Jan 2, 2024EA Sports FC 24 is ambitiously big. It features an astounding number of real-life players and teams, and no shortage of content. It’s about as authentic as you can get on the Switch. Despite a few graphical blips and an overwhelming menu system, this is an easy title to recommend to fans.

Oct 3, 2023EA Sports FC 24 on Nintendo Switch means owners can finally feel like they have a proper option when it comes to one of the biggest games of the year.

Sep 28, 2023After years of lazy, half-hearted Legacy Editions, EA Sports has finally delivered a football game on the Switch that offers full feature parity with other consoles. A much-needed engine upgrade trades frame rate for fidelity, but Switch owners finally have a port they can be proud of, rather than feeling like an afterthought.

Oct 15, 2023EA Sports FC 24 for Nintendo Switch delivers the exciting concretization of a parity of content and features that owners of the hybrid console had been waiting for literally years, but on the other hand it stands as yet another impossible conversion that makes heavy compromises and sometimes struggles to run.

Oct 10, 2023EA Sports FC 24 is a very welcome arrival on the Nintendo Switch, which now finally has a full, all-round football game to boast about. While it's not perfect, especially when it concerns the loss of fluidity related to its framerate, the content and amount of game modes are enough to keep football fans satisfied experiencing the ups and downs of their players, managers and teams. The experience would be even better if the Ultimate Team mode did not make such an extended use of microtransactions, and if the online multiplayer component featured crossplay with other platforms.

Nov 1, 2023For the first time in a long time, Nintendo Switch owners finally have a good, non-management football game to enjoy. It is not going to blow anybody away, but it is by far the best football game on the console. The only feature that the Switch has over PlayStation or Xbox – as it is with any game – is the ability to play it on the go. If this doesn’t interest you, even with the parity in terms of features, you’re still going to want to play the other console versions over this.

Oct 4, 2023Even though it manages to do the bare minimum of not simply copy and pasting its work from previous years, EA Sports FC 24 is sub-par on the Nintendo Switch. The Frostbite engine is still a Sunday League compared to HyperMotion technology, as its slow gameplay and poor framerate make new features like PlayStyles pretty much useless. And while Ultimate Team has seen a considerable leap forward now that it’s no longer just FIFA 17’s version of FUT, other modes like VOLTA and Clubs are almost unplayable because of the lack of community interest and consistent connection issues. If you’re dying to play soccer on the go, you could likely do worse than EA Sports FC 24 on the Nintendo Switch, but if you have the option then you’ll find a much more enjoyable and modern version on any other platform.
