important element of the game if you want more powerful weapons and gold to improve them.

    2) Complexity. Unfortunately, after completing Dead Cells, this game only causes difficulty once. On the final boss. And if you die, you can take half of what you lost, or teleport closer to the place of death and collect everything that fell out.

Yes, the plot is better written here, but this is a fairly easy game with a small amount of content and an emphasis on grinding.

Dead Cells but you don’t lose everything after two hours of playing and the level design is FAR superior?

    SOLD

Ignore the jaded reviewers this is a beautiful and rewarding game. Glad I took the plunge and bought this. Worth every penny.

Fun plat-former. The controls were sleek and comfortable. The variety of weapons and perks was good.
My only issue is that occasionally if you got caught fighting a lot of enemies at once, then it would freeze a little bit.
Other than that. Would definitely recommend.

Looks good, plays good, a nice use of souls-like mechanics to penalize players for dying but still lets you run freely and enjoy the game at your own pace; there is a lot to like about Foregone. It lands itself squarely near the top of the 2D action platformer pyramid. A little more depth in the skill tree and a little more oomph in the special abilities could take it to that next level, but it stands on solid footing and offers a class leading experience.

Foregone is a good Metroidvania that gets inspiration from several different sources. While that's good, its lack of innovation makes it a game full of promises that aren't really fulfilled. It's a good game that is always on the verge of being great but never really achieving it. It's worth the play though, for those who like the genre and like hard spikes of difficulty.

Foregone is a good 2D action platformer, and worth a play-through. I’ve played many games that are easy to put down when the review is done, but Foregone is staying in my rotation for a while.
