I had a BLAST with this game, tried the demo and bought it immediately! I know it doesn't look revolutionary, but man, the controls are almost perfect and further than that all the situations the game offers are innovative, intense and always surprise you. Finally the best part: the boss fights!

Didn't know much about the game except for the few reviews I saw around giving high praises. They were not wrong, the game has really tight controls, awesome enemies and is incredibly fun to play, my biggest surprise on Switch so far.

I’ve been looking forward to Flat Heroes for about a year now, because it looks exactly like a multiplayer version of Super Meat Boy, one of my favorite games. Sure it’s been on Steam for a while, but when we’re talking couch multiplayer platformers, I’ll always prefer to play on the portable wunderkonsole.

Looking at the title screen, you will note two curious features. The first is that there’s no options to speak of, not even volume. The more striking feature is that there is no **** online multiplayer. At all. When I see that in a game like this, it registers the same way as a noose and a handwritten note.

Flat Heroes is fantastic! The single-player game has plenty of creative levels, the bosses are fun and challenging, and the gameplay is simple yet smart. The multi-player is great also with both collborative and competitive options. This game is hard to put down yet easy to jump into. So great!

Very simple-looking but engrossing and difficult title! Loved the game and I'm still trying to finish it. It's a total recommendation.

Easily worth what I paid. The initial concept seems incredibly simple, but the potential is used to incredible lengths. You discover plenty of new tricks and skills as you play, despite only using two buttons and a joystick. The physics are flawless- your character hitbox is EXACTLY what it looks like and it bumps into anything exactly like you'd expect it to. Campaign levels progress in difficulty through a total of 10 worlds, each introducing at least one new thing. Survival levels are incredibly fun, since they're guaranteed to challenge you no matter your skill levels, and competing against the leaderboard creates a ton of incentive. The PvP mode is the only part of the game that doesn't feel super fleshed-out, but it's still fun to play and the AIs aren't too merciless considering they only have one difficulty setting.
If the normal campaign was too easy, there's hero mode, which is everything all over again except challenging even for professionals. (totally not me taking nearly 40 tries to beat the world one boss on hero mode)
Ultimately, the real fun comes from 4-player campaign. Sometimes that makes it easier to beat levels, but so often, despite there being no PvP, you accidentally sabotage (and are sabotaged by) other players in hilarious ways until everyone gets mad enough to start doing it on purpose, letting the one person who stays focused manage to beat the level. If you have friends, I highly, highly, recommend dragging them into this.
I'd totally support a sequel! There's so much more that could happen with the game, and I'd pay three times the cost for something like a level creator.

Flat Heroes has sort of a Super Meat Boy feel with minimalistic design. The gameplay is challenging where you basically try to survive for 10 or so seconds each .

Aside from a couple of relatively small issues, this is both one of the finest independent games of 2018, and one of the most unique puzzle/action/platforming titles of the year. A visceral experience, which relies almost purely on the satisfaction of clearing a tough challenge, Flat Heroes provides ample opportunities for players to test their mettle against a continually escalating series of challenges. Whether breaking through thanks to careful dissection of the puzzle, pure technical skill, or even just a bit of luck, each new stage presents a new opportunity to earn what should be a very satisfying victory.

The multiplayer aspect is a bit of a mess, there’s not enough meat on its bones to really keep me interested and then, even if it did, it would all be over too fast. The quick-play style it boasts is definitely a plus but on the other hand, if I only had a few minutes to play a game like this I could never see myself popping on Flat Heroes over N++. And because of that, I unfortunately just cannot recommend it, when the clearly superior title is available on all the same platforms, including the Switch.

You could easily think that this game is too simple. You would be wrong: there are a lot of perfectly polished platform levels in Flat Heroes to play alone or accompanied and good and fast multiplayer modes.
