    As it is, the levels in Dyna Bomb, while not bad, aren’t fun or interesting enough to sustain repetitive trial-and-error gameplay. So, this is an average Switch game at present, one that could be quite good if it had a bit more polish. Perhaps a welcomed patch will arrive, with options that push this game’s mobile origins further to the backside. Meanwhile, despite a number of positives, I’d wait for a sale if the game strikes your fancy, as it doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression right now.

    Dyna Bomb is an arcade style linear platformer, run or fly (using your jetpack, that conveniently has unlimited fuel) around a level, collectDyna Bomb is an arcade style linear platformer, run or fly (using your jetpack, that conveniently has unlimited fuel) around a level, collect diamonds, bombs and a key, then exit the level. Do this before the time runs out, and avoiding enemies. There are 8 worlds with 8 levels in each world. So, plenty of levels to complete. Throw in portals to move around a level too, and you have a decent little arcade platformer.

    Your character will start a level with 3 bombs that he or she can throw at enemies, you can collect more as well, but use your bombs carefully as they are strictly limited. And if you touch an enemy, level over.

    Dyna Bomb plays as a true arcade game, pick up and play, the game is not about exploration, it is purely about completing the goals, and getting to the exit as soon as you can without dying. And for an arcade game, isn't that what you expect?

    The Good
    Bright colourful graphics. Cool music. Easy to play. Plenty of levels.

    The Bad
    It is sometimes hard to see enemies due to the way the screen scrolls, and there is no way to manually look around a level.

    Overall
    As simple arcade games go, Dyna Bomb hits all the targets you would want, is it perfect? no, there are a few things that are frustrating, like as I mentioned above, not being able to see things as the screen scrolls, the hit mechanics when you come in contact with an enemy are very harsh. And it could be argued that the developers should have given more options, to play without time limits, to have the jet pack with limited fuel and so on. However, the game is pushed as an arcade game, it is a game you will pick up, play for 10 minutes, put down. And then the next day pick it up, play and so on. It can be challenging at times, there are plenty of levels and despite the problems, I do think that Dyna Bomb is a good addition to your Switch Library.    … Expand

At the begin is simple but already from the second and third world it become pretty interesting if you like a 1 life game. Add-on are a must sometimes to pass a level but i'm having good hours of fun. Sometimes anger hahaha. I know is a port from mobile but for me who i don't really like to play on phone i'm enjoying the Nintendo Switch version.… Expand

    If you are old enough, you may remember the game Bomb Jack from ZX Spectrum and other computers from the 80´s. Yes... pretty old games, right?If you are old enough, you may remember the game Bomb Jack from ZX Spectrum and other computers from the 80´s. Yes... pretty old games, right? And Dyna Bomb is almost a clone. Or an enhanced clone. A version 3.0 of Bomb Jack. You have to collect - not bombs, but - diamonds on a level, you must not to touch enemies.. but you can kill them here using bombs... and you use teleports and levelers which are the "something extra" on this game when compared to Bomb Jack... But still the idea is the same... One button is used to fly, the other to drop the bomb. you collect the diamonds a can buy some extra things and continues... as you have only one live and touching the enemy means, you need to start the game from start... or buy a continue for 500 diamonds..
    It may sound negative, what I´m writing, but I like the game.. at least a bit...

La 7 Raven Studios ha pubblicato per Pc e Nintendo Switch un gioco dalleDyna Bomb è un titolo che ci catapulterà direttamente negli anni 80. La 7 Raven Studios ha pubblicato per Pc e Nintendo Switch un gioco dalle atmosfere retro, con tanti mostri da distruggere ed una sfida a tempo perenne.

    Il titolo è privo di trama. Interpreteremo i panni di due ragazzi che, attrezzati coi loro jetpack e le loro bombe, dovranno superare i vari livelli cercando di distruggere quanti più nemici possibili. Aprendo il gioco ci renderemo subito conto della grafica vecchio stampo; tra il pulsante play e quello con la slot machine non ci resta altro che iniziare a giocare. In totale ci saranno 8 mondi per un totale di 64 livelli, completando al 100% le varie sfide proposte se ne sbloccheranno altri di bonus, fino ad 8 aggiuntivi.
    Ogni mondo è differenziato da delle caratteristiche grafiche differenti, partiremo da una foresta ed attraverseremo numerosi cambi di scenario. In ogni livello ci saranno dei diamanti, con colori differenti, ogni colore avrà una valuta differente; questi diamanti ci serviranno per acquistare dei potenziamenti. Potremmo anche girare una “ruota” che ci restituirà dei bonus momentanei. Ci scontreremo con vari robot e dovremmo utilizzare le nostre bombe, potremo distruggerli con un solo colpo, fatta eccezione delle torrette. A inizio partita avremo a disposizione solo tre esplosivi, dovremo cercare gli altri in scatole sparse in giro. C’è una cosa fondamentale che bisogna trovare in ogni livello, ovvero una chiave a forma di croce egizia, che ci farà aprire una porta magica che ci sbloccherà l’ambiente successivo.

    Le ultime cose che troveremo nel gioco saranno delle stelle, di numero mutabile, che non influenzeranno il gioco tranne che per una cosa che spiegheremo successivamente. Oltre ai robot ci saranno degli ostacoli che ci daranno fastidio, ci rallenteranno e non saranno distruttibili; spuntoni che appaio e scompaiono, campi elettrici che ci fulmineranno, ruote appuntite che faranno avanti e indietro. Essi serviranno a farci perdere tempo mentre esso scorre, se non si supera il livello entro lo scadere perderemo e ricominceremo da zero. Ogni volta che si perderà per qualsiasi motivo percorreremo da capo il tragitto.
    Per sbloccare i livelli bonus bisogna rispettare 4 criteri su tutti quelli presenti nel mondo: il primo è quello di raccogliere tutte le stelle presenti nei livelli, il secondo è distruggere tutti i mostri, il terzo è raccogliere tutte le gemme ed infine quello di non acquistare la seconda possibilità per riprendere il gioco dove si ha perso. Infatti l’unica occasione che ci darà il gioco per avere un checkpoint momentaneo sarà tramite uno scambio con 500 gemme. La quantità di monete che avremo a disposizione non sarà un vero e proprio problema, giocando bene e completando tutti i livelli con tutti i bonus già a metà gioco ne avremo circa 10.000.
    La grafica del gioco, come si è detto precedentemente, è in stile cabinato anni 80/90. I disegni sono ben disegnati e le dinamiche di gioco sono molto fluide, altrettanto le animazioni. Una pecca alla grafica che ci sentiamo di annoverare sono i pulsanti iniziali e il menù, essi infatti sono poco elaborati e si vede che sono facilmente riconducibili ad un altro titolo della casa, anch’esso recensito su questo sito, Ghost Sweeper.

    Il comparto sonoro è formato da colonne molto semplici, anche loro sono ispirati ai vecchi titoli, se si suppone che sia, sono ottime per il genere. Ma bisogna specificare che non sono fluidificate bene tra un menu e un altro. Ogni mondo avrà la sua canzoncina di sottofondo ed ogni mossa che verrà fatta avrà il suo FSX personalizzato.

    La localizzazione è presente in italiano ma non si potrà cambiare dalle impostazioni di gioco.    … Expand
