Feb 20, 2023I usually love these retro throwback Metroidvania games, but this one is very rough. I like the style, but the gameplay is just so sluggish. The enemies seem to be playing a different game that I am, because they move and attack much faster. I deleted this one after only an hour or so, I doubt it gets much better.

This is a solid adventure that brings nothing new to the table, but what it does serve, is unmistakably good. Just don’t forget to keep your expectations in check.

Mar 19, 2023Elderand is a challenging metroidvania with a great Lovecraftian setting, with a good length campaign that doesn't drag or make you wander around the map so much. With smart enemies and awesome bosses, it's a game that should be on any fan's bucket list.
