This game is a legit great workout. Really fun. I had muay thai classes, I'm hitting heavy bags regularly, and this is perfect shadow boxing workout. Voice acting of some trainers could be better though.

CAVEAT- I'm writing this during the COVID-19 lockdown.

This games has some problems, it's a bit hokey, the voice acting is terrible, and the songs are only so so. That said it's a fantastic workout and excellent for quarantine since it involves very little space. I've found it very effective at helping me manage my stress and I think it is a good buy. I would not rate this 10 out of 10

Over priced; Unrefined; Weak as workout. The game gets really easy really fast. It's basically like going on a walk in terms of workouts. The levels that require more moving are the most frustrating because the game barely picks up the motions. Not worth the price. Should be a $15-20 game at the most.

Considering that Ring Fit Adventure isn't available in my country, I found Fitness Boxing to be a good replacement. Being able to spend some energy and throw some punches during quarantine feels great. To get rid of the voice acting problem people mention here, I changed the audio to Japanese.

I've seen some complaints about picking up the motion of punches. It does happen but very rarely. The game requires you to have pretty good form though and there isn't much room for error. For both my partner and I after a couple of weeks it picked up our punches almost perfectly and we end up with scores of around 98%. The remaining 2% is definitely us not the game!

    Overall it's a fun

Overall it's a fun workout and after 2 months of playing about 3 times a week it's still really fun. It's like dance dance Revolution with your fists, what's not to like!

Not as good as Wii Fit +, but still a good game for basic Fitness. Just don't ask more from it

The game is very light on content, the workouts are pretty ok. Though it is seriously flawed.

    1. Whatever section of your body you choose in your daily workout, it seems to give you random workout plans. 2. The motion detection is very bad. It designed something it can't even consistently detect. It gets VERY frustrating. 3. Framerate is very bad. It lags so hard even my parents who

    3. Framerate is very bad. It lags so hard even my parents who never play video games could notice. The motion detection lags hard too, you never feel that you are working out but playing through a badly design mission.
    4. The remixes are very bad. One of them sounds like the howling of a ghost.
    5. The voice acting is irritatingly bad. The trainers talk in very high pitched voices for the duration oi the workout.

Overall, it's fine if you are very determined to work out every day, then wait for a sale. if you are casual, then don't get it.

Pro: Good workout (for a while at least)
Con: Terrible hit detection beyond the basic moves. Whoever thought detecting steps with your feet via JoyCons in your hand needs to be fired.

    Nice idea, poor execution.

The stretches are a waste of time, detection on the punches it totally hit and miss, the tech simply isn't capable of doing what it needs to do for this sort a game. The instructions aren't great either, the trainer gets her left and right mixed up constantly, there's barely anything about correct form and how much power to put in. It's just an injury waiting

    The games not too bad.
Good workout, but could do with a few things improved, hopefully the sequel has these issues worked out.
    1. hit detection, it needs work, i miss way too many punches due to the hit not registering. 2. because your not hitting something its easy to over extend or throw poorly pulling your shoulder or elbow, it needs a disclaimer or something suggesting you take

Price adjustment too, there is no need for this to be a full priced title, if they had not licensed real music for the backing, it likely would have been cheaper.

The games worth the investment for a workout title, but only at a deep discount, and now that number 2 is out, can probably skip this all together now, or get ring fit.

Does not register side step, and does not provide workarounds except cheating by shaking joycon which disrupts normal workflow. If this is a normal game software this would be perceived as a major bug.

Sooo expensive - probably due to some licencies - yes - music is just terrible! :D
    And voice acting... :/
Quite good fitness "game" - BUT poor content for me and motion detection very basic. I can buy full version but ONLY after 50% discount ! If the game works for you it's only your merit. You can train hard but game cant even count punches so what about calories etc? P.S. I

P.S. I bought it due to cv - my gym is closed. The game is even worse... But with music off its better than nothing...

It's actually a nice game, it helps you keeping a healthy lifestyle, besides the music and poorly made scenarios, everything in this game seems to complete it's purpose, keeping everyone fit. I truly recommend it if you are willing to exercise on it everyday.

Good to break sweat. Game wise for the point and stars, can forget it. The movement pick up by the system is a totally fraud.

When it comes down to it, Fitness Boxing isn’t a revelation. It takes a simple boxing workout and adds a layer of sparkle. The instructors do their best to motivate as familiar but cheesy music plays throughout but that’s about all it does. It just about does the job but your money would be best invested in the Ring fit.

    Fitness is there, but entertainment?

Playing is boring. On the one hand, there is too little music, and on the other hand, the coaching system is too monotonous. Hope the second generation can be improved.

With a few minor tweaks to the overall approach, Fitness Boxing could have been a more engaging way to fit some exercise in. [Issue #38 – March/April 2019, p. 74]

Fitness Boxing is a better fit for me and while I may not get the body of my dreams using it, anything is better than what I'm working with now.

Fitness Boxing is an interesting title compared to others of the same genre but, despite having really bright spots, it does not meet the expectations that the title itself generates in users.
